You Are the One

Posted By: Randy GageApril 27, 2011

All over the world people are waiting.  Waiting for the one to teach them, to lead them, to save them.  But what if you are the one?

I’m a seeker and I hope you are too.  But there comes a time when seeking gets you off track...

You’re running to India, meditating in caves, or wandering the wilderness, looking for the next thing, the next movement, or the next guru.  Sometimes you just have to be still and know.

Be still and know you are the one.

  1. What a coincidence !... or is it?...
I did search for years, and was lucky quite a few times, as I found Randy, for example !
But yes, you are right Randy, after so many years soul searching and looking and exploring and learning yet that one more therapy, that one last seminar, and there are more strange ones that I don't mention here...
it dawned on me this year that I have to start making my own path, have my way, and show willing others to follow that path, so many times treaded.
I have understood, particularly with Harv Eker's Quantum Leap programme, that NOW is the time for me to lead.
I have started finally to do what I was longing for years, guide clients in the mountains, all seasons, all mountains, and I am happy with it.
This also allows me to tell: do what I do, not just what I say... and this includes taking supplements every day, meditating every day, exercise every day, and make money, which I know first hand from you, is one contentious issue...
Wonderful posts as always, thank you very much Randy Gage. (I love your logo btw)

  2. Randy,
This is the hardest thing to know. For all my life I never thought I was smart enough and enlightened enough. Someone else had the answers.

When I first heard "Be Still and Know that I am God", I thought that was almost blasphemy. I now know that God is in me and if I just slow down.
Drama and action were my saviors as if I kept moving I didn't have to feel or think. Have another drink, cigarette, food etc. and I won't have to listen.
I am still working on this.
    Thanks for this post.
    Jim

  3. Yes ... I so love this message.

Like many, I have always been a seeker, and I always will be - but for so very long, I allowed my quest to improve myself become an excuse not to offer myself. I wouldn't put myself too far out there, because in my mind, I was always just around the corner from being wise enough, evolved enough, attractive enough ... good enough.

It was a lie I told myself. It is a lie that so many of us tell ourselves. Don't believe it.

We are always around the corner from the next version of ourselves ... but we are full of brilliance and perfect right where we are. And I think when we can shift our focus from what others will think about us to what we can offer of ourselves to them - an entirely new world opens up. It is a profound shift in perspective that can literally change your entire life.

Be still, trust and be available. And when you do, so many things you seek ... will begin to seek you. 😉

    1. "We are always around the corner from the next version of ourselves"

And the magic is knowing that is divine order. Knowing you are worthy now, and can still be on the journey to becoming more.

    2. I love this KimbraLee. Trying to compare ourselves to others, even if just in our minds, is so self defeating. We are all totally unique and God made us that way so that we would know that he has a special purpose for each one of us. We all have special gifts that others do not and we all can find them in the way you describe by projecting our best out to the world. The beautiful thing is, no matter what season you are experiencing in life, you are obviously learning and growing and I can only image the beautiful unexpected unimagined gifts that God has waiting for you.

  4. Focus,Focus,Focus....find your own inner peace and you own inner determination, to reach your most precious dreams and make them a reality.Ah,if it were only so easy..for some.I've had to climb obstacles that people would cringe at.In fact,I'm about to undergo a major battle...with the State.
Hopefully this will set a precedent for change with our situation with health care workers. It's a serious situation headed for crisis in our state. If I have to be a leader for change then so be it!There is a lot of angry health care workers that are decidedly fed up with no law in effect for a reasonable patient care ratio. How many people can one worker take care of?100...more?
    Yes,Randy,it's a sad,sad situation and you're absolutely right!
"Be still and know you are the one." RG
Nobody can make a change but you,and as GOD is my protector,I'm ready to do battle for what I believe is fair and just.

  5. What ironic advice. Are sure this is the message you wish to send? People seek your advice so they can be prosperous. To them you are a prophet. So in saying, wouldn't you agree we don't really need you or your advice to be prosperous?

