Unleashing Your Energy

On Monday’s post we looked at why health is so important to manifest prosperity. Yesterday we looked at the role of food for life. Not to belabor the point, but what we’re really discussing here is how to unleash the energy you need to live a life of wonder.  One of the most important insights you’ll ever develop on prosperity is this:

Energy isn’t just a physical condition; it’s a moral virtue.

And because energy is a virtue, you can cultivate it.  And cultivate it you must, because the opposite end of the spectrum is laziness.   And prosperity lesson number two of the day is:

The lazy man does the most work.

It’s ironic, but millions of people spend so much energy avoiding doing things, they have no idea they’re exhausting themselves.  You are designed for action, not to lie inert.  The muscles, tendons, and bones of your body are fashioned for resistance.  And it is that resistance which makes them stronger.

Find the most brilliant quantum physicist you can find, and ask what is the essence of all things, and she will tell you it is energy.  It is a primal force that must be harnessed to accomplish anything of substance.

So what are some ways to have the most energy?

Food as we discussed yesterday is a big one.  That is the fuel your engine runs on.  Make sure you’re eating enough fruit and vegetables so you have good elimination.  If you have putrefying food stopped up in your digestive track, the toxins seep into your bloodstream and cause you to be tired and weak, and suffer from candidiasis or chronic fatigue syndrome.  (Great book on this subject is The Yeast Connection by William Crook, M.D.)

Another overlooked factor is sleep.  Most people are sleep deprived.  Go to bed when you’re tired.  Do it early enough so you wake up for work on time, when you’re finished sleeping.  If you’re using an alarm clock, it means you’re waking up before your body is getting the rest it needs.  Sleep is when the heavy work of recharging and regenerating is done.

Exercise also helps energy.  You need to get moving.  Maybe you think it’s a chicken or the egg thing, or believe exercise will make you tired.  But it’s actually the opposite.  Exercise will revitalize your energy.

If you exercise, eat well, and get enough sleep, but are still not feeling the energy you want, see a doctor.  One suggestion: before you go to a traditional one, find a doctor of Chinese medicine who performs acupuncture.   Some Western medical professionals may doubt it, but that’s just the results of their mind viruses causing them to believe drugs and surgery are the only ways to treat disease.

A good doctor of Chinese medicine will read your pulses by feeling your wrist, look at your tongue, and tell you exactly what’s wrong with you.  If you’ve never experienced it before, it’s amazing.  You’ll think one of your family members called them ahead and gave your medical history.

Acupuncture keeps energy flowing through the meridians in your body and opens any blockages.  The discomfort isn’t at all what you may think.  You barely feel the needles and the positive results are almost immediate.

I get acupuncture as my first choice for most any illness and do a couple tunes ups every year to keep the energy flowing.  If you live in South Florida, I recommend Alexandra Briand. Just know that her practice is kind of a day spa with massage, waxing, eyelash extensions and other stuff, so she’s very busy and you have to book ahead.  If you have a good acupuncturist where you live, be sure and share their info below.

  1. The Yeast Connection is a great recommendation. Chronic disease is much different than the typical diseases we think of. Chronic disease isn't "caught" like a flu or a cold.

    Chronic disease is about low-level stresses acting over time. A hidden yeast issue is one example of those low-level stresses.

    Will chronic disease kill you today or tomorrow? Probably not, but it will drastically reduce your quality of life...and that's clearly not prosperous living.

    I aim for spreading a pandemic of chronic wellness instead. Great post, Randy!

  2. Can't say enough about Acupuncture and Chinese med. my husband's shoulder pain and immobility was reversed. After the first treatment he was pain free. When he regained full mobility it was life changing.

  4. Great post Randy. I actually had knee reconstruction 2 years ago, my whole knee remained numb. I went to Dan Wright (West Michigan) and within a couple treatments I noticed a huge difference, kneeling is an option for me again!

    Randy talks about eating fruit and veggies, what a great concept. Another easy thing you can do is cut back on your red meat consumption. Our bodies have a hard time digesting it, so why not have an egg instead?

    Make sure you get that exercise in, if you struggle to motivate yourself, make some goals and look at them daily, get a workout partner or a trainer for accountability. Love yourself and you will not want to miss a day of exercise!

