The Next Generation of You

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 8, 2010

“The man who acquires the ability to take full possession of his own mind may take possession of everything else to which he is justly entitled.”

The man who said that wasn’t suggesting a theory.  He proved it.  In fact, he acquired riches at a level like not one in 500 million does. If you measured his wealth when he was alive and adjusted it for inflation today, he would probably make Bill Gates and Warren Buffet look like a couple of panhandlers. That man was Andrew Carnegie.

In his day, the science around DNA and cell biology was just starting to develop.  But he wouldn’t have needed a microscope to tell you that your cells are influenced by your environment.  He was a living testament to this.

And he certainly wasn’t alone…

Ford, Firestone, Chrysler, Stone, Edison, and Napoleon Hill were all demonstrating the power of the mind half a century ago.  Charles Fillmore and Ernest Holmes were proving it a century ago.  Spiritual leaders were demonstrating this thousands of years ago.

Still science was preaching the dogma that that genes control life.  And millions of people were buying into the mind virus, because doing so allowed them to absolve themselves of personal responsibility for what was happening in their lives.

So if you want to revel in victimhood, you love the idea of your cells pre determining what happens in your life.  And that becomes a self-perpetuating reality.

But when you buy into the power of thought, and realize those thoughts actually attract and create your environment, and that environment helps create you – that’s when things get really interesting!

So what are you doing to create the environment around you?  And thus, the next generation of you?

    1. Absolutely, by guiding our mind we focus our energy on what is important. We need to use our mind to support what we do and where we are going in life. Most people use their mind to undermine their success. They get stuck on why something can't be done and keep proving themselves that they are right, and they never get of that track.
      Great post and great comments.

  1. It just seems so strange that humans were programmed into believing that genes control life. There have been so many people who have been born into a circumstance and then moved to completely different circumstances.

It is understandable when it comes to our physical appearance but beyond that it has no logic whatsoever.

I was raised in poverty and when I grew up I started regularly going to view the most luxurious homes around and go test drive all the new supercars that come onto the market. This has been amazing, at the start it just pushed up all my lack and limiting beliefs. So much anger and fear came out, which I then identified as the voice of my grandparents who have a hate the rich mindset which they kindly passed on to me.

When the thoughts and beliefs came up I was able to re-programme them. This was hard and took lots of time. Now I get to travel the world, stay in the most luxurious homes and drive all the supercars that I used to dream about.

It is amazing how quickly things can change. One thing that is strange and annoying though, is that I jump to a new level of income and almost always the next few weeks take a serious drop. Then it climbs to a new higher average for several months (which is nice). After that the process goes again, my income takes a jump up and again followed by a big dip down and then back up to a higher average again.

If anyone has any ideas how to stop the dip I would be very grateful if they would share them? A nice smooth upward progression would be much better 🙂

    1. My first comment/question is, How often do you repeat this to yourself? It is strange how are thoughts follow us around and validate our reality.

The seeds of our thoughts is the programming to our outcome. How we harvest our thoughts determines our reality. Be Careful Creator 😉

  2. Gosh, there is something really compelling in the idea that the "next generation" is not someone else, but could be me! What an exciting idea! Thank you.

  3. I quit my job! Yaay! The environment was killing me, so I left and I couldn't be happier. I guess you could call it creating a vacuum for bigger and better opportunities to come into my life.

  4. RG,
Somebody said that if you dropped Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller in the 21st century, within 1 year they would be billionaires again.

I believe it, because they new how to find the right people to succeed.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    What am I doing? -

Reaching deep into the guts of my imagination, picturing myself doing the one damn thing that EXCITES the crap out of me… and SCARES the crap out of me at the very same time ... and finally being brave enough to put it into real-time action with all my heart!

    That’s what I’m doing.

Because fear and excitement are often times just flip-sides of the same coin!

What are the rest of you guys doing?

    1. "You cannot teach what you do not know; you cannot lead where you will not go."

yeah ... I'm just full of it today. 🙂

  6. Wow, terrific post today Randy, coincidentally I am reading "Think and Grow Rich". I know now I'm on the right path.

    Thank you so much Randy!

