Who Is More Dangerous?

Posted By: Randy GageMarch 16, 2013

If you meet a man who owns red slippers, purple robes, and a car with bulletproof windows, one thing is certain…

He is either a drug dealer form the ‘hood, or a sitting Pope.

Here’s what is not so certain:  Which of the two is more dangerous to your health and well being.

      1. @Randy_Gage  @peacewonk It's a question that should not just be asked of the Church but also of anyone else claiming Authority over others.People in the mental health profession who consider a lot of what makes us human and individuals to be mental illness.Doctors who prescribe drugs with harmful side effects because they "work".Business people who prey on fear and insecurity to sell a product. The American school system is set up to create and reward subserviency and allegiance to authority, preparing people for the possibility of a Middle Class or if you're lucky, Upper Middle Class existence. If you don't get good grades, high SAT scores, or attend the "right" colleges, never go, or drop out, you are taught that you deserve to be poor. Then there are Unions which claim to protect the rights of individual people but they hold back the leaders and the risk-takers and reward the lazy and corrupt. Then there are business owners/leaders who listen to no one or they believe that focusing on data will solve everything.Business leaders/owners that only hire people who attended the best schools, regardless of whether the people they hire are a good fit or are even good at what they do.And don't get me started on the Government.I could go on for quite awhile.

I agree.... an unwarranted attack..  The enjoy your writing Randy... keeping true to your principles there is no need to attack... there are those who can believe in the mystism of the church, acceting the human fraility of those those who lead.... theres is pure goodness only in our God and flaws in all who clam to speak for God...

  1. The most dangerous of the two for me would be the one who requires my believing that he is a true representative of our Source and as a result I should trust his motives and believe he has my best interests at heart. The guy from the hood requires neither.

  3. The Pope. The drug dealer is just pushing a product to distract from life. The Pope is promising salvation while demeaning people and encouraging them to stay poor.

  17. This is probably one of the most important questions a person could and should seriously consider for the sake of themselves, their family and ultimately their country.

From personal experience I would have to say by far the most dangerous person is the one I believed had my best interests at heart... while all the while undermining my freedom, my prosperity and sabotaging my mind with insidious beliefs that this was what 'God' wanted. And even more dangerous is when that person also truely believes they have my best interests at heart

  19. I'm not a Christian but I do know how wide the influence of a Pope can be. Considering Christianity is one of the largest organized religion in the planet. The title "Pope" is not really dangerous, in fact, the title I believe is created for the good. BUT, the person who is holding the title can be dangerous. So, depending on who is holding the title of the "Pope," the Pope can be much, much, much dangerous than a drug dealer.

  24. The Pope makes decisions about birth control for women. That means is he is a danger to women who cannot deal well with pregnancy; women with difficult hormonal issues; men and women who would rather have a smaller family in order to provide proper care and nutrition for their children. I see that as unrealistic and therefore a danger.

  26. Pretty Good question!

Both are equally dangerous, i suppse the drug dealer is harmful in a physical way, while the pope is harmful in a mental way

    1. @EternalFreedom Don't you think mental scars are more serious than physical ones?

Besides, I think the sphere of influence of a pope is, unfortunately, vastly larger than that of a drug dealer.

  28. Great question...love the fact that you ask the questions most are afraid to ask!  I commend you for your boldness... I do agree with  @ThomasMrak and @carmen161595   and think that the Pope is more dangerous compared to a drug dealer.  Someone like the Pope that is widely accepted by the general public has so much more control over mass consciousness whereas a drug dealer in the hood only has control over a smaller area thus not as likely to impact the whole of the world.  Also the catholic church has deep deep roots in controlling the masses through manipulation and fear under the guise of freedom and salvation.  A drug dealer does not promise freedom and salvation - he/she just provides escape from reality, no promises.  The trap of the mind through manipulation and control of the church is much more dangerous to the whole of consciousness than drug dealers.  At the end of the day, the truth is that everyone is as free in their mind as they want to be - no one can control us unless we allow them to so church or no church the kind of question Randy Gage asked is really the point - ask the hard questions to yourself to ensure you are free and not being led by someone else's opinion or rule.  Thanks again Randy Gage - great conversation starter 🙂

  30. You are disappointing me Randy.. You always claimed to be religiously neutral and I preciated it. But now you give an equals sign between the pope and drug dealer? Isnt this your own mind virus?

    1. @drohtnian
If the pope says : it's spiritual to be poor or it's noble to be poor. Do live a life of prosperity if you follow that advice ?? So in that way he's dangerous for you if you not recognize it.

      1. @million dollar That makes sence, but in this case dangerous can be anybody, who has enough credibilty. But just pointing at the possible danger, you shouldnt judge an existing man for beeing worse or better than a drug dealer. Right? Lets say, that a pope can be very dangerous, but also very helping, it depends on what he says..

  34. Think this one through. RG knows....if you think for yourself, you are free from danger. If you proceed without thinking why you are thinking, or if you are thinking because people tell you to think a certain way, you could be killing yourself.

        1. @BerniceTempleman1 No, I don't think so either.Hinduism has classism built into the religion, and has justifications for it in religious texts. Not to mention the reincarnation thing.Buddha was a prince who gave up everything he had after being exposed to the suffering people outside the Royal Palace experienced. Yep. Christianity doesn't have a monopoly on telling people to live crappy lives because money and comfort make people evil.

  43. Thinking we can look at how we value ourselves, work , money, taking care of our body,  relationships, etc...

Are you beating yourself up in any of these areas?
Are you grateful & practicing daily gratitude for all of these things?

Maybe by being grateful for my health & my body, I won't over work (work 24/7) etc.

And also thinking the world values money... but what about the value of a positive, happy attitude?

How much good does that put out to the world...
So by taking time to relax & enjoy things, we can put out good energy.
We are giving positive energy to the world.
By taking care of our bodies, we will feel better... maybe complain less.

Is talking about all of our injuries complaining or bragging?
or is it being a victim?

thinking we can't ignore what are body is telling us...
if it is in pain, why?
How can we treat it, help it?
    Maybe change our focus.
What can we be grateful for?

One tribe allows members to tell their stories 3 times, then they will not listen... maybe to prevent focusing on the past, negative, victim-hood, etc.

      1. And thinking Byron Katie's "The work" helps us to look at what we are saying & thinking.. and then ask ourselves if it is true... can you find examples of it being false? Our thoughts make us feel unhappy... so if we question them & turn them around.. we find peace & happiness...

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he" Proverbs 23:7

  44. peacewonk i see the purpose of creating critical thinking. Its not an attack, its helping us to realize anyone who respected or with authority can be more dangerous than the drug dealer..because it controls masses based on limiting belief and ponders to limiting memes to create anonymous dependent people..

    38. very funny 🙂 however still wonder what common message are they sending to masses..because 'a picture worth a thousand words', right ? 🙂

    40. Have you read  "The Twelve Chairs" by Ilf and Petrov??
Address priest: How much opium for the people?
