Put Down the Cross, We Need the Wood…

Posted By: Randy GageJuly 30, 2018

And I'm here, to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair, to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

If you want to sing along to a song from one of the greatest albums in rock ‘n’ roll albums ever recorded, this is your song.  Alanis channels some of the most gut-ripping emotion most of us have felt at one time or another after a breakup.  So scream your lungs out.

Just don’t actually live that way.

Let it go.

  1. Funny - I love the title of this post. There's a couple people I need to tell this to. The lyrics you posted from the Alanis Morrissette song 'You Oughta Know' is apropos with what you're trying to convey. The lyrics I like better from this song are "Is she perverted like me? Would she go down on you in the theater?". You wouldn't happen to have Morissette's phone number?

  2. The beat goes on until you let it go.

What does it take to really let it go?

I think stories create inequality, hate and violence. Stories are creating the cross.

What do you need to let go off to let go of your cross?