      Don't assume that everyone has a difficult time digesting meat. I digest it quickly and easily and my elimination works perfectly eating a large amount of meat. In fact not eating meat makes me feel like I'm missing something. Dr. Mercola writes about metabolic types - carb types, protein types and mixed types. Carb types have a habit of giving other people advice to cut back on meat or even become vegetarian. I don't believe that it's necessarily in everyone's best interests.   5. Yes, since energy is not just a physical condition, the blockage of energy can be done in many ways. One of them is false guilt. I'll give you an example.

    I had a project in my mind, very good one. very inspiring, the one that could help many people of different ages. I called a few of my friends to join me. Then, for a very particular reason, I tried to suggest one of them to divide responsibilites and become equal in partners. I used the wrong words, I think, and made him belive that I'm taking back my words, my intial offer. So we split. When I realized what I have done I was so down...I felt very, very bad. I couldn't work anymore. My energy level just dimished. I apologized many times and explained my point clearly, but felt like a damage was done. He was a good friend, I liked him so much! For many weeks I coudn't go back to my project. I couldn't do anything. My guilt just didn't let me...

    I was sitting yesterdy and thinking about it. After all, my intentions were pure. I wanted to be fair, I wanted to have a partner, not an employee. But I didn't make it clear. It was my mistake, yes. But it didn't mean that I had to pay for my mistake my whole life. And all other people, who relied on me and my project - they didn't have to pay for it. Most probably, my friend understood and forgave me (at least he said so). But I kept nagging myself for hurting him. My guilt became a point, an obsession that took away and blocked my energy for such a long time! I worked on it. I read articles about psychology of guilt, and realized what I was doing to myself. After thinking about it, I released my guilt.

    There's one more thing that I want to clarife. I understand that clutter arounf us and in minds can block the energy, too. I try to finish my to-do list, to clean my computer, to fulfil my old promises...What about those promises that you sometimes give (when you are emotional and want to make something good, for example), but realize, that it would be too hard or unfair to fulfill? Is there any "psychological" obligation fo fulfill them? Providing that you will not receive anything back...

    Have you guys ever had such a dilemma? Is it just a morality question? Any suggestions, examples? Thank you, everyone!

    1. Rishkin, I am not sure what you are saying, however, it sounds like you made promises you didn't want to, out of guilt or fear of losing someone's acceptance. Does that resonate with you? If it does I have done the same thing, and here is what I think.

      If you made a promise you should keep it, and next time, don't do it unless you want to. Easier said than done, I know. It is difficult to learn that sometimes you have to feel like you are letting others down to take care of yourself. I'm still learning, practice on people you know are understanding.

      Now, if you have promised something you absolutely can't do, you are going to have to suck it up and tell who ever it is you just can't do it. Let them be angry with you, it is okay, most people get over it. And anyways, everybody makes mistakes!!

      So, I don't know if that's what you were looking for or not, but best wishes.

      1. Annie, thank you very much for your response. I didn't make a promise out of guilt or fear. It wsn't even a promise as we understand it...I offered some people my help, just wanted to do a good thing. And it was fun, too. I can't do that anymore, even if they pay me. I just can't, for objective reasons (I we didn't expect it to happen). I can explain them everything, they agree that I don't have to assist them - after all, we didn't have any contracts or real promises. However, they started those acitivties because they relied on me and they knew that I will help them. The worst thing is that I continue to wrk on a similar project, the one that (they knew) I started at the same time with them. They see me working on it almost everyday. And I know that. And feel bad.

        Now, it is of course a morality issue, ,too. However, sometimes I feel like I owe them on some non-physical level for not keeping my "promise". And it's NOt just a feeling of guilt. It's something more (or different). Maybe I'm wrong. I just have that feeling and could't move on...

        1. Ok Rishkin, thank you for clarifying, I wasn't sure if I did understand. Anyway, I will only point out an inconsistancy in your statement and you can see what you think about it.

          You said "I didn't make a promise as we understand it...I just offered some help" in the first paragraph.

          In the second paragraph you say "I feel like I owe them on some non-physical level for not keeping my "promise".

          Rishkin did you make a promise or not? If you explained to them why you couldnt do it, and they are okay with it, why aren't you? Are you wrong or right? Only you know.

          If you did something you think is wrong, you should try to make amends for it. If you just feel guilty and you really didn't do anything wrong, and your choice to stop helping them with their project was reasonable, and everyone is okay with it, you have to let it go, you are right about that.

          Maybe you did wrong your friends, but maybe it is the best thing for you and them. That's a tough one.

          I commend you for quiting that project if it wasn't the best thing for you, and doing the one you want, I bet that took courage.