Interesting. I agree, we are our own heroes and the only ones who know how to really make ourselves happy. Those answers lie within.

That is a good thing to write especially here. Because quite frankly some of what you advise is way off base in my opinion.

Nothing could be worse than following the advice that certain groups are better than others. Claiming socioeconomic groups as "evil" is not conducive to creating harmony and love. It creates division and stratification.

I hope too, Randy that you see you need love and support from others even though you may be your own Hero, or the "One".

To me, it is also contradictory to your feelings about the "hero's journey" in literature. Really, that is absolutely what they are trying to teach. That everyone is a hero, and can survive adversity and still find love and redemption.

    Annie

      1. I will assume that is your answer as you have no other way to respond to me and my criticism.

I have leveled a serious comment. It has to do with the topic. I didn't insult you and I made sure, I stated that it was just my opinion.

Your "Sigh" I do find insulting. It is not only insulting to me, but also to you.

Here is my "I feel" statement that you wish for. I feel really angry when my thoughts are dismissed with a "sigh". Why even bother writing anything Randy?

It makes me think you just wish to make me look stupid so you don't actually have to deal with the real issue. Also, I think you do it so your followers don't think I have any credibility. Well, I have made a valid point without disparaging you personally.

When will you be ready to discuss this properly?

        Annie

        1. My sigh is because if I say the sun is shining, you immediately grab for an umbrella, debate the density of the cloud layer, and question my qualifications on weather forecasting.

When someone pounds the same exact key on the piano day after day, it gets grating. It's not necessary to twist every single post on every subject back to your Robin Hood fantasies.

Can you just comment on posts with your thoughts and not dredge up the same argument day after day? The message today was - Be still and know.

          -RG

          1. You were saying "be still and know" as a conclusion to your premise that we contain within us the knoweledge we need without "the next guru". In my estimation after having been on this blog for a while you are viewed as a prosperity guru.

My point was I found it ironic then that you were writing that. I don't and didn't disagree with that premise, I whole heartedly agree. But look who's mouth it is coming from. You a guru and someone who has over the past week taken us on a journey through some fairly outlandish alternative medicine to find our optimal health, all under the guise of being a prosperity guru, and seeker of optimal health. I mean come on Randy give us something real. You have a disease that horrifies most of us.

My example of the "Prosperity is Evil" blog, was to show why it is important to know you have the answers within. We shouldn't always look for answers from gurus like you because it might be taking us down a dangerous path.

So, anyway I find this irony at it's best.

Who is hitting the same note over and over again Randy? Your reply that I argue over everything, and my bring up "Robin Hood Fantasies" which was a disgusting sound bite for conservative politicians. Politicians who like you have no real way of debating some of these difficult issues, as you have fantasies and illusions about what is really happening in our society.

I have made a comment about this post, that others overlooked, and it would be an interesting debate with someone who had the courage to debate it with integrity and depth. I keep hoping one day you will do that, but for now I am losing hope.

No, it doesn't mean you are anyone else has to agree with me. But, I think if you truly want to inspire critical thinking in those who follow your message, you are missing out on an excellent opportunity.

            Annie

    1. Annie, I'm quit sure you misinterpret the message that Randy is trying to get across here. It's quit contrary to a heroes journey. To be still and know that I am the one means that I can put down the heroes journey and know that I was created to be infinite, so the possibility's are infinite for my life.
As far as Randy goes prophet maybe, one hell of an inspirational, insightful leader for sure. We all need coaches and mentors and Randy is one of the best out there. That being said I will put my faith in no man and I wouldn't drink the "koolaid" either. However we need to be mentored by people in our lives that have wisdom and have blazed the path for us. Thanks Randy for being a trailblazer. I have gained much in a short period of time from your teachings.

      1. No, I didn't misinterpret the message.

"There comes a time when seeking gets you off track"

I think maybe you are off track. Why do you feel a need to defend? Does my opinion make a difference to you?

Look at it any way you want to. See Randy any way you want to. The answer is within. See.

