Your Movie Sequel...

Posted By: Randy GageMay 5, 2010

So did you give the question in yesterday’s post some thought?  How many stars would the critics give the story of your life?  Or more importantly, how many would you give it?

And more importantly:  What are you going to do to make it the sequel better?

Because the whole point of this is not about beating yourself up.  It’s about moving forward to where you want to be.

If you’re not happy with the movie you already made, focus on the sequel, and the new beginnings you want in your life.

Things like learning a new language, signing up at the gym, or enrolling in that martial arts, ballet, or real estate course.  Maybe volunteering at the local soup kitchen, starting a morning cardio program, or setting aside daily self-development time.    Having the courage to love.

Think strong, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish something masterfully.  What can you do this week that will make the sequel a blockbuster hit?  Because the sequel starts filming today.

  1. Currently learning Japanese in Japan for 3 months. That shakes up your comfort zone I can tell you.

Yet, the biggest things for me have been constantly reading and applying the information I read. It took some time. Even when others question why I doing it all. My whys are big enough and powerful enough to get me to my end result. I'm loving it.

Also, without a shadow of a doubt. Learning and applying EFT to everything I can find. Opened up my world literally.

    Happy Travels

  2. This post reminded me of a quote by Caroline Myss:
"You cannot change anything in your life with intention alone, which can become a watered-down, occasional hope that you'll get to tomorrow. Intention without action is useless".

Today, I'm taking time to work on my paintings, with the intention to have 3 more paintings ready for our group show on May 30th.

Also I'm learning Spanish, since we spend time in Ecuador every year.

  3. Reminiscent of one of my favorite films, "The Dead Poets Society" with Robin Williams..

    Carpe Diem..

Life is about living our dreams and we all have different ones. My dream is about inspiring people through entertainment, education and creative thought. And with this comes stepping into what I've always thought about doing but now am actually doing. Intention is so powerful; in fact it's more powerful than we may know. Just yesterday I attended an open house at the former Lucas Industrial Light and Magic campus and met a founder of what will be an amazing entertainment/film company. And we clicked at a deep level and will continue to keep our 'conversation' going. I'm very excited about the possibilities!

I'm grateful for where the Universe is leading me because now I KNOW I can make a difference and be surrounded by inspiring, creative, talented people who 'speak the same language'.

My film is magnificent and will only get better!

  4. Hi Randy!! you are so inspiring, I have been putting off something I promised myself and well haven't done it, and today I got this mssg, I promised myself I would visit the hospital where the kids with cancer are and just tell them stories once a month, and also the home for the elderly, I promised that at the end of march and I didn't do it, well it is time to take action and add a sequel like you said.

    Have an amazing day!!!

  5. Great post Randy!

I am not a fan of what George B. Shaw stood for and I suspect in the beginning it looked better than now after a century of barnacles but this quote of his is worth reading every day.

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

    -George Bernard Shaw

  6. Remind me of a wonderful norweigan poem I used to say once, called "The fire".It was about The holy fire burning in our hearts, and how we put water and sand on it. And how we should pray in humiliation and thank god instead, for giving us that fire. And use it as it was meant to be used...

  7. Well said, Randy.

I've been given the miracle of a second chance after the disaster of 2009. Last year my muse fled (I'm a writer) but he's back now better than ever and I'm writing again. I'm also learning to be a copywriter. I have stopped worrying abut money because I can now do something about my situation. My sequel will be magnificent.

  8. Excellent Post!! Dwelling on intention is likely to be a fault of many. Taking action , however small, is the the answer.

  9. I will not bore anyone writing about what I intend to do. I shall go and do it , then share the results in a later post. This post has inspired me to go and do!!

  10. Hi Randy,
A great post. You certainly are as wonderful and deep as I've seen you..thoughtful and how you lead us to thinking in such beautiful ways, whether the focus being on the accomplishments of our goals in this material/physically realmed world, or the spiritual journey, is so profound... I sometimes wonder how on earth you could come up with so many things/issues, giving us opportunities to look at different issues in life from different angles/views. ...And anyone who is deep enough in observing/or experiencing the issues of life can catch that in spirit.

[Randy asks: "Think strong, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish something masterfully. What can you do this week that will make the sequel a blockbuster hit? Because the sequel starts filming today."]

For this week..and perhaps, from today on... I like to attempt to think more strongly, cope with things that come my way even more fearlessly toward the accomplishment of my goals (both materialistic goals as well as spiritual goals) masterfully, not '...hopefully I'll make it ..somehow' ways, but a focused-oriented/purpose-driven way. I'm not sure if the sequel starting to film today as you say could catch me in time, for I often tend to run an irregular time schedule ... but perhaps that's something that I would have to strive to correct shortly in order that I could add the new/wonderful dimension (climax) to the film if I want to end the sequal of my film well, successfully, and beautifully. I also like to spend more time in my spiritual development. Another thing is that I always wanted to learn French and Chinese, so I like to make it happen when my time allows to do it, but those are the little spices to the film, not the mains. Enjoyed today's post as always. Thanks for being there for us, Randy. You truly are, not only super intelligent but also are a very deep person, not shallow. Thank you, thank you. love and hugs:: -saachi

  11. Although I definately think it's time to start something new, the plot is not clear . I'm all burnt out these days, so it would have to involve as little effort/risk as possible for a large return, preferrably financially.
My health is in the fore, with Optical Neuritis still healing. It'll be a few weeks before my sight comes back fully. I have to keep my stress levels low. My savings have all run out and I have no desire to be part of the machine or work for the man anymore. I'm just a bit stuck in a hole right now. I'm sure that a way out will present itself though 🙂 Fingers crossed.

