The Artist in You

Posted By: Randy GageApril 12, 2011

The dreamers create the world.  All you see as visible was once invisible, to all except a dreamer.

Cherish your visions, nourish your creativity, and sow your ideals.  Find the magic in your imagination.

I know you’re busy:  Bills to pay, housework to do, rush hour, your job, I get all that.  But find time to dream!  Dream bold, daring and imaginative dreams, because that is who you will become.

Find time to be a philosopher, photographer, writer, sculptor, musician, dancer, or poet.  Feed the creative energy in you and watch a new world open up for you.

You up for that?

  1. I've got to add to that.... when you build and focus on your dreams and vision, then how much easier does the mundane and routine stuff all become?!
Thanks for the continued inspiration Randy!

  2. Randy,
thanks for the reminder. that will be another "Poster" on dream board. (my board has twinkle lights around it)
Is it too much to be ALL the things you mentioned??? 🙂 Just checking LOL

  3. As a musician, I think everyone can be creative in some way, they just have to find it.

I think creative people can succeed; they just need to resonate with others.

  4. Some get so caught up in what they need to do or have to do they forget about what they want to do, and these things sprout in the mind of dreamers. You must visualize with eyes closed for sustained periods each day to get past your circumstances; otherwise you're picturing - or dreaming - circumstances all day long. And you'll continue to attract similar situations. Just because your eyes are open doesn't mean you're not dreaming. Thanks Randy!

  5. I've not been talented at creating art, or singing. I consider my creative side to be more drawn to creating memories. I love to create the hallmark, so to speak, enviornment at Christmas time. I like to think creativity is a moment and a memory. I guess I have more Martha Stewart in me than I realized.

  6. Hi Randy,
To dream is to create a new world. It starts in the beggining just like a little light but as you feed that on a regular basis it starts to grow. You will get all the plans and ideas that you need in order to bring that dream into reality. The key is to start dreaming. Thanks for your suggestion.I will take time to find all the sides that are in us:poest, artist etc.

    All the best,
    Radu

  7. We are all dreaming this world up together. I have a vision that includes everyone's good. But for it to have substance I need to dream it up for myself first. And this is my blueprint I currently use which I will update if necessary.

Sometimes I wonder if the substance of our emotions that lead to our creations; whether we turn them into life actions, music, visions, dances, what ever we turn them into..sometimes I don't feel like they are substances that this person I am living in created, but rather perceived.

As if "joy" is an endless state that flies around looking for who it can inhabit. And the same is true for "anger". And all the states of mind we can experience are just archetypes which we can inhabit. And in these archetypes there are lower forms of expressing them and higher forms.

And with our lives all we are doing is acting like instruments to refine all these free flowing muses. To take stories of the past to find a greater meaning in them and when we do we forever change the imprint on these muses so that the next of us that breaths them in have more options to create better stories.

How does this relate to creativity, prosperity and seeing good verses seeing bad?

The difference between only seeing the good in our lives and being in denial of the bad means we are not transforming the bad. When we see the "bad" we are not meant to dwell on it but transform it. So we need to be able to see our mind virus's before we can affirm them differently. But only as much as we can while staying uplifted.

As we do this within our own lives, these muses that fly around are also transformed and so when this creative energy comes across someone else they have higher options to choose from. So in transforming our own life we are helping others. But only take on as you can while staying uplifted.

I think what I will change is directing my creativity into fun while adopting a more simple life philosophy that has the same principals my heart loves but is more user friendly.

      1. Your welcome, and ty for provoking thoughts as well as taking the time to respond. I am still in awe of your ability to keep up with it all!

  8. Randy I love how you're using the dreamer in you. Excellent post!
Yes, just yesterday I was out for a jog in the woods at dusk. It awoke so many positive feelings in me to see the clouds moving, the colours set the trees and fields alight and to see the deer scampering by.
It's so easy to say we don't have time, when we know the truth that with imagination and organisation we can make the time!
    Thank you,
    Roisin.

  9. "The Artist in You" I like the title. I am an artist and a dreamer and an idealist.

Art is a reflection of the truth. It shows our souls, for better or worse what is real. As a performing artist, I know for sure that the closer to the truth and the more an artist bears their soul, the better their work is, as it resonates with other souls.

Dreaming and creativity should bring us closer not only to ourselves, but to the rest of the selves out there. It is a way to create oneness. It provides the doer and hopefully the seeker with empathy and enlightenment for themselves and others.

We all know in our souls what rings true and what doesn't. Devine art should be the bar of sunlight in a winter's fog of confusion and despair.

Never take art lightly, it is one of humankinds most holy tools.

    1. You know I feel sad about this post.
The idealist in me, has been routinely crushed on this blog. Now you give it away as advice, when for me, your opinions at times have killed my dreams and ideals.

My out of control anger and disrespect sprang from that hurt. I am not justifying it, just saying where it came from.

      1. Annie, please reevaluate if the belief that my opinions (or that of anyone else on this blog) can kill your dreams or ideals, really serves you. I don't think it does. And that will always be a choice you make.

This is a community that celebrates idealism -- and also protects against the co-dependency, entitlement, and dysfunction it can sometimes cause when not applied with critical thinking.

This forum is not to demean or discredit anyone, but to subject ideas to analysis. With healthy skepticism, never cynicism.

I hope you see it as the opportunity it is to bounce ideas off other people who are on the path of prosperity and personal growth, and use that iron to sharpen iron.

        1. Randy,

I agree with you. No one likes a winner but other winners. No one likes a dreamer but other dreamers. The world is filled with people who are defined by limits and the winners and dreamers are those who don't define limit. If Annie feels crushed, angered, or had her dreams killed by anyones beliefs or opinions, she has allowed others to limit her. There is a little known quote amongst the many known ones of John F. Kennedy that states "As we express our gratitude, let us not forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." If you're an artist, a dreamer, a winner, then don't just say it, be it. Don't allow anyone to limit your true potential.

  10. Randy thank you
I feel so suppressed sometimes. I used to be in a gang and mlm really helped change my life. But poetry is the way to express

  11. We are all creating our world all of the time, the question is are we consciously or unconsciously creating it.

Schedule time each day to actively imagine and dream your ideal life then set it into action.

  12. I was think to to do the following. Once a week get in my bedroom alone. Cmplete silence. Just for the time that I need. Then clouse my eyes and start dreaming about my future. I want to see myself in the future. I read that in a book of Positive Mental Attitud. I will do this, once a week. Then I will see the results. Thanks Sensei. Gabriel

  13. Que bueno leer sobre los sueños cuando hay tanta inspiración...La práctica nos lleva a poder sostener nuestros sueños...Gracias por las bellas palabras.

  14. Thank you RANDY.GOD has been using you and other to change my.I'm inspire to be an author...God bless you.