Why would a Heroes journey not be infinite? Are Heroes never still and contemplative? Are Heroes within and without not also a part of God?

I would think about why you feel it so necessary to rebuke my answer.

        Thanks, Annie

Are you seeking without the courage of your own convictions?

    2. Annie,

I'll share with you what is really happening in our society....

Weakening of human character via learned dependency on the government by blind expectation that it's government's responsibility to take care of the people...
In short, Socialist and Communist views have taken over the illogical and lazy minds of the people... Those are the people who do not have a clue as to what this country was built on and why...
Why is it that the Constitution was written?
Why is it that people immigrated to America?
Who is it that built America into a country like no other?
Could it possibly be the hard workers and enterpreneors? Could it possibly be that they did not know the meaning of defeat?

I'll tell you for sure, they were not people like you...
You and people like you who proclaim to represent the poor, are the once who are destroying this country.... Give me, give me give... Help me, help me, help me...
Instead of teaching people that work and earning their keep is a dignified practice..., you and people like you teach and also practice helplessness and dependency on other... Worst of all, you expect it of everyone else to hand you something for nothing! You handicap people by claiming to understand their laziness and encourage hatred of self-reliance... And why should you encourage anything else..., when you are exactly what you preach... You hate and you teach hatred of money... You hate and encourage hatred of people who actually produce wealth and are able to live their lives they were meant to live...
In your posts you project the life you live... You are stuck in a life that you hate, and you are stuck in the place that you despise... And for what ever reason you feel that you cannot get out... And instead of getting off your ass..., you blame others for your procrastination and your laziness...
It's much easier to sit in your chair and type on this blog than to get out there and start a business.... Isn't it?!
It's much easier to hide behind the thought of representing the poor than to change your bankrupt mind.... Isn't it?!

The reality is that you do not represent the poor! You represent yourself... and the fact that you are not willing to do anything about it!
You will come up with every exuse to justify your inaction, and you will attack anyone who will attempt to get you off your ass...

If only you would put this much emphasis to better your life....... 🙁

The end of part I, part II to follow.
      Victoria

    3. Annie,

I am sure that by now you are preparing your defense... So, let's give you more information to fight about... 🙁

Randy is a businessman and a great one at that!
One of his businesses requires a certain skill, and that skill is leadership.
It is because of leadership ability he was and still is successful in that particular field. I am in a similar business, and let me tell you, Annie, people like Randy are hard to find! People like Randy teach us how to become better leaders. People like Randy teach us how to be more successful and overcome obstacles that come our way.
Randy encourages us and reminds us that everything is possible! He reminds us that all of us have the power to achieve our dreams. And there are many of us out there who are doing it. (You are not one of them) 🙁

You, Annie, are one of those people who attempts to kill the dream... You want people to stagnate just like you....
You attempt to use unjustified guilt, e.g. ....oh...what about the poor...., who's going to take care of the poor.... ON AND ON AND ON................... 🙁 🙁 🙁

Who are the poor? Are they from another planet or are they people just like us????

Do they have two arms, two legs, and head on their shoulders???? Can they lift a fork to feed themselves??? If yes, then they are able and capable to work and achieve greatness!!!!
I am tired of you putting down the poor!
I am tired of you degrating the poor as if though they are not capable of greatness!
The poor do not want to be poor and are capable of helping themselves! They are people just like everyone else, with hopes and dreams! Yet, you for some reason take all their dreams away from them! Why is that Annie?????
People were NOT born selectively - some to work and others as parasites. It's people like you who teach them laziness and dependency!!! You don't want them to have a better life than you, you want the poor to stay just where they are.... in your poverty of the mind and substance!!!

I come from country of nothing, don't tell me about the poor!!!
I came to this country without English.... Don't tell me that there is no way to get ahead!!!
I worked over 80 hours per week and never complained! Instead, I was ALWAYS grateful for the opportunities this country has to offer! So, don't tell me that there are no jobs, and no way to get ahead!!!!

Don't tell me about the poor and their misfortune!!! Who are you kidding???? NOT ME!!!