          If none of that helps, maybe try talking to the others about how you feel working on the other project. Perhaps you will find it doesn't bother them at all.

            I came back to say thank you. It took me several days to think about this situation. And yes, I do see inconsistancy in my words, but that's because I couldn't understand myself whether my words and actions were like a promise or not...Anyway, what happened just happened, and we all have to move on. It's just so hard to feel guilty, to keep working on another project while my friends see me doing it every day.

            I founad a few old fears while analyzing this matter. Fears about what others say, aboyt dishonesty and more. And issues of self-acceptance, of course. thank you for your time and for sharing your view of this matter. I appreciate it!

  9. Energy is a moral virtue. Hmm. I don't know about that. I could see where you could draw that conclusion. I think love always requires work and work takes energy. But, I am not sure if having energy in and of itself is a moral virtue.

    Maybe what you do with that energy or even the how or the why you have more energy, but still I wouldn't say energy is a moral virtue. You can aquire energy in not so good ways and you can use energy in negative ways. So, I will stick with that.

    It is good to exercise though! And it does give you more energy!

    I would like to add one other tool to the box. Prayer. It never fails when I get hit with those unexpected events that impact life from time to time. I ask for peace and endurance in full expectation. Has never failed me yet and the feeling of well being is like nothing that could come from this earth.

  11. One other thing. You mentioned the cleansers. I use a product called innerlight. It is an amazing alkalizer and I put it in water. They also have it in pill form if you don't like drinking water that looks like pond scum. It totally wipes out candita and creates great energy by saving our body the work of alkalizing.   12. I love the comment about having to wake up to an alarm clock. I heard Mark Yarnell say once, "most people wake up alarmed and stay that way all day." So true. Regarding sleep, I find that when I am engaged with life in a positive, purposeful way, I need less sleep even though I am busier and "doing" more. The reason is the more resistance we have to life, people and circumstances, the more tired we are. When we're in the flow of life, there's very little resistance, hence, we need less sleep.

    I was afraid of acupuncture because of the needles, but after I tried it the first time, i was addicted! It was so relaxing and I actually fell asleep. Exactly opposite of the torturous experience I expected!

    My acupuncturist is excellent and she is in Maryland (suburbs just north of Washington, D.C.). Her name is Wei Zhao.

  14. I've had acupuncture once. It was AMAZING! I used it after I was in a 4 car accident. Nothing was working to help my back, one session and i was a new person! Highly recommend it!

  15. When it comes to attaining & maintaining health & vitality, I use & recommend 5 aspects: Good food & water, healthy attitudes, exercise, sleep, and high quality nutritional supplements.
    I use the same supplements that so many Olympic & professional athletes use, because I trust they are both potent & pure. If those high-energy folk can trust them, they are good enough for me. Poor quality nutritionals are about as useful as poor quality food, water, sleep...etc.

    If a person's health is seriously impaired, or there is an injury, that's when treatments & remedies are needed, IN ADDITION to the 5 "attain & maintain" steps (not in place of them).

    It is crucial to take good care of our bodies. Where would we be without them?

  16. Wow. Amazing that you're writing about this at this point. I was submerged in this when I was in China & learned lots about the movement of energy (the Chinese calls it Chi/ Qi) in & through our body.

    Actually, our body is a sort of transmitter - and if any of our meridian points/ chakra chi points are blocked, it causes a whole host of sickness. Anyone who is in touch with the wisdom & philosophy of this would always want to minimize, if not completely eliminate Western medication - because they are drugs and do not treat the root cause of the problem, which is some sort of imbalance in our bodies. Worst, it covers up the real problem & throws our body system into disharmony. (PS: I'm not a physician, don't take my advice - this is just my POV.)

    The study of Yin & Yang is just a study of balance within our own bodies (micro-universe) and in relation to its relationship with the external environment. So energy is the real life source of everything, and when there is a block in the flow - in our minds (the engine), our bodies, with each other, and with our environment, it manifests as disease to help us identify the root problem.

    Which as you accurately pointed out, can be treated effectively and safely with acupuncture, meridian point massages, reflexology & Chinese herbs. Exercise is necessary to release negative energy & toxins as well as keep the circulation of everything in our bodies moving. The cycle of life & death is evident and happening in our own bodies on a second-to-second basis, and our job is just to align ourselves with natural law. It's a fascinating course of study - one that the Chinese have been perfecting for 5000 years.

