When Are You Fixed?

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 7, 2011

In the recent post about my friend who is a pleaser, I told you the world is filled with lack-programmed people who think they want to be rich.   And the message from my friend certainly was ample evidence of that.

She was certain that the issue was nothing to do with her prosperity consciousness.  Yet that whole “pleaser” thing comes from not believing that you are worthy.  And that is a real prosperity lack issue.

Like many of you, she has been to seminars, read books, and did affirmations.  But we are trying to undo YEARS (often decades) of lack programming.

The reason that motivated me to start this blog and write you a daily message was just this issue.  Not only have you likely been receiving lack programming for decades, but you’re still getting assaulted with it every day.

I write this blog to counter program against some of this stuff you’re still being exposed to.  I'm also working with you to change your thought processes, and create a better mindset.  Which leads to the next question, and one I hear a lot…

“When do I get fixed?”

That’s like asking, “When have I reached perfection?”  And the problem with that question is that it is a contradiction.

Because you are already perfect.  And perfection by its very nature is never attained.  If you become the perfect human today, what happens tomorrow when you gain even just a little more knowledge, wisdom and compassion?

It’s like saying, “I have arrived!”  Well where do you go from there?  I hate to rehash the whole “enjoy the journey” clichés, but they really are true.  You have to love the trip, and know that there will be many more destinations.  Till one day you are at the last destination, too soon, with no warning.  So, you’ve got to live your life every day.

Now while I don’t think you ever get "fixed,” I do believe that you reach certain milestones.  I’m at a point now where I notice the lack programming in books, TV shows and movies.   I’m immune to most of the rackets that lack-centered people try to put over on me.  And I recognize the dangers that come from accepting things from the government and organized religion without questioning them.

So while I’m at a point where I am manifesting continuously better levels of health, happiness and wealth, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a lack thought now and then.  But it does mean that they get farther and farther apart.  And that’s the good news…

The longer you work on your consciousness, the better your quality of life gets.  And then one day, the positive thoughts reach the magical threshold of 51 percent.  And once that happens, the positives build on the positives and things really accelerate.  And while you’re not “perfect,” you’re “fixed.”

Ain’t it great!

  2. There's no doubt about RG, its not easy work at times. I am very interested in hearing more about the 51 percent? If I've got something sort of tangible to aim for, I can keep a focus, keep going. 3 weeks I can feel awesome, powered up to the point it irritates others around me with prosperity mindset, and in the nicest possible way do I irritate. The for 2 weeks, its hard work! But I want it, I want it bad! Cool post again RG. Thanks

  3. yes i will strive to do this everyday of my life. Always get better. Even though we can gain success super fast, we can lose it just as fast. Dedication to constantly move forward! with that.....we're always on a journey =D

  4. Today, one of my friends posted a photo of himself on FB with a comment "Me and my new girlfriend". In that photo he was positioned next to a dinosaur... (And he does not have a girlfriend) I suggested that he does not affirm such lack, even as a joke. And I am going to have a chat with him about those self depreciating jokes, too.

But why am I writing about this?

It is a milestone for me, one like Randy mentions. I notice more and more lack statements - both in myself and others - and today was the first time I actually commented on that to someone and in public (on FB)!

Thank you, Randy, for holding the prosperity space for us!

  5. Great post as usual, Randy. Thanks for telling me I don't seek "a place" or a finish line but continue on the process called ME!

    My daily journey continues....

  6. Hi Randy.

I have been reading and listening to many over the last 20 years. Mandino, Zigler, Rohn, Robbins, Dwyer among others, have "primed the pump" along the way and you have tied many of the pieces together for me, allowing the "waters" to flow.
    Thank You, I appreciate you!
    Have a brilliant one.

    Brian

  7. "Till one day you are at the last destination, too soon, with no warning."

Randy, I agree with what you're saying and I know you were being poetic, but I have to point out that that sentence has a touch of "lack" to it. If we lead a full, rich life, savoring every moment, then death does not necessarily arrive "too soon, with no warning." But it's true --- if we do NOT lead a fulfilled life, then death certainly arrives too soon, regardless of how long we manage to postpone it.

