The Prosperity Power of Ideas

Posted By: Randy GageMarch 11, 2010

So in yesterday’s post we discussed how you manifest more money and prosperity.  I told you that the only thing between you and more money is your next idea that creates value for others.   Because no one ever has a money problem.  You only have an idea problem.

Many of you wrote asking more about ideas and how you get them.  They just involve some creative thinking.  Here’s an example:

I was conducting a prosperity class at my church when a guy said that he was destined to be broke.  He explained that he was a nurse, worked in a government owned hospital and was at the top of the civil service pay scale, so no matter what he did, he couldn’t even get a raise.  He felt his prosperity was blocked.

I looked at his same situation and wondered what was stopping him from starting a home health care service.  And not just any home health care, but the very best one.  A service that would totally pamper and take care of people who were dying or facing serious health challenges.

Think about that…

If Bill Gates or any other wealthy person were sick, wouldn’t they want and be willing to pay for the finest home health care available?  I know I would.

Ideas are what allow us to manifest prosperity from the ethers into the physical realm.  Now if you’re sitting in front of the TV five hours a night watching cheesy sitcoms and stupid reality shows, don’t expect to have a lot of creative energy.  But there are lots of ways to expose yourself to creative thinkers and develop better critical thinking skills:

Hang around successful and interesting people.  Hint: There are more at Barnes & Noble on a Friday night than in the bars.  Do crosswords, Sudoku and other brainteasers.  Read biographies and especially autobiographies of successful people.

And a very simple way to come up with ideas is simply look at problems and challenges that people face.  If you can make their problem go away, they will gladly trade you money for that.

Think about recent billion-dollar success stories.  Hotmail, a way to offer free email to college kids.  Google: a way to find things on the Internet. Facebook: a way for friends to connect online.   And it doesn’t have to be sexy Internet stuff.

Richard Branson simply made flying fun again. Wayne Huizenga became a billionaire taking away people’s trash.  Then he made another billion giving them a place to rent movies.

You may start by walking people’s dogs, watching their homes or tutoring their kids.  But if you continue that line of reasoning and extend it out, prosperity awaits you.  All from the power of ideas.

I’m heading off to Riga, Latvia where I have some seminars this weekend.  I’ll post tomorrow’s blog when I land.  And since we’re on this topic, I’ll give you some Mental Aerobics to work some rust off your brain!  In the meantime, please check in with your ideas about ideas…

  1. That's why they say "Ideas rule the world"..I got a notebook yesterday where I have been writing down powerful ideas as they come to me. Then, I will look over them carefully, over a period of time, choose one, and run with it.
    Great post!

  2. I really have to print this out : "And a very simple way to come up with ideas is simply look at problems and challenges that people face. If you can make their problem go away, they will gladly trade you money for that." - Great reminder !

  3. Randy there are literally thousands of opportunities around the globe for one to prosper. I have files of ideas that I simply can not get too. My dad will be 80 this July and he is the same way. We are blessed with so many ideas and thankfully we have converted a few into profitable businesses. People just need to set some time aside and focus on what they enjoy doing and more than likely something will pop into their minds that they can do to escape lack and to become prosperous.

  4. -RG,

People are afraid of "saturated" markets. They say that "it's to late I missed it".

I tell them no it's not. If the market is saturated that means there are lots of customers. Provide a better service or product and or add more value.

  5. This post goes toward your last post again about lack thinking. If you think you don't have value you can give then no "value-able" ideas will come to you.
It starts with and ends with our thinking.

    Thanks again RG.

  6. Randy,
Great post. I am guessing that is where they got the title "Think and Grow Rich". If we say we are defeated than we are. It is what we think that dictates where we go and how we succeed.

    Have a great trip.

  7. Randy,
I am already an idea guy, always coming up with great ones. My problem is an ACTION guy, putting them into ACTION! Procrastinate, overthinking and fear always holds me back.

I need to know how to go from idea to action - fast.

    Tom

  8. Hi Randy

I asked the question how do we get more ideas a few times, thanks for taking the time to answer!!

    Best wishes
    Ari

  9. I'm the same way. I feel like a popped balloon sometimes - I have this burst of a great idea then nothing left but ragged rubber on the floor for follow through. Or, if I do start something, the minute someone compliments me or acknowledges the effort, I stop. Why is positive affirmation and encouragement my cue to stop? I've been trying for decades to figure out how to change that.

Great post, Randy. Have a safe trip.

  10. Nikki and Tom, procrastination and stopping are definite signs of self-sabotage and worthiness issues as we discussed in the previous posts. So look at the programming and core beliefs you have.

