As most of you know, I play a lot of softball. I’m an infielder, fielding balls hit on the ground. One of the things we infielders hate is the “bad hop.” That when the ball hits a pebble or bump and jumps up at an unexpected angle. It’s a good way to get bruised, a black eye, or even lose some teeth.
So when it happens, teammates will often console you after the ball gets past you. “A bad hop, nothing you can do.” Which is true. But I got to wondering…
When you chase down a ball and it pops perfectly into your glove, how come nobody talks about a good hop? It’s worth some thought, isn’t it?

Or what about riding the perfect wave? Or hitting the '3' from way beyond the ark? And then there's the fact that you've volunteered your time and passion to a non profit organization and made a difference!
Life is filled with 'wins' and they should be acknowledged too!
Thanks Randy.
No hop is like the good news you don't see in the newspaper!
Randy,
Some people talk about good hops.
My coach (Monique Gallagher of Highest Potential Training) taught me to mention to my subconscious (she teaches how to open a reliable communication portal) that I'd like more occurrences "just like this one."
Some bad hops are due to invisible forces within us, she also teaches how to make those visible and get them to work on our behalf instead.
Highest Potential Training is, oddly enough, at HighestPotentialTraining.com
Ralph, I agree; you hit the ball on the "sweet spot" with that one and drove it over the fence.
“The person who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the person who dropped the ball.”

Hey wait a sec- don't WE create the bad hops ourselves?
That's where I thought you were going with this...
If it takes a "bad" hop, that means you actually CHOSE for the hitter to get on first, right? Something about your self esteem as a baseball player.
Either that, or the hitter CHOSE for the ball to take a "good" hop (around you) so they could get on first.
I think when the ball pops right into the glove it's because I am a fantastic athlete, and the Yankees missed their chance to draft me!
The world is a much better place than what some people want you to think, so they can control you.
And for as long as people project shit it will continue to hit the fan.
Our nature seems to gravitate toward the negative, doesn't it? We jump on the chance to pass on bad news, gossip, etc. but seem to forget to mention good deeds or inspiration.
We miss great opportunities for good.
For God's sake guys ...let's not get all analytical on Randy's low self esteem and poor infielding... (Ha ha have a great day!)
Randy is true, we focus more on things that cause pain in that cause us sastisfacción ...
hi randy, anytime i read through ur blogs,i really feel that something has changed in my life.