    Away from home right now, will post my favorite massage therapists when I get back. Thanks for this post - it is my belief that with proper understanding of our bodies and maintenance of it together with a prosperous mindset, we can live to 200 - as a scientist once told me that our bodies were designed to last for. I think possibly longer. 😉

  17. I totally agree with the right foods will give you more energy. If you're not used to eating fruits and vegetables this may take awhile to get accustomed to. I've been living this way for a number of decades and the results show. People constantly underestimate my true chronological age. I believe it's because of the way I treat my body by the foods I digest.

  18. I'm a huge fan of Acupuncture and Chiropractic treatment methods.

    I had mild lower back pain prior to an auto accident in 1984. Months after the accident it had become a daily moderate pain in the back.

    Since auto insurance was covering the cost, I had 3 treatments of Acupuncture and to this day I have NO, NONE, NADA back pain.

    My good friend who did the treatments was in construction and he has two brothers who were chiropractors, so he became a acupuncturist.

    He moved from So Cal to the Austin Texas area about 12 years ago.

    His name is Bill Blakely if your in that area. Tell him I sent you and I say hello.

    Thats what my old teatcher Dr Jack Lozdan told me when I was studying Acupuncture and TCM at the University College London 1978 -1980.
    On top of that we worked three month at The Zhong Zan Medical College and Hospital in Guanchou Guandong i PRC 1981.
    I have been into patient practice since 1977 and done around 90000 treatments of variuos conditions and it seems that the TCM principles helpes in various ways in alomst every case.
    It depends on the state of the disease and the therapists intention if it will be improvement by the treatment.
    Usually the patient are relaible and autentic about their case history by the fact that they usually pay by their own pockets and often quite high treatment fees and that oncreases the expectations effect
    Compare to if they see an "ordinary" medical doctor some storys may be told in different way.
    But to make a long story short our intentions as acupuncturists is to bring "up to 0 or down to 0 and the symtoms will diseappear by itself.

  20. I believe in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, but unfortunately have never obtained any significant improvements, despite others recommending these practitioners. I have found other modalities that have been more effective for me.

Yes,but Randy you forgot the spirit.If we have the real thoughts about everything sourrounding us,we will keep healthy,and we are not creating any poison.That is very important.No matter how much massage or acupuncture or fruits you eat,if you have a sick view about things,you will go back to sickness or stagnation again.So in the end,it is all about spirit!

And yes, I do see inconsistancy in my words, but that's because I couldn't understand myself whether my words and actions were like a promise or not...Anyway, what happened just happened, and we all have to move on. It's just so hard to feel guilty, to keep working on another project while my friends see me doing it every day.

              I founad a few old fears while analyzing this matter. Fears about what others say, aboyt dishonesty and more. And issues of self-acceptance, of course. thank you for your time and for sharing your view of this matter. I appreciate it!

    9. Energy is a moral virtue. Hmm. I don't know about that. I could see where you could draw that conclusion. I think love always requires work and work takes energy. But, I am not sure if having energy in and of itself is a moral virtue.

      Maybe what you do with that energy or even the how or the why you have more energy, but still I wouldn't say energy is a moral virtue. You can aquire energy in not so good ways and you can use energy in negative ways. So, I will stick with that.

      It is good to exercise though! And it does give you more energy!

      I would like to add one other tool to the box. Prayer. It never fails when I get hit with those unexpected events that impact life from time to time. I ask for peace and endurance in full expectation. Has never failed me yet and the feeling of well being is like nothing that could come from this earth.

    11. One other thing. You mentioned the cleansers. I use a product called innerlight. It is an amazing alkalizer and I put it in water. They also have it in pill form if you don't like drinking water that looks like pond scum. It totally wipes out candita and creates great energy by saving our body the work of alkalizing.     12. I love the comment about having to wake up to an alarm clock. I heard Mark Yarnell say once, "most people wake up alarmed and stay that way all day." So true. Regarding sleep, I find that when I am engaged with life in a positive, purposeful way, I need less sleep even though I am busier and "doing" more. The reason is the more resistance we have to life, people and circumstances, the more tired we are. When we're in the flow of life, there's very little resistance, hence, we need less sleep.

      I was afraid of acupuncture because of the needles, but after I tried it the first time, i was addicted! It was so relaxing and I actually fell asleep. Exactly opposite of the torturous experience I expected!

      My acupuncturist is excellent and she is in Maryland (suburbs just north of Washington, D.C.). Her name is Wei Zhao.