People on this blog are striving to get ahead and reach their highest potential!!!
Randy suggests certain character traits and gives us an opportunity to evaluate ourselves.

      Now it's your turn!!!
Evaluate yourself - your laziness, your procrastination, your hatred of money, your harted of people who are successful, your weaknesses. And also evaluate your harted for the poor. Why would the poor need an avocate? What, are they stupid? Cannot speak for themselves? Need the help of someone like you? Are you kidding me???? Or are you kidding yourself?

There was a time when I was poor... And your comments about the poor insult me...

Poor people and rich people are the same people. The difference is that poor who stay poor, are held down by people with your peverty mind set. And the rich became rich because they had prosperity on their minds!

      You are full of B.S.
      Victoria

          1. Victoria, I like you to much to argue with you. I am truly sorry if I offended you in any way with my post. That was certainly not my intention.

I don't think we will ever agree on politics, but that's okay right?

            Annie

          2. Annie,

This is not a political disagreement.
We disagree about morality and dignity...

You are saying that it's alright to take from the rich and give to the poor...
I am saying that it's thievery because it's every individual's responsibility to produce what he/she consumes...

My views are based on undertsnding of economy....
Your views are based on a whim - what ever feels right without evaluation of the consequences.... For example, you want National Health Care, yet you do not care about the costs and source of funding... All you see is National Health Care as an end in itself.... Well, it's not....

All you care about is what you can get for "free" because you feel entitled.....

I don't want anything for free because to me it would be undignified....
And dignity is what I am entitled to have because I earned it.

            Victoria

          3. Victoria, I believe health care should never be for profit. We have not yet as a society overcome the complicated issues that cause poverty. I think you are living a dream that has nothing to do with reality. The causes of poverty are not just people being lazy or unwilling to work. Many impoverished people work very hard and still cannot provide themselves with adequate resources to pay for pricely medical care.

Here in America there is not equal opportunity for all yet. There is lot's of unjustice that are at the root of some of the causes of poverty and those unable to help themselves. And, there will always be poor and there will always those who are unable to help themselves.

My values are not a whim, and I am outraged at what you suggest. I am very angry with you Victoria, you have no insight into my background, and yet you have made very many judgements and assumptions without any information at all. I call that a Whim and a not so nice one at that.

Universal Healthcare has worked in other countries. I hope one day it will work here.
I want everyone to have the opportunity to have their medical needs met regardless of the cost, it is my Christian perspective. I believe we are our brothers keepers and what we do to the little ones we have done to God. So, if we let people die, because they have no money for healthcare we have really lost out all of us.

I think people are entitled to that. I am not talking about robbing from the rich to help the poor. Ironically, it is the middle class and the working poor who pay for these entitlements. The wealthy have way more tax breaks than the poor or middle class. Randy put those words about me in your mouth, not I.

I believe in helping others and think your philosophy is not right for me at all. And if we are disagreeing about Morals and Dignity, I am happy to be on this side.

I offered you a hand in friendship and you have insulted me in an ugly way. No your dignity and morals are not mine Victoria.

            Annie

      1. Victoria - Amazing Post ...Many Thanx .It is just perfect ...so I do not need to add anything in this .I am going to borrow this to read this daily myself and make some of my known people read this whose Poor ,victim mindset needs lots of working !!

      2. @Annie, while I understand your points, Healthcare, like many other things people believe are rights- like pensions and Social Security, are privileges. The same with health benefits.

Do I think the healthcare system is totally broken? Damn right it is. But, America is a very large and diverse country. Most European countries and Canada have a lot less population.

Oh, and be prepared to be taxed to death if we end up with it. That will punish a lot of people who are already struggling while the "greedy rich people" won't feel a hit.

In fact, most of the taxes for the "greedy rich people" affect the middle and working classes. It's an excuse to get new tax laws passed because the taxes are on the income of the individual, and not their business or other earnings.

Oh, and without the "greedy rich people" you wouldn't have your iPhone, or affordable cars, or clothing which you can buy off a rack instead of making your own. As a creative type, who would patronize the arts?