  12. Randy,

With all the things I talked and thought about doing and never did, I did take the action to do my why! I am enrolled in an acting class and have missed one week. I once heard that you never have to schedule what you love doing..

    Thanks
    Randy

  13. Today I'll borrow inspiring words from someone else... not a good thing to do always, but the moment calls for it - one empowering moment at a time. This is the answer to happiness, abundance and joy... this excerpt is talking about political success, but that's not the focus, it's each moment that matters.
    Enjoy

November 6, 2008: One Empowering Moment At a Time

Many envy the success of others without realizing the self-discipline, faith and dogged self-belief that go into producing it. Success is achieved by a combination of wings and roots; by holding the desired outcome firmly in one’s vision but laying the foundation and structure of one’s dream is done step by step.

Exponential growth does not mean the skipping of steps or lack of attention to detail. Last night my son won the office of states representative. At 28 years old he is not only the youngest, but has created the largest turnover in Oregon history against his very vicious opponent. He did this by single-handedly knocking on more than 10,000 doors and writing notes and comments to every single person who spoke to him at their door.

If we can live one moment gloriously, and then the next and the next – greatness is born – but it comes one choice at a time.

  14. Reading this again, I realised that your words had gone straight into my heart and subconsious mind and that I really took a step towards that-so amazing!

  15. Among other things...dance every morning!

There are so many opportunities coming...I can feel them...some have already showed themselves...I will also need to set up some time to create space so that it all happens with clarity. space is so important but a hard one to honor because it has it's initial feeling of being wasted time. I know it's not but my heart takes time before it settles into it.

  16. Hi, Randy,

Another interesting post. I'm in the Third group. I don't seem to fit the first group. I always seem to have been a challenger, and when anything good came my way, I always tended to grab it to make a change for the better..well.. at least when I was younger. One example was that I never stayed with one job longer than two to three years, always ready for another challenge, as I look back now. Some friends who always stayed with one job for a very long time - over a decade surprisingly enough... gave me a negative remark about my moves. 🙂

As with the group 2 type, my instinct or nature is just incapable to revel in victim-hood..well.. for not too long anyway. It may sound sort of comical to say so, but it is true.. I will either try my best to confront with what forces me to be in the victim-hood state to help solve whatever is there that needs to be solved, or will othrwise get out of such a condition, if no valuable lesson/hope is seen in such victim-hood. I don't seem to be able to live both in the light (positive) and the darkness (negative) at the same time.

However, in terms of the Third category in which many of us are in, including me definitely, I must admit though that sometimes I'm not always quite sure if a vision I have and am striving to reach has always something to do with my attempt to focus on belief/growing in faith for achieving such goals/visions ... or it's been simply because I tend to be naturally optimistic ...perhaps by birth, as people often say and joke about me. Because I know there is a sovereign loving God that truly exists in the unseen spiritual realm that our physical eyes cannot see, I want to know more of God, learning to grow in my spirituality everyday which as a result would also bring the manifestation of the vision, however, when I come down to my own human self/level, I am an absolutely carefree, funny, optimistic human being... so I sometimes get lost in that, meaning that whether my moving forward with the vision/faith that I have is due to my growing faith/spiritual development or simply because I am naturally carefree and optimistic about many things including the goals/vision for the future. lol Or... if God had given me this nature ..perhaps his having created such optimism in me by birth is to help support my faith continually... then, it is still a part of the positive seed/vision that will bring forth its manifestation in the future ... at the right set time. I wish I could express what I want to say in English that sounds more naturally flowing with correct words. Thank you for letting me be part of this Randyland community and let me share my thought. Have a safe and fantastic time in Stockholm. Thank you for all you do, Randy. I'm sure people will all love you there as we do here. love and hugs:: -saachi

  17. LOL I pasted the above comment in the wrong page. Sorry. That should have been in the page titled 'What kind of vision do you have,' which is the next blog. I'm filling Randy's blog property with my lengthy comment. LOL

  18. Hi Mr Gage!
I am gonna focus on trusting myself more than I do today. When I saw and heard you the other day I thought:

"I can be successful in this business. I am gonna stand in front of the mirror every morning, being thankful for this opportunity and tell myself that I am good enough to make this work for me."

There is no excuses anymore. Why should I let myself and the people that I love, miss this great chance to financial freedom? I have no answer to that. None what so ever.

I watch this filmclip often to remind me that I have a lot to be thankful for.

If this man never gives up, why should I?

    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-a2-ZLi0F4VE/are_you_going_to_finish_strong_video/

This is my model now. One of my inspirationsources. What a fantastic person. I am lucky...I know I am.

Have a very nice staying in Europe. I hope the sun will follow you all the way. =)