Love this post! (And I love you, guy!) Thanks!

It IS an amazing feeling when you reach the 51% threshold. (and 52% is even better! 😉 ) Sort of feels like you start paddling ‘with’ the stream at that point instead of ‘against’ it. And once you arrive at that place, the more you paddle, the more momentum you are able to gain. And do you know what else happens? (At least it did for me!) You get more protective, selective and far less tolerant!

You choose where you spend your time far more carefully.
You choose who you spend your time around far more cautiously.
You choose what projects, activities and conversations you put your energy into far more deliberately.
You choose how you treat your body and your spirit with a lot more reverence.
You choose what external influences you are going to allow access to your belief systems.

It is here that everything starts to get measured against the yardstick of your purpose … everything gets run through a one question filter - “Does this serve the vision I have for myself?” Does it serve me to believe in this idea, to engage with this person, to give myself over to this behavior? And the more you ask the questions, the better you become at discernment and the more quickly the answers begin to become obvious – and you start to ‘feel’ it when you’re getting off track without having to think so much about it.

And I think maybe the most amazing part in all of it (this shifting of consciousness) is that once you have spent the time required to intentionally adjust your focus and you begin to get a good strong handle on it, the Universe shows up in full force to gift you with the most incredible synchronicities – opportunities, support, funding, contacts and your efforts are graciously rewarded – it gives you more to be grateful for (and more to be responsible with!) It’s sort of like the feeling of getting your ‘big person allowance’! …

And then, you get the chance to sign up for a whole new set of chores – but the kind that move your soul! 😉

    Love it!

    K

    1. Brilliant comment !! sent tingles through me LOL ! spot on my friend, more power to you !
and thanks RG - a true leader !

    2. Dear Kimbralee,
thank you for letting us having a glance of things to come. And for doing it so poetically yet with clarity. That vision is inspiring and helps to keep "paddling".
It also provides "energetic feel" that I can direct myself towards.
      Larissa

    3. Thanks for the enthusiastic comments Simon and Larissa. 🙂

I think it is worth sharing here – I know for me personally, while I am nowhere near having every last thing I want in my life, I'm definitely getting closer and closer every day to my world looking the way I dream for it to be. And maybe the most significant change in perspective I noticed after getting over the 51% hump was: now, it is simply a question of ‘when’ all those desired results will be firmly in place, not ‘if’ they will ever show up. One question asked in faith … one asked in fear. HUGE difference! 😉

And I don’t know about anyone else's experience, but mine personally has shown me that the gap between 51% and %100 is proportionately smaller than the one between 1% and 50%! I think momentum has everything to do with that. The first frontier to conquer is the mental, you MUST decide you are worthy. Then, once you know your own value, the Universe has an open invitation to send you opportunities that allow you to take inspired action. Voila – the birth of your passion/purpose. And finally, what comes next can ultimately be none other than ‘Great Success’! (I’m gaining ground on that daily and absolutely loving the process. a.k.a.: the joy of the journey!)

It starts with little accomplishments … then, when you handle them well, God shows up with bigger and bigger plans for you. What a complete honor.

      So grateful. 🙂

  9. That's why I think it is so important for healers to have regular meetings with other healers or anyone seeking wellness and prosperity to fill themselves up with uplifting messages not only on their own but within the community. I agree that on your own you can gradually improve your subconscious programing until it starts the law of attraction effect for the good. But it is so important that we also create more options for ourselves to meet regularly to affirm our own wellness. Not just help others. And not just offer expensive healing treatment plans and workshops...those are great and have a place, but in order for them to stick, something on a regular basis is needed.

I think it is so important for healers or teachers to manifest community support for themselves before going on to teach wellness to others. That way they are not the only ones supporting their own wellness.

When we hold the space vitality and prosperity can flow, but if we try to do more than hold the space sometimes we are getting in the way. That is a veige statement, I write it more for my own affirmation.

This blog as well as your offering more courses demonstrates this to me and that is one of the reasons I like hearing from you. I really see you creating prosperity using spiritual and natural laws..and that is my goal too.

