It’s going to be a great week, because as soon as I hit Key Largo, Radio Margaritaville was playing Jimmy Buffet’s cover of Brown Eyed Girl. I packed some sausage and cheese and at Conch Key, had some lunch with my feet in the water.
Now I’m down in Key West, working on some book projects. Bathing in fresh air, drowning in sunshine, and devouring creative energy. And wondering about the future of the future…
Mad Genius and Risky Is the New Safe were catalysts in my own personal development. Not because of the research I needed to do for them, or even the knowledge I gained from that research. But because of the critical thinking and introspection that forced me to do about myself and my own future.
After the next spin around the sun I will be sixty years old. And still wondering more than ever, what I really want to be when I grow up. And that might be the most intoxicating thing of all.
What about you? How much do you really think about your future? And what excites you the most about the possibilities?
There are two people who challenge me to think about myself more than anyone else. You are naturally one of them and Mike Dooley is the other.
Often it is those closest to me, both personal and business, who tell me to do less thinking and more "doing". Both of you remind me that the thinking is what creates the doing and that without either of those critical paths, the joy does not happen.
Thanks for all you do.
The most inciting thing about my future is,how do I actualize my dreams to help people become what they want to be in life.
Happy birthday Randy - thank you for doing what you do!
Sorry, I guess I should have worded that better. I meant after this year. My actual birthday is in April!
definitely getting the second chance of putting out the creative work I always dream about