    14. I've had acupuncture once. It was AMAZING! I used it after I was in a 4 car accident. Nothing was working to help my back, one session and i was a new person! Highly recommend it!

    15. When it comes to attaining & maintaining health & vitality, I use & recommend 5 aspects: Good food & water, healthy attitudes, exercise, sleep, and high quality nutritional supplements.
      I use the same supplements that so many Olympic & professional athletes use, because I trust they are both potent & pure. If those high-energy folk can trust them, they are good enough for me. Poor quality nutritionals are about as useful as poor quality food, water, sleep...etc.

      If a person's health is seriously impaired, or there is an injury, that's when treatments & remedies are needed, IN ADDITION to the 5 "attain & maintain" steps (not in place of them).

      It is crucial to take good care of our bodies. Where would we be without them?

    16. Wow. Amazing that you're writing about this at this point. I was submerged in this when I was in China & learned lots about the movement of energy (the Chinese calls it Chi/ Qi) in & through our body.

      Actually, our body is a sort of transmitter - and if any of our meridian points/ chakra chi points are blocked, it causes a whole host of sickness. Anyone who is in touch with the wisdom & philosophy of this would always want to minimize, if not completely eliminate Western medication - because they are drugs and do not treat the root cause of the problem, which is some sort of imbalance in our bodies. Worst, it covers up the real problem & throws our body system into disharmony. (PS: I'm not a physician, don't take my advice - this is just my POV.)

      The study of Yin & Yang is just a study of balance within our own bodies (micro-universe) and in relation to its relationship with the external environment. So energy is the real life source of everything, and when there is a block in the flow - in our minds (the engine), our bodies, with each other, and with our environment, it manifests as disease to help us identify the root problem.

      Which as you accurately pointed out, can be treated effectively and safely with acupuncture, meridian point massages, reflexology & Chinese herbs. Exercise is necessary to release negative energy & toxins as well as keep the circulation of everything in our bodies moving. The cycle of life & death is evident and happening in our own bodies on a second-to-second basis, and our job is just to align ourselves with natural law. It's a fascinating course of study - one that the Chinese have been perfecting for 5000 years.

      Away from home right now, will post my favorite massage therapists when I get back. Thanks for this post - it is my belief that with proper understanding of our bodies and maintenance of it together with a prosperous mindset, we can live to 200 - as a scientist once told me that our bodies were designed to last for. I think possibly longer. 😉

    17. I totally agree with the right foods will give you more energy. If you're not used to eating fruits and vegetables this may take awhile to get accustomed to. I've been living this way for a number of decades and the results show. People constantly underestimate my true chronological age. I believe it's because of the way I treat my body by the foods I digest.

    18. I'm a huge fan of Acupuncture and Chiropractic treatment methods.

      I had mild lower back pain prior to an auto accident in 1984. Months after the accident it had become a daily moderate pain in the back.

      Since auto insurance was covering the cost, I had 3 treatments of Acupuncture and to this day I have NO, NONE, NADA back pain.

      My good friend who did the treatments was in construction and he has two brothers who were chiropractors, so he became a acupuncturist.

      He moved from So Cal to the Austin Texas area about 12 years ago.

      Thats what my old teatcher Dr Jack Lozdan told me when I was studying Acupuncture and TCM at the University College London 1978 -1980.
      On top of that we worked three month at The Zhong Zan Medical College and Hospital in Guanchou Guandong i PRC 1981.
      I have been into patient practice since 1977 and done around 90000 treatments of variuos conditions and it seems that the TCM principles helpes in various ways in alomst every case.
      It depends on the state of the disease and the therapists intention if it will be improvement by the treatment.
      Usually the patient are relaible and autentic about their case history by the fact that they usually pay by their own pockets and often quite high treatment fees and that oncreases the expectations effect
      Compare to if they see an "ordinary" medical doctor some storys may be told in different way.
      But to make a long story short our intentions as acupuncturists is to bring "up to 0 or down to 0 and the symtoms will diseappear by itself.

    20. I believe in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, but unfortunately have never obtained any significant improvements, despite others recommending these practitioners. I have found other modalities that have been more effective for me.

Yes,but Randy you forgot the spirit.If we have the real thoughts about everything sourrounding us,we will keep healthy,and we are not creating any poison.That is very important.No matter how much massage or acupuncture or fruits you eat,if you have a sick view about things,you will go back to sickness or stagnation again.So in the end,it is all about spirit!
