Remember our discussions last week about your assignment and purpose? Finding your assignment can seem to be a daunting task.
Over the last few days we’ve seen the tragedy in Norway, the famine in Somalia, the EU and US teetering on insolvency, Yemen and Syrian forces killing unarmed peaceful protesters, more details emerging about the radiation contamination of the Japanese food supply, and plenty of other grim realities of life here on earth.
In the face of all this, it’s easy to feel inconsequential and small, powerless to protect many who need us. The temptation is to throw up your hands and retreat into isolation.
But you’re not inconsequential, and you can make a difference…
No matter what your assignment is, I can promise you one thing about it. It involves you simply being the best you that you can be.
There are plenty of challenges facing the world today, but it serves no one to dwell on them. Dwell instead on the good. If you want to see the world liberated from misery and gloom, liberate yourself from misery and gloom. If you want your world to be happy, choose happiness for yourself.
The way to transform the world is to transform yourself. For you can give nothing better to the world than becoming more. Be a beacon of life and love and watch it spread to all the corners of darkness surrounding you.
Plant a tree, share a smile, give a flower. Visit a sick person, call an elderly relative, send someone a note of encouragement.
Yes the world needs you to step into greatness. But that greatness is your true self; simply being you. That’s the gift to give the world.

We can be victims of life or we can be champions of it! I love having the choice...how powerful!
Hi Randy, thanks, heaps, yes, I fully concur. I had the privilige of volunteering twice a week and the Assisi Hospice, helping to feed patients their breakfasts and just befriending them. very heart breaking to see them in pain (although palliative care was given) and it was a merciful relief to bid them farewell. Prior to that I was vlunteering at Little sistes of the Poor washing dishes and feeding the chronic sick. Really enjoyed the times there and happy. But, now duty calls and am serious building up a business and am excited. Thanks again, I enjoy all your articles.
Your post reminds me of Gandhi's quote " Be the change you want to see in the world."
So true. We can not hope to control the world but we can control our world.
Some inspirational gurus pride themselves in never reading the papers or listening to the news. One says " its just the same things happening to different people over and over again." I think it is important to know what is going on in the world - especially in such a fast changing world. When we hear about the bombings in Oslo and elsewhere we can send love to the families and also remind ourselves how fragile life is and be grateful for every day by living it to the full.
I was so sad to learn of Amy Winehouse's death or probable suicide yesterday. She was scheduled to sing at a festival here in Switzerland last night. Messed up as she was she was so talented and so great in many ways. Just like Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and Jim Morrison she departed at only 27. I often say to my teenage children - "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God ( which is within ) and all these things will be added onto you." I do think love is the most important thing to be truly great and everything else is a bonus. Those tormented souls don't have love peace and joy. I am certainly not against riches but I do think the chapter in 1 Corinthans 13 about love is very wise - "If I have all the talent in the world and have not love I am no more than a clanging symbol." Yet again - Love is the answer.
PS A few months ago you ( Randy) encouraged us to have a fitness goal - I enrolled in the Geneva triathlon then and did it today. 8 am start in the lake -freezing thanks to all the recent rain but envigorating. Thank you for that great advice. I will now train for the next one. Having something to train for is the best way to get out there, keep in shape, have fun and do your very best.

I just loved this post. I have been looking for ways to be more "off the grid" lately and instead I will take advantage of my talents and assets to help others be healthy and prosperous, one person at a time. I have so much love to share and you as a partner, who could lose?
When you realise the strength of a nation is determined by the strength of each individual in that nation. It is the responsibility of everyone to grow. When you step up you do make a difference. Apply this principle to anything. This post makes so much sense.

excellent point: It all starts with us: Freedom, happiness, health, wealth, everything. We might not be able to control everything because we're still humans, are we not ? But if we fail to control ourselves, we won't have the slightest chance of success and fulfillment. However, how many people falsely believe they can start controlling and changing others instead of themselves ? It seems so much easier...

Randy, I want to share some thoughts about my prosperity with you, conserning this post.
A year ago, when I started to study network marketing, I have visited many schools of success, till this june.
But it happened, that I didn't reach result I want in this business. I lost myself, my interests stopped being mine. I started to fulfil someone's programm, and it was not my wish.
Now I feel much more free and I have found new partners and clients.
JUST BECAUSE I BECAME MYSELF.