Who would lend/give seed money to help causes?

The government certainly wouldn't. It would be "for the common good", which does not work.

Take the inheritance taxes for example. A friend of mine stands to inherit a lot of farm land, but guess what?

Most of the money he would see from selling the land would go to support inefficient government programs which have way too many employees and are stuck in the past, and he would be left with very little cash to use to forward his own life.

Governments clearly cannot manage money well. Look at all the states and Federal government in debt.

If a company or a person mismanages funds, they either destroy their credit rating or go bankrupt, but when a government does it, everyone pays except for the top 1% who use legal tax shelters and can shift their assets elsewhere easily.

This has happened in Germany multiple times, and is believed to be one of the triggers for WWII- people were fed up with living in poverty, which was the fault of the government making poor decisions during war time, and chose Hitler and the Nazis because of a promised land for working people.

We all know how that turned out.

Oh, and the USSR- The Great Socialist paradise.
        People suffered greatly.

Far far more than they would in a Capitalist society. While they were shooting Sputnik into space, people barely had enough to eat.

Socialism and Religion are two of the most evil tools invented for controlling people.

Do I think people should be treated well? Do I think people should help other people?

People help other people, not Jesus or the Teamsters. My biggest problem with Unions is no one really wins. It increases prices for consumers by allowing crappy employees to keep their jobs, gets in the way of the company actually making money so people can get paid and advance, and teaches employees they are not worthy of their own individual success.

People make or break the world, and I tire of group think. I'd rather sit down with someone like Randy and talk about his Dodge Viper and his latest take to change the world, than unchanging unmoving people in management or employees who believe everything is safe all the time.

Life is never totally safe- you can live that in one of two ways-

        Be scared all the time
        Have an adventure

When people give up who they are, and settle for allowing someone to use them, we end up with banks that exploit people and dysfunctional relationships.

That doesn't make what the other party did OK, but I am of the opinion that only children and the truly disabled. The are truly innocent because they can not fend for themselves.

It doesn't have to be that way.

        C

    4. Annie,

What I get from RG over and over again is that he wants his "students" to be as prosperous as they can be.

Sure, it is always fun to be a "guru" and that can be celebrated; I'm sure RG enjoys it.

But the real point is that any true teacher wants his/her students to surpass him/her (do I need to be this politically correct?)
and do even better---and to pass the torch.

That is what I get from RG.

Let's all go for the greatest level of Prosperity we can acheieve--and keep on passing the torch!

  6. Yes I am a seeker and have been all my life. I know what you talk about by getting off track. I resently got back on track, because I had manages to create a very difficult financial situation for myself, never done it that good before, and that is because I got off track too long. But I also learned by your example, that you can do everything at the same time. That is why I like your video "How to create your dream life", so much. It completely knocked me off my feet, when I saw that. That video made me follow you. I cannot live without personal development, for me it is the base for everything else I do, and it gives me the strength.

  7. @Annie, I'm quit sure you misinterpret the message that Randy is trying to get across here.

  8. I used to look for gurus or experts, thinking they had the answers. What I came to realize is, I was attracted to such people because they were the metaphorical mirrors that reflected my best qualities back to me. I was chasing images of myself.

Yes, those guides can assist me in accessing my best qualities; however, my personal challenge is accepting that I already have those excellent characteristics. And I can choose to create a lot of drama (or no drama) as I allow those qualities to blossom.

