The True Nature of Prosperity

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 31, 2010

We’ve been discussing the replies to my post on How Much is Enough? It’s been amazing some of the responses I’ve received.  Yesterday on Twitter someone was chastising me and said we have to stop fighting for wealth and there are many places without prosperity.  I have a few problems with that…

I do believe we have to fight for the things we believe in and we get good things when we are willing to do the work.  But I do believe true prosperity is the natural state we are meant to enjoy.  We don’t have to “fight” for it, unless we must unlearn some bad programming.  (Which most people do.)

I have had to fight addictions to enjoy prosperity.  You may have to fight the tendency to live in victimhood to enjoy prosperity.  In fact, we all have to fight against thousands of negative mind viruses every day to manifest prosperity.  But those things are obstacles we have created to live in lack.  While we like to think we are fighting against circumstance, in actuality we are fighting the effect and not the cause.  Lack is always the result of wrong thought in some direction.  True prosperity and abundance is your natural state.

To say that you are looking for prosperity is like a fish swimming around looking for water.  Prosperity surrounds us everywhere.  Even in Haiti, Africa and some of the most impoverished places on earth.  Because every challenge offers opportunity.  And the key to unlock prosperity from the ethers is the power of ideas.

Please share your thoughts below.  And next post we’ll pick up more on the role of money versus wealth and the role of greed.

  1. The fact that we tap in to an invisible source of supply which is limitless proves that there is only abundance. When dealing with the unlimited, how can there be lack?

    Poverty is a human miscreation.

  2. If anything, there is more abundance and prosperity today than there was yesterday. The tricky part is allowing your natural connection to that stream of good things.

You're right about fighting, Randy! Struggle happens when you encounter blocks and resistance in the form of limiting beliefs and mind viruses. No resistance, no problem.

Like the fish & water analogy:-)

    Live long and prosper,

  3. Randy,

I really appreciate your recent string of posts on prosperity. Together with Bob Proctor and Steve Siebold (who, BTW, has a new book called 'How Rich People Think' which is worth studying), I see you are a thought leader on the mind-money connection. Lack and limitation programming is endemic in our society and some of the comments to your recent posts (especially 'How Much is Too Much') show how much faulty programming needs to be unlearned and overwritten.

One commenter stated something to the effect that "money comes from other people" to support a line of reasoning to the effect that that money is finite in supply. This is classic faulty programming. The average person honestly and sincerely believes that there is a finite amount of money in the world and that they need to struggle and fight for their share before someone else gets it.

The fact is, however, that money flows from ideas, particularly ideas that generate solutions to people, and since ideas are limitless, so is money. Money doesn't come FROM other people, it flows THROUGH other people, and the source from which it originates is the infinite energy from which everything is created. This is a energy that you can tune into through right thinking.

    1. I think by conveying great things you know about prosperity - you first of all convincing and learning all that for yourself.
Teaching things to others that you want to learn is a great way to learn it for yourself.

  4. Hi Randy, you wrote: "Prosperity surrounds us everywhere. Even in Haiti, Africa and some of the most impoverished places on earth."

I agree with you completely. Prosperity is their "natural" state and if they were free to live, work and voluntarily transact as they saw fit (as opposed to being ruled by thugs who brutalize and steal from them) they would soon realize the prosperity that is their birthright. And, this isn't theory. It happens in every place where a socialistic society gains more freedom (one example: The Hong Kong Miracle.")

      1. I live in a somewhat socialist country and thought this socialism is OK. After learning of libertarianism I am starting to see the many faults of having too much government in our lives. Even though these Libertarians are vehemently biased against governments I still have to look at their arguments objectively and must think openly about the pros and cons of what they say. I can't accept thier ideas as absolute truth so I can still think for myself rationally. We have socialized medicine here. What has been happening and will continue to happen (and get worse) is that this socialized medicine will become more expensive and ineffecient - Governments do not have a profit and limited expense motivation like private companies. I must state that one of the main reasons we have such technological advances in medical equipment is simply because of the USA. In the USA there is competition and motivation for profit in the medical field and many European and Canadian companies are competing for business there.

  5. Hey Randy,

    Some of my thoughts....

The only lack of man is in his mind and his inability to receive what he was born to have.

The battle is in the mind not the circumstances.
The circumstances are just the fruits of what is in our mind.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,

  6. Richard Brooke has got a great idea or training on his web site, when asks, what could I do if I was on fire every day with enthusiasm and energy.. well anything.. great question to ask yourself...

  7. REALITY is your own subjective personal opinion, your own personal mind construct. Your meme if you will.

ACTUALITY, or "true reality", is objectively independent of opinions. That's where God-Mind lives, and that's obviously where prosperity lives as well.

To a large extent, this "charade" we are experiencing is basically a kindergarten game of trying to patent the access to God-Mind.

You already have the access. You already have all the information you need.

You just have to become aware of it.

As well as for example sex is really about something much bigger than what is promoted in the media, so is life itself on this planet, unless you buy in to the charade.

A control system can not exist without willing participants for victims. Yes, what they do is
"terrible", but the fact that people allow themselves to be victims is perhaps even more "terrible".

Stop letting people run your life by stop being a victim.