  11. Randy,

This information was great. It is interesting how we as humans block our own energy. We have so much negative information from the past that we must be tuned into all the new possibilities. We are so blessed but it passes by sometimes because we are on the pitty potty. I thank you for this because it has jogged my mind to use one of my strongest strengths, Ideation, I need to get to work now so until the next time I bid you peace and prosperity.

  12. After reading your post I could not help but think of the movie Nightshift, where Michael Keaton playyed Bill.

Bill was an idea guy and everytime he came up with a new one he would tape record his thoughts.

A good idea would be to write down your ideas without prejudice to keep a record to follow up.

    Just an idea 🙂

  13. Hey!We are not exactly living in a ideafriendly world! That silence you can get when you come up with new ideas is terrible and the often said comment:But how are you going to afford it?Is it a rat race or a Rat race? You HAVE to talk to the right people about your good ideas all the times or you are DEAD,and where are all that people hiding???How do we change it from the start to become an IDEA-friendly world?Where the children get most appreciation when they come with good, fruitful ideas...Where their entusiasm is the best they can give out?
But it´s never to late.Even for somebody "old" like me who spent her whole life hearing How can you afford it? everytime I said something out of the normal. We need people like you who have gone all the way from jail to superprosperity to make people listen,to give us hope to keep having good ideas..Most of us don´t do a shit until we really really REALLY have too of some bloody reason! And before we even do anything by ourselfs we can only listen to people who scream it out loud until the ears HAVE to listen. Right?Otherwise,oh yes, people sometimes like to do things and have some ideas without almost dying first, but then we are back in that category who do things for everybody but themselfes because they somehow learned that the bible said so...and in the bottom of their hearts,it is a "must" hiding.Their mom said its the best thing to do or the bible or the church they belong to or grandpa or anybody, just not themselfes.Well one thing is for sure:You have a great opportunity here to share your ideas in a fruitful blog!Looking forward to the one tomorrow...

  14. I can only speak for myself and it's my feeling that having an idea based on your purpose is far more empowering as long as you don't put any limits on it. And if you simply remind yourself just by looking around you that there are NO limits on anything, you can bring your ideas to the highest and best good possible. Just have them based on your purpose..

Or Porpoise, whichever you prefer 🙂

  15. A fantastic post, Randy! I love it.
    >>>But there are lots of ways to expose yourself to creative thinkers and develop better critical thinking skills:.<<>>....But if you continue that line of reasoning and extend it out, prosperity awaits you. All from the power of ideas.
    mmmm...
    >>>Hang around successful and interesting people.<<<<
mmm...I know I can't hang around you being there in Florida, I being in California, and you being so popular and expensive, so I guess I should just continue on listening to your audio over and over and over all day and everyday wherever I go - in the car, at Barnes and Noble, while sleeping, while taking my dog out for a walk.... Then, I will get a click someday, getting such a fantastic creative idea suddenly. No, but seriously, you really do have the spiritual and creative power that I began to sense something by reading your post... intangible yet.. but something that could well be turned into a (some) tangible manifestation of prosperity in the physical realm later...possibly soon.
I don't know about You people, but I really do enjoy reading your post, Randy. PS Have a safe enjoyable trip. -Saachi

  16. Convert your idea into confidence by researching the market & getting true knowledge to find out if there is a market demand for your idea. No one ever became successful in business by winging it.

    Knowledge is confidence & power!

  17. Then we are back again in thinking you are worthy enough to be an idea-creator.One thing I think about is:to be able to listen - listen to the place wherever the ideas come from.To be a person who takes part of the ether so that you have enough connection to the thoughts that want to come to your life(or:to this world!)You might be the right person to create prosperity out of them...I don´t think its always "by accident" you have a certain idea, but that idea might be suitable for your personal ames-you can be the right one to make something out of it, even if thousands of people had it.So don´t be doubtful about your own worth in new ideas who wants to be reality in our world! And thanks again Randy for all you give!

  18. I think feeling prosperity and feeling the way that goes us there is the most important thing, of course I undrestand prosperity, I feel it in my life, but I am trying to fix it and keep it forever to see effects of that and transmit to others.but I think it needs time to change life,it needs time to make a different life,it needs time to act the new ideas.
Thank you Randy, you are the best.

  19. What a pity... can't be in 2 places at the same time. Have to go to JCI Baltic Conference in Tartu this weekend and can not go to your seminars in Riga... Would love to listen some other time...

  20. I just want to let you know how much WE LOVE YOU and rely on you for inspiration and support, when it comes to Prosperity, Hope and an open mind. In fact, I consider you one of my closest friends and mentors: since it is important to connect with the very best people in the world, I am grateful to you for letting us do just that.. YOU ARE SOOO IMPORTANT IN THIS WORLD, RIGHT NOW. Seriously, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, RANDY!
