The Value of Money

Posted By: Randy GageMay 20, 2011

You’ve probably heard me say many times to never affirm, “It’s only money.” Because money like all things is energy, and can be repelled or attracted.  But you don’t want to go too far the other way, and worship money because, well, it’s only money.

Not to get too cute, I but also don’t want you approaching money with a scarcity mentality.  Just as there is no scarcity of air to breathe, hugs to give, or love to share.  True components of prosperity are infinite.

Now that may seem strange if you’re wishing you have more money in your bank account right now.  But remember money is really just a meme.  The government assigns it a unilateral worth, which actually fluctuates all the time.

The only real value of money is what you’re willing to receive or trade it for.  And you can always get more by creating value.  So if you think you need more money, all you really need is more ideas.

It may be helpful for you to re-watch the episode from Prosperity TV, Is Prosperity Infinite?  I’m putting it down below.

Let me know what you think.

  1. Randy,

Great post and video. It is so true.

I love what you said about how to get abundance in one category, doesn't mean we have to deplete it in another. Abundance is a never ending supply in each category of life we just have to choose to manifest it daily. Thanks buddy, great job here.

  2. Thank you tons for this video Randy!
I am struggling with (the absence of) money myself and so I really treasure the input from your angle. Very down to earth and yet always connected to the big picture. Prosperity is a mindset, and the way I get it now, prosperity is natural. Omnipresent. We just need to tap into it and go with the flow.
Awesome reminder 🙂 Can't wait for the next one!

    1. Thanks for your comments, Karen. They helped me receive an important insight about "struggling."

  3. Yet another great post Randy.. What I love is the essence of Prosperity of Life, rather than just equating it with money. Being rich is far more than just having millions. It's about the infinite amount of Joy, Love, Connection and Contribution we make to ourselves and others.

And I also love the point about bringing value. As Wattles says in SOGR, "Provide a higher use value than the cash value received". And then of course, there's the most important thing which is the Attitude of Gratitude.

Thanks again for the great reminder of what's possible and the Path to Prosperity.

  4. It's true Randy,You really do need to make a major adjustment to your mindset in order to believe that the Universe is abundant. We need to constantly remind ourselves on a daily basis that prosperity is infinite.

  5. Well done Randy! New blog style with the videos is awesome. Love it!

Here is a Funny thing about money -

It is called making money (not taking money) because the more we make the more there is. If we see lack in any area we just need to go there and make more money and teach others to make more. But the memes programme people to think that if I make more money then there is less to go around. Makes no sense whatsoever! That is like saying if I grow more vegetables then my neighbours will starve. Very weird!

Good to have a place where we can talk to people with logic and who have thought about what they believe. Even some of the wealthiest people I know say things like terribly wealthy, and obscene wealth. I guess it shows what is really going on in the subconscious.

      1. Making it is the fun part. I am not talking about earning currency that comes from someone else, I am talking about making the products, services, innovations and other forms of real money.

We get to shape the world through this creative act and then share it with others in exchange for currency - that is where the joy comes from 🙂

  6. Randy, I really appreciate your work and energy, that you give to all followers and partners.
Money is mean to help us do goodness and live like we want. In one peoples' hand money is evel, in another one - bless.
    I'm reaching second category.

  7. Randy,
I like the message on your Prosperity TV. I am currently listening to Joe Vitale on a set of his CDs, "The Missing Secret", and took your Prosperity IQ Test. Didn't do very well, but am hoping to improve my score in the near future!
Kudos to you and your work!

  8. Although I know you’re talking about creating value Randy and I know that this is not exactly what you're trying to say, but if people still can’t stretch their minds that far then I suggest they consider the following. When you borrow money from the bank, either via a loan or by signing a credit card transaction slip, you create money (currency) out of thin air. Banks are legally allowed to lend more money than they have on deposit through fractional reserve banking. They may take a $1,000 deposit and lend out $10,000. Sometimes mind-boggling concepts are true.

  9. Live Rich!!! That's it. Love your Prosperity TV .. thx for that Randy.

A lot of people say, that they travel or buy the things, when they have the money. But life comes in their way and the travel ideas is suddenly not the highest thing on their priority list.

How much do you really want to travel? How much do you really want to get this Porsche?

How much do I really want to see my parents this year for xmas? (half around the world trip) ... yes, I am not perfect and I've found always an excuse ... but this year, every day ... I am asking myself, how much do I want to spend this years' xmas in Germany? This gets me moving to do things that get me closer to this goal. Because only money will bring me there, not the talking.

  10. Thanks Randy,

I know you read the more your comments...Faith it to you make it!

I was trying to relate how people just don't want faith with this whole rapture thing...like they're so happy that they can then say see...faith isn't real, but at the same time we assign value to a piece a paper...one with Benjamin on the front and one with Lincoln...make people behave in totally different ways...but still they can't believe...

    Safe travels...

    Daniel

  11. The first few times I heard about this concept I just couldn't get it, but it's starting to sink in more and more. Thanks Randy! And also to W David C for your comments.

  12. I'm at a point now where I'm in grad school, times are tight and I'm working on building a solid foundation for my future. When I first moved out to Chicago and started school, I was in a scarcity mindset- it lead to debilitating anxiety. I had enough savings to get by but I was fretting that there wouldn't be "enough."

Months later, after reading blogs like yours, surrounding myself with online mentors, inspiration and good books- I still have the same amount of money, but I view life completely differently. The state I'm in now isn't about "lack," it's about preparation. I realize that the sacrifices I'm making now don't have to be painful, but they are helping me connect to what matters, evaluate my choices and prepare for abundance which I work to cultivate every day.

I believe now that you can be prosperous even while you're in the process of working towards your outward success. There is plenty of prosperity to go around even when you're broke and investing in your future... doing the hard work now doesn't have to completely suck (as many of my fellow college/grad students seem to whine about).

I'm thankful for your videos to keep me in the right mindset! 🙂

  13. The only component of prosperity you really need is love. Love is infinite. You can have lots of money and still not have love, or you can have not so much money but lots of love. Which would you rather be?

I believe some people work very hard and never truly get compensated what they are worth. That is truly an injustice. Don't dismiss this, it is fact.

Also, if we keep abusing the earth as we do, air may not be so infinite. Let's love the earth and each other so we can all be prosperous for perhaps infinity.