Stop talking about others and look at your own stuff.

It is easier to blame others than to step up the plate and own this world that we have ALL created.

Everything is a reflection of who and what you are, or it cannot exist in your world.

  8. I don't agree with this part, "Prosperity surrounds us everywhere. Even in Haiti, Africa and some of the most impoverished places on earth. "

You need to live in one of those countries for years to say this, not visiting but living.

Why stay in lake when we can enjoy surfing?

  9. Randy,
This is a hard subject that has me grappling with my thoughts about prosperity everyday. What do you think the number 1 reason is that people fail to do to be prosperous?
Thank you for all you do.

  10. Ok. First off I want to say that I am so excited I foind this blog. I haven't known what randy was up to since the propsperity mind series.
Also, I have been trying to get in on this conversation for 2 days now....but my only internet access Is thru my phone and it was acting up.
Anyhow....I have neen thinking one of the main Issues people don't realize they are dealing with goes deeper than just a subconcious animosity for the rich (although this Is bad enough). There was a statement on one of the earlier blog posts "value, which is arbitrary and subjective"......
Wow, these people need to read up on objectivism. Randy, you are an Influential person. With your ENORMOUS list of subscribers, I think you could truly help these misguided ones by simply referring them to the book Why Businessmen Need Philosophy.
First, if value Is arbitrary, It is insignificant, and should be Ignored by the rational mind. This would render all attempts at morals useless. Next, If value is totally subjective, then Hitler was moral and just in his actions because he believed he was doing good.
And I thought this stuff was elementary. Anyway, sorry to get off subject.
Source of prosperity.....where does It come from.
    Within.
I believe, no matter the circumstances, with a strong enough will to make a change, as long as you survive your attempt (referring to the unfortunate souls who parish trying to escape....say....North Korea) you can experience prosperity.
What did Jim Rohn say? All life on this planet for the last six million years has been opportunity mixed with difficulty. Sometimes there appears to be more opportunity than difficulty, and sometimes it appears to.he the other way around....but the mixture never changes.

  11. Randy, I'm not sure I completely agree with you when you say that we need to fight for the things that we believe in. To me, fighting is synonymous with resisting and without wanting to sound cliched, I do believe that what we resist, persists. To change old habits/thoughts we don't focus on the existing ones that don't serve us, we focus on the new ones that will eventually override the old ones. Maybe we're just debating semantics here but overriding old habits is not fighting to me, it's about focusing on what is wanted. Fighting old habits places our focus in the wrong place. We live in an inclusion based universe. If we shout 'no' at something, we invite it in. If we should 'yes' at something, we also invite it in.

    1. You are correct. I'm using the language most will understand to make the case that the things we resist are in actuality the things we have created by wrong thought.

      -RG

  12. Love your sentence. "To say your looking for prosperity is like a fish swimming around looking for water". It's true. Randy, keep up your work. You help give vision for each of us. God Bless.

  13. Prosperity is like water, every where, but not a drop to drink they say. Only the mind that can convert it to use gets blessed by it. So those who do not see it (water) are looking at the one to drink not on the one around them. Therefore, seeing is the problem.

  14. Prosperity is all around us. The average person is far more prosperous than ever and yet too close minded to realize it. If they would only open their minds and their hearts they would see this.

  15. I don't think anyone who has wealth or talks about wealth creation is fighting for wealth, no. Wealth also as you said is not fought for, it's actually ours to claim. It's how you program your mind and the actions you take towards wealth that will determine how much wealth you would get as an individual.

I think it's high time they gave you a sleeping space, Randy, cos you are doing nothing wrong. You are doing the so so right thing by trying to help. I wonder why most of the time those who are trying to help are the ones who are chastised and rebuked. Absurd, totally absurd.

  16. Randy - you are right that prosperity exists everywhere, including in Haiti and Africa.

You may have heard of The Hunger Project? The Hunger Project basically ends chronic hunger and poverty in such places, NOT by giving people food and money but by going in and essentially tapping into and working on the power of the human spirit and the ideas and the inner resources of people in those places.

In 5 years, those people turn around their own situations - going from hungry and poor to sustainable, at least. It's pretty amazing. What it shows is that it is NOT circumstances that create lack - it is when people do not have full access to their inner resources that there is lack. Belief systems create lack as a reality.

All resources (apart from water perhaps) are created. What I mean by this is that even if things exist naturally, they only become resources when humans choose to make them one. People decided that oil would be a resource, for example. Before oil started to be used in the way we use it now, it was a nuisance to many. So even though we even use the term 'natural resource', it is a misnomer, because it is only through the power of our mind that we decided it should become a resource.

The other thing is that we have to get away from believing that what we see is what there is, or that what we believe about reality (subjectively) is what (objective) reality is. Someone's bank account or the resources available to them at the time has NO bearing whatsoever on what's available in the entire universe, yet people act like what they can see is all there is. This is one of the error thoughts that comes with seeing ourselves as limited human beings rather than as part of the universe and connected to the infinite source.

We are rich, rich, rich and rich. This is a universe of infinity. The potential for ideas is infinite, therefore the potential for creation of anything - wealth included - is infinite.