  10. Again, thanks for this Randy... i agree.. i think we all are sooo busy we just don't stop and listen anymore... i also find that we have sooo much more distraction that ever before which also calls for us to be even more diligent in taking time for ourselves to get still and listen to our own inner wisdom and guidance... to stop always looking outside of ourselves for that guidance... if we just stop, get quiet and listen - the answers are there...
    blessings.. weaver (((o)))

  11. I didn't want to help myself from getting in one last blog before I fly the friendly??? skys. I am so pleased that Randy brought this topic to the blog. When we are driven, as so many are on this site, it's typical to keep reaching for the next fix. I would agree with Randy that it's inside all of us but would add that there is only one way to get it. Everyone who believes in our savior Jesus, can, and it is his spirit that will bring us places we could not even concieve of, if we not only pray, but paciently wait for a response. We can only do that if we find contentment and grace in the moment, and be still with expectation. I know that there are many different religious beliefs on this site and I respect that, but I have experienced the transformation that occurs by doing this and continue to. It it said in the Bible that God will change our hearts and minds if we surrender. If we ask for anything, in Gods will, with unwavering faith and expectation, we will receive it if it is Gods' will for us. Just give it a try and I will wait in expectation for your beautiful transformations.
Thank you for the well wish's for my trip. I'm feeling the love.

  12. I believe that one can "be still & know" and yet benefit from having a teacher.
One moment I am still and knowing; one different moment, I am learning.

When we give up seeking, we don't necesarily stop learning.

    Dat's my opinion.

  13. Brotha Randy I totally get this. Simply Brilliant and inspiring. I am the one and we are the one. Thank you so much.

  14. I am..

Perhaps THE most powerful statement we can make.

Being present in this moment, I AM THE ONE.

    There are no others.

    I AM..

BTW, Did you see "Atlas Shrugged" yet? Just curious.. Haven't made it yet, but the book as we all know, is amazing 🙂

    1. Yes I got to it last weekend. Simply loved it! And immediately went to the box office and bought ten tickets for the next show, just to support the work of the producers.

      -RG

  15. Hi RG,

We look without when we should look within.

Someone may be a cause for inspiration, but guess who chooses to be inspired? Each individual is their #1 personal development guru. Nothing outside of you can change your life quite like you do, for you are making the moment to moment choices which mold your reality.

    Thanks Randy!

    RB

  16. Hi Randy,

this constant looking for something can be as detrimental success as walking through life in complete unconsciousness. We should never forget that taking action is the bridge from our inner world to the outer, physical world.

    Thanks for sharing your insights.

    Take care

    Oliver

  17. Randy,

    Great post!

One of my teachers told me years ago that "Prople are silently begging to be led."

And that is true for much (most?) of humanity.

But all of the great Masters told us that we already have "IT" inside us all the time.

Jesus: "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you."

Buddha: "Be ye lamps unto yourselves."

Confucius: "YOU can hear the 'command of Heaven.'"

Hindu scripture: "Know the Self as the embodiment of pure consciusness and the witness of all."

    And the list goes on......

    Thanks for a great reminder!

  18. Hi randy, I'm lost. I'm a 28, educated, no family whatsoever and unemployed. I used to make money off a lil business venture I established, then all of a sudden things go south and for the past few months I've been reduced to zilch. Not a dime and very depressed. I've even considered suicide. I need some help here.

    1. Leonard, those are serious words. Considering suicide is well, lethal. I don't know where you live, but please get some help somewhere. Friends or therapist, anyone who will listen and be helpful.

Every life is so important so beautiful Leonard, we need you.

If you have access to a Community Mental Health Center, go there. Many times, they not only give assistance with mental health, but they should also know about resources available to help you find shelter. You can also try United Way, Salvation Army, etc. It would help if we know where you lived. I only know about America.

      Hang in there Leonard.

      Annie

      K♥

Yes,"Sometimes you just have to be still and know."-RG

          Rgds
          Vineet

      Lene

    7. @Annie, I'm quit sure you misinterpret the message that Randy is trying to get across here. It's quit contrary to a heroes journey. To be still and know that I am the one means that I can put down the heroes journey and know that I was created to be infinite, so the possibility's are infinite for my life.

    15. Hi RG,

We look without when we should look within.

Someone may be a cause for inspiration, but guess who chooses to be inspired? Each individual is their #1 personal development guru. Nothing outside of you can change your life quite like you do, for you are making the moment to moment choices which mold your reality.

      Thanks Randy!

    16. Hi Randy,

this constant looking for something can be as detrimental success as walking through life in complete unconsciousness.

        Annie
