Using Ideas for Prosperity

Posted By: Randy GageSeptember 22, 2010

Last post I gave the example of my teammate with all the computer skills who doesn’t make money versus me with no skills who does.  You guys really crushed it in the comments, so I don’t think we need to belabor that.  It’s definitely worth a read if you didn’t see them.

But I will add one more thing…

And this will be no surprise to you if you follow my Prosperity TV channel on YouTube. I believe the biggest difference is I harvest the power of ideas.  Ideas are the way we manifest prosperity on the physical realm.

I get my ideas because I hone and exercise my creative instincts continuously.  You’ll find most wealthy and successful people are creative.  Creativity gives you great critical thinking skills, and thus great problem solving skills.  (That’s why I give you certain challenges in the Mental Aerobics.)  And creativity causes you to innovate, create and imagine bold new things.  Which can often make you rich.

So what are you doing to stimulate ideas for your prosperity?  I’ll share some of my tips on the next post.

  1. Indeed I could not agree with you more and I am blessed that ideas and related problem solving is one of my greatest passions and subsequent barometers of performance. However I also believe execution is key ...indeed CREATIVITY, is one of the most exciting gifts to exercise! Love your expansion on this!

  2. Ideas are definitely the energy ingredient in manifestation. Think and Grow Rich even points this out. Andrew Carnegie even said that in running a business it Is not necessary for a man to know everything about everything as long as he can surround himself with people who do. Ideas and creativity are what brings the technical aspects together. Innovation is a wonderful word that illustrates what I am talking about. Innovation is the marriage of creativity and technical know-how. Just like technical acuteness, creativity alone won't do it either. This is why the term "starving artist" even exists. Ideas are where it all begins, but everyone has ideas. They say the average person has 4 "million dollar" ideas a year. I think its acting on those ideas. He who acts will win. Be a computer techie, a carpenter, an author, or a waitress, if you have a good idea, and act on its fulfillment, your chances of success are tremendous.

  3. Did I miss the answers to your quiz?? intellectual curiousity.. ha ha... I tried out for Jeopardy once.. just missed the cut... it's tough... quoted Dylan, this useless and pointless knowledge, except when you try out for Jeopardy Bob...

  4. I have read all the books you suggest and I still keep letting the past control my thoughts..Not good.
Help! I don't want to live this way. I have many regrets and a lot of guilt.

    1. Reading millions of books is not good enough. Never let your past of failures control your thoughts. If you keep doing that, I'm going to get your butt spanked. Detach your past, and as our master says... "as you believe and pray, you get off your ass." You've got to take action! Do you get that. Mad love to ya.

    2. What a great reply to Anonymous. I'd also like to add if you begin to repeat to yourself "it's all an illusion that I've created for myself. The present is my point of power and my power of action is now".

If you start repeating this to yourself over and over you'll find you don't have time to dwell in the past as much.

If you find yourself dwelling in the past remember it only takes 68 seconds to change your thought. Hold a better thought for 68 seconds and the law of attraction begins to kick in.

You'll get a better thought and a better one and on it goes.

  5. Creative ideas of ways to prospect and or bring prospects to you Is a big key in staying excited and on the edge. Example: A team member had a 3" button that says "I'm so excited ask me why" she is getting a lot of contacts with this simple idea. It's not for everyone. But there are many ideas of ways to get contacts.

    Great stuff Randy

  6. Yes, Ideas and creativity in bringing those ideas to fruition is key, but something that I was saying yesterday that maybe didn't make it to the final analysis:

Even with Creative Ideas, and even with the Action behind those creative ideas, there's a SKILL to making money that a lot of people haven't learned to cultivate.

    - There are PLENTY of people with fantastic ideas.

    - The next level is who is willing to make those ideas real.

-The next level still is actually MONETIZING those ideas, and they are each a part of going up a ladder.

All THREE of those are necessary for making money from an idea.

I can think of an idea for a great book.
I can then write that book

Now SELLING that book is a whole different game.

Unfortunately, many great things are never made because there isn't a profit to be made from it (or rather, no one comes up with the IDEA to profit from it). That's the part of our system I think needs changing.

    1. Bones, you make a great point in that being creative is a step-by-step process.

I've had more than one solid idea that I didn't see through to its manifestation. It's key to work your way through the maze of obstacles with critical thinking to reach your goal of monetizing the idea.

      Great insight guys.

      Ryan

    2. I'm just curious what you mean by "part of OUR system that needs changing"? What exactly needs changing? What and who's system are you referring to? How would you suggest it work if changed?

  7. Randy, love your posts here. You really have a way of getting people to think and go beyond the daily grind and routine. I'd love to see some insights from you on "nuts and bolts" investing ideas. I know you have been a big proponent in the past of real estate investing as a vehicle for wealth. Can you expand more on some of your current ideas, especially in the midst of the economic downturn?
    Thanks - RJ

  8. What can I say, guy, except as usual you've nailed it. In my past life I had excellent "other brained" skills - I haul multi-million dollar motoryachts overland by truck with a reputation that spans 2 continents and for time off? well, gimme a V8 and a toolbox any day or even an old 4x4 or a tractor!

But I realised I was a dinosaur and had to change so now in my time off I'm learning to blog. It hasn't been easy, the creative part of my brain took a lot of coaxing into gear but it's working now and I'm able to write stuff that some people enjoy reading.

Yes, of course I read the books: Ponder, Hill, Rand etc and I get an awesome boost in my results whenever I find another "nugget" in there which I can apply to my daily life. I've built some great daily affirmations to increase my creativity, and borrowed a few more!

Finding the creative ideas used to be my problem, but no more!
Oh, and drag racing this weekend - gotta love that with it's mix of creativity, like figuring how to fix a transmission overnight with just some duct tape and zip ties, and the other-brained side which is the mechanical ability. Great stuff.

Have an awesome second half to your week.