To work with those laws to create those results. The results affirm that your working with the laws and that to me is the most important part, the effects are just mirrors to show you how your doing. So trying to get them in any other way is missing the whole point.

Real joy is better than drug induced joy.

Real wealth is better than inheritance.

True health and wellness is better than requiring the world around you to be pristine in order for you to feel good.

It can get confusing sometimes because creating good circumstances is close to wanting them regardless of how you get them. But when you focus on the spiritual laws you can let go of wanting to control results and focus on creating them.

      1. Jim, I'd like to join you in your comment! 🙂

Eve, that is how I do it now: if things, people, situations keep coming then I think "ok, what can I adjust, what is yet not working, where I am still doing things not in line with the spiritual laws?".

Was quite confrontational once I realized... 🙂 no more to blame others, to bitch, to be a victim... So empowering now. And so reassuring: when little minor things start happening and you see you are on the right path (especially when you are in the first 10-20% 🙂 and in training).

        Thank you!

        Larissa

        1. Larissa,

I love to hear that. I am so grateful to all of those who do whatever they can to live this way. It makes me soooo hopeful and happy!

          so...thank you!

          Eve

  10. Great Post as always Randy. I really do think Life is all about being happy with where you are at the moment, and not worrying about anything else except that moment. To quote one of the best movies, Kung Fu Panda, "You are too concerned with what was and with what will be. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present."

  11. Hi Randy,

Is 51% the magical number where the energy shifts and becomes manifest into reality?

If so, then well worth riding the energy wave and clearing those limiting beliefs Gary Craig the founder of EFT refers to them as a forest where you chop one tree down at a time until you've cleared the way. 🙂

Thank You for the work you do

  12. Randy,

Wanted to let you know I just got the book you mentioned in the last Prosperity TV video, "Daily Enlightenment" by Dan Millman. It's clearly a book we would all benefit from and worth the time. And I mention this because it's a valuable tool to getting to the 51% level. Thanks for the recommendation!

  13. Was buying some tonic soda the other day and it was $2.75 at one of those rip off markets... was going to look for some place cheaper, then thought no wait, that's lack programming... so I bought it, just hate getting ripped off, but fought the lack programming...

  14. Thanks for sharing another nice post. I want to mainly focus my comment on the part of the post about reaching perfection. As I read your post today, I can't help thinking that you may be feeling somewhere down inside that you too must seek a certain level of your perfection today - now - or else you feel guilty not doing your best. Or you're often dealing with people around you talking and acting like they have reached their perfection who get on your nerve. If there are people like that around me, I will tell you now what and how I would act around them with my face saying, 'BS!' There are no such human beings here on earth who are perfect. Only God is. So, seeking to become perfect is not an issue. It's out of our picture. Period. And we don't need to think we must become perfect either, and if we do...for what. How could we, when we are merely creatures, not God. It is like a little puppy that we brought home to enjoy raising and smiling over. Would this little puppy strive for becoming perfect. It's us who enjoy watching and train them to grow so that it would have a better sense. The same thing is true with God about us. We are only humans that were created by God. So, I agree with you as to how you feel about perfectionism. It's so irritating and bullshit! That's why I don't go to church like I used to. However, I do believe there is definitely only one perfect creator - GOD who sends us all events of life and signs and wonders for us to learn what He intends for us to learn and grow, which in turn put smiles on His face, accomplishing his purposes and love, just like parents being happy and fulfilled, seeing their kids grow, and their love for each other grow year by year. It's not a formula. Until we really learn that there is God, until we really learn He created us and loves us so much, and until we really learn to see for ourselves that the bond between us and this God of ours who is closer than our breath, powerful, and loves us so dearly is very real, we're merely trying so hard on our own to be good and perfect... it's funny...but, for what... to get recognition from people and from the world even in this thing called 'spirituality.' It's BS, if we do that. We're missing the point. Our faith in God and love for God are not the thing to show off or to tell the world how perfect we are or want to be. It's between us and God personally , and it's our love for God personally. If you love someone in the natural, you would want to please her/him coz you love the person, not necessarily to show to her or him how perfect/great you are. It becomes automatic and natural to want to please the person, instead of drag her/him down coz you love the person. The same with us for God. It's not a formula or becoming perfect. Who cares what others would think or organized religion would do. I would leave those bullshit people alone.

