The Family of Humankind

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 4, 2009

We are all part of this tapestry of humankind.  Blond people, redheads, Chinese and Ethiopian, leaders and followers.  Like snowflakes, none of us is quite the same, everyone a unique individual.  Even identical twins aren’t really identical.

So we are all different in some ways.  And some of us are way different.

The secret is in us looking for the commonalities, not the differences.  Seeing the dreams that we share, the desires we all feel, and knowing that we are all one in the bigger picture.  So why not make today a day for diversity?  And acceptance?

Have lunch with someone you never would have thought of before.  Look for understanding instead of frustration in the face of differences.  Do something radically different for you today.   Think about someone you have issues with and reflect instead on the things you share.  Have a dynamic day!

  1. Hi Randy,

I often think about this. I know that if all of us felt more connected to one another, there would be so much more kindness, love & compassion in our world. In my book I talk about how we are all unique, incredible, beautiful, lovable people & should celebrate all of our unique gifts & talents... not try to be like everyone else. Yet we are all connected in so many ways ~ all of us experiencing love & heartbreak, success & failure, courage & fear at times.

I write about unconditional love & how when they say, love makes the world go around, it's not just romantic love, but the love that one feels for all of humankind that is so powerful.

I would like to remind everyone, when you're walking down the street, remember to look up & smile at the people walking near you because we are all connected... it is OUR universal energy that we share & are always creating.

Be kind & respectful to all.

    Love & Peace,

    Bela

Here's to the amazing tapestry of this world we live in and all the differences that amuse us, entertain us, bewilder us and cause us to see in a new way.

    Wonderful,

    Peace

The ‘One with All’ that enters in my mind
Engenders thoughts of peace for all mankind.

When we can see that we are all the same
It stills the need to play the killing game.

The rose does not attack the willow tree
But lives beside, in peace and harmony.

Since time began we learn to hate
Those others who exist beyond our gate.

When all can grasp we live on common ground
The answers to our strife may well be found.

  6. Good stuff. Sidestepping a bit, but anyway, I've heard you can actually become something by osmosis as well, even though that is not the general perception perhaps. So, if you're interested in someone's life somehow, be with that person in one way or another. You will actually somehow assimilate traits of him or her if you want to and are "open" for that.

    My three cents.