  7. Randy, the next generation of me has started with a rebirth phenomenon. A complete mind healing of the outdated dogmas of institutions, parents and others who have indoctrinated me to their way of thinking. Some of it good, some not so good and some intentionally, and some out of ignorance.

In reading "The Science of Mind" a book I hold dearly as is "A Course in Miracles" both have provided answers for unshackling me from such indoctrinations. I am grateful for the DISCOVERY to be my own master in the process of creative thinking and OWN it.

For now, I allow the Intelligence/ God/ Energy to work through me because I am certain that this power within me is not meant for me to be poor, sickly, unhappy, fearful and anything else that clutters my mind with waste.

In this last year, I declared 'GETTING IT' about finances. Where it all starts is with my thinking. I learned several things thus far about my money relationship: I was not taught about money (so I picked up as many books about money), and I felt betrayed brainwashed by the institutions I attended as a child. For example, "Money is the Root of all Evil , another message was "MONEY Does Not Grow on Trees" and lastly the conditioning of society. A saying about rich people are greedy and can't be kind or trusted at the same time. WRONG, wrong, wrong!!!

During my journey about MONEY what I've learn is that I finally can erase all those lies. I am choosing to live in victory.

  8. Well I am not sure that all of what A.Carnegie said is good for the prosperity mindset.

Some of his quotes as follows.

"The man who dies rich dies disgraced"

"The amassing of wealth is one of the worst species of idolatry. No idol is more debasing than the worship of money....To continue much longer overwhelmed by business cares and with most of my thoughts wholly upon the way to make more money in the shortest time, must degrade me beyond hope of permanent recovery."

"There is no class so pitiably wretched as that which possesses money and nothing else. Money can only be the useful drudge of things immeasurably higher than itself…"

"The best legacy for the young man is born into poverty"

    1. Zhannur,

Read as individual statements and taken out of context, I can see where the ones you've presented might be misinterpreted, but ...

I’ve never heard any prosperity-minded individual (especially Mr. Carnegie) suggest that the pursuit of money for money's sake alone is a healthy ambition. Instead, the message I read in his words is this:

Seek to experience those things which can be done BY you and THROUGH you as a result of money, and …
Aspire to be rich so that you may both Bless and Be Blessed, not so that you have the highest balance at the bank when you die. 😉

In other words … CIRCULATE your wealth. Hoarding will never produce happiness!

  9. so true and straight forward yet most of us ve lived in d very opposite direction; today's the 1st day of the rest of my life!

  10. First I choose not to be a victim of any circumstances and take personal responsibility for everything around me.

    I am creating my reality.

I don´t know what others do but I know if something is coming into my life that I don´t want to see or I am angry about it, I always remember that this is a mirror for something that is in my mind.

So I have always the power to change it.

  11. I do agree on what you are saying.

The funny thing is that you are also influenced by radiation, electric waves and so on. Radiation from your cellphone or the sun or from whatever source it comes. We must be aware of those influences too, because they are a real part of your external environment. If these external particles hit your cells, wich (i think) you can't influence. It all comes to the state you are in at that moment.

What you do next, when it influences your cells, is up to you. And that is where your mindset (power of thought) comes in, and realize those thoughts actually create your inner environment.
If you are feeling bad, you probably are more perceptive to outer influences and they will have an greater effect on your cells. If you on the other hand have a healthy and happy mindset, your cells won't allow this to influence your internal environment.
And this is very interesting, because if we watch our daily pattern, we are fluctuating with our thoughts every minute of the day.
The question that comes to mind is: "How do we keep our power of thought in a peak condition every minute of the day?'
This is a matter of training your mindset on a daily basis, and becoming aware of your feelings and giving them meaning. And learn from your experiences so you can grow and broaden your focus and awareness to ultimately create the life you really want.