"So while I’m at a point where I am manifesting continuously better levels of health, happiness and wealth, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a lack thought now and then. But it does mean that they get farther and farther apart. And that’s the good news…"

Of course, we do have a lack thought every now and then. You know why... simply because we're humans, and as long as we live in this body, nevertheless we know down inside certain things are not building us up and keeping us away from where we are heading to, lowering our integrity and self-worth, we have our human wishes/desires and self-centeredness inside all of us that are in contrary. Everyday is often a struggle but like you said, the positive thoughts reach the magical threshold of 51%, and then the positive build on the positive and things really accelerate. I agree with that. Yes, we’ve got to live our life every day and learn to savor every moment that life brings to the fullest. Everyday is like every page of a book that we flip over to finish reading the whole book - whether it be a thick 90-page book or 30- or 40-page book.

    "Ain't it great!"
    Yes, it is.

Thanks for sharing the great post that I came across today! Love to you, RG, and love to ya all. Hug hug hug::: -Saach PS Sorry about my English (not from us or uk) このブログ感謝です。 🙂

  15. Perhaps we could all give ourselves a much deserved break and shift from a thought of perfection to a thought of excellence.

Perfection focuses on what is wrong, excellence focuses on what is right.
Perfection stems from a desire to be better then everyone else. Excellence stems from a desire to be the best you, you can be.
Perfection operates by control. Excellence operates by honor.

Honor yourself; be grateful for who you are and how far you've come. Excellence is committed to constant and never ending improvement.

  16. Sometimes when I'm not feeling very empowered, I wonder if I've actually made much progress. Then, in more inspired, empowered moments, perhaps when I receive compliments from others, I realise just how far I really have come. The compounding effect of reading every day plus all the other little and not so little things I've done over the years have really made a huge difference. I worked out just the other day that I've been following Randy for over 10 years now. That's got to have made a difference, right? If I actually bother to compare myself to the average person I can see just how differently I think and behave.

  17. In NLP I have learned and many do this outside of the words "NLP", that asking the right questions can help presupposes something that the person hasn't thought of.

For example: Asking What's the problem presupposes there is a problem. However, asking how do you want to be different presupposes you just want to change and not "fix" anything.

Another input is that every behavior, good or bad, has a positive intention behind it. There's a reason for that behavior. That behavior is serving you right now somehow and in order to change it, you must address the intention of it.

For example, a smoker may want to continue smoking to comfort himself, and one way to help the person stop smoking is to find an alternative behavior that will help comfort them (not saying this is the most effective technique as every person is different).

Point being made that we all do what we do because it serves us. We do it because we are right for who we are at that time. We may want to change it up. We may want to be different. We don't need fixing as fixing presupposes we are broken and by all means we are not. Perhaps we need to rewire some things to get to where we want but the way we are wired now is working as we are living breathing and doing our things.

Thrive to be different, not fix.

  18. Randy,

We certainly can fall prey to thinking there is something in us that needs to be fixed when in reality we just need to remember who we really are.

    Thanks for the great message,

    Karen

  19. Great Post Randy..

I think awareness is the key.

U need to become aware of whats going into your mind and what thoughts u are thinking..

The more positivity u have in ur life, the quicker u'll get to that elusive 51%

  20. I am a happy and positive person, and strongly believe that every problem has a solution. Depression, confusion, lack of self-love, lack of self-esteem, and lack of self-respect are unknown to me. I appreciate everything in my life - no matter how little it may be. Money is important but if one can not be happy with a small amount, fortune will not improve the miserable state of mind. Thinking about being happy will not bring happiness. As well as thinking about prosperity will not bring riches. Happiness and wealth take action. By that I mean, constantly making changes to things that are not satisfying or damaging to self. And persistenly moving forward looking at the past as learning experience instead of regretting it and becoming overwhelmed with self-pity and self-doubt. Therefore, I do not believe that there is such a thing as "being fixed". But there is such a thing as self-improvement through knowledge and practice.