"If you want to be a great basketball player you train every day, if you want to be who you really want to be, train every day!" Fred Keser

  12. Thank you, Randy!
I think you one of the best examples in the world of mastering your mind to achieve prosperity and greatness.
I am a work in progress, and I am inspired by you to persist and be consistent.
    Cheers!
    Monica

  13. Hey Randy, could my environment be mostly in my mind and my beautiful home office, since even by connecting with you, I am changing my mindset.
But the people I come into contact wirh on a daily basis are mostly in victim and reaction mode, so I end up running away from many people and even corporate environments, although I still work for them..
I think it is a transition, while I attract the right people to my world.. What do you think? Thank you!

  14. What's interesting is that science is recently proving that even the way our genes work can be molded by environment - both positively and negatively.

The science of epigenetics has shown that we can turn genes on and off via diet, exercise, location (to avoid problems like Fred Keser mentions above), and other factors. This is what causes diseases like cancer and the like - bad environmental factors turns on the wrong genes. So our genes don't necessarily have to control our lives if we just live positively both in mind AND in body.

In much the same way, the energy we create for ourselves in our minds can turn on or turn off prosperity and positive growth simply via the environment we create for ourselves. I'm convinced that science will show this at some point as well. That will be a great moment as people who can't just accept these facts based on their own experiences will have science backing it up - helping create left-brain buy-in, as J.B. Glossinger calls it.

  15. Hi Randy,

Love the question today, for me I found that it was essential to look at myself first and resolve any conflict or issue before I could extend myself to others.

You can not give, what you don't have! Once that is in place the sky is the limit. 🙂

    Olga

  16. "So what are you doing to create the environment around you? And thus, the next generation of you?"

I am changing myself in every area possible. This includes a detox of relationships, habits, etc. I want to create / project the environment in which I desire to dwell & empower others to do the same.

    Thanks RG!

  17. Wow!!!my friend Rosa and I we are reading Think and grow rich and also, the best salesman in the world by Og Mandino, thats empower myself to the next level of my live.Thank you Randy Gage we already read all yours books and was a pleassure meet you las month.Live rich!!!!!!

  18. Interesting that you decided to post this today. And I say this since I received a video that is part of Stuart Lichtman's Cybernetic Transposition course where he demonstrates the technique he calls Dialoguing. This is where we learn to develop a direct communication with our Unconscious, which as you know, is where all the highest and best knowledge exists.

Since all of us understand that it's our thoughts that are energy and that the Universe itself is energy, too, it's important we have the ability to unleash the power of our unconscious mind through the subconscious into our conscious mind, wouldn't you agree? And if we think thoughts that are our vision and dream, having the ability to KNOW from our Higher Self the EXACT steps to take to achieve them is amazing!

This process is nothing like any I've seen and I'll be interested to see how effective it is! Stuart's students claim 100% effectiveness. So yes, thoughts are how we change our life..

What you think about, you bring about.

    Thanks Randy!

  19. Oh my goodness were those all white men? I really don't know. Is there a woman we could look too? I always like Bessie Coleman. A poor African American woman, who was the first American woman to receive an international pilots license(she got it in France by the way, no man in America would train her). She learned how to fly. You go girl!

  20. A quote from James Allen seems appropriate for this blog. "People are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; therefore remain bound. Another great one from Allen, " All achievements, whether in the business, intellectual, or spiritual world, are the RESULT of defintely directed thought.
Guard your mind and thoughts like a steal trap right now. Turn the D..... tv off, do your manifestation boards, visualize it while attaching emotion to it. Send all that high energy out to the universe, not just for ourselves but for everyone.

  21. Hi Randy,

This post reminds of my high school chemistry teacher, who dismissed the healing powers of acupuncture. She thought it was just a "placebo effect".

Well, the thing is the "placebo effect" by its definition, works through the principle of faith.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Wayne

  22. Awesome post Randy. The Law of Association, the writings Hill and Allen (As a Man Thinketh), and the philosophies of Carnegie are so vital. Should be required study for ourselves and our children! Think of what a different world it would be ...
