The Answer

Posted By: Randy GageMay 1, 2012

So I get some really good questions during interviews, on the blog, at seminars and social media.  Here are some of them:

How do you write a book?

What is the first step to success?

How did you become a millionaire?

How can I become successful?

How can I get self-confidence?

Here's the funny thing about all these questions:   They all have the same answer!

The single most important thing to accomplishing any of these things is to…

Decide!

So what do you need to decide today?

  1. A want, A wish, A desire, are all different from a decision! Once you decide it happens. PERIOD! No qualifying, No gaining worth, No "am I good enough" bla bla...the opposite is true too! You can work your ass off, do your best but if you havent yet decided, it aint gonna happen!

  3. Randy,
Great topic...and answer.  I would just add - take action.  Just do something, anything and get started.  Remember you don't need to get it perfect, just get it going.

  5. For me a 'decision' also means- 1) no going back, 2) putting all energies into that single bucket 3) positive expectation and lastly but most importantly 5) feeling good about it. If you don;t feel hugely epic after iy have made a decision- you gotta reconsider.

    1. @Randy_Gage Likewise! Heading to SG for a course on 20th, u know which trainer im learnibg from? :p

  7. That´s true!
First decide, then check the next step.
If I reflect now - I always asked people or say "experts" how to get "here" and "there" in life. My past shows that an answer was up to pure sympathy.... so I didn´t end up on all my stages. Why?
    Value for value.
Often, I had nothing for exchange....not what I would have liked to exhcange - deep sympathy factor.

It´s not always as easy as "here" on your website, Randy!!! 🙂
    But, rarely - sometimes.

      1.  @MrsHealthandProsperity Hi! Thanks for your question Mrs. H&P - and to catch up w/ it: I decided to build 3 income stages (2 more) to get back all the money I had to spend to build them up (crazy) for making more in the end and the trigger, my magnet, is the crazy thought of running one day something like an institue with people who like to change the world and old worn out (thought)-rules (mostly incl. the health care issue to make life livable for those who struggle with things they can´t change by today) until then, I want to live a much more nicer life than today and I want to find those people who would like to work on my "tasks" and ideas. Up to there - there will be much more decisions to make by me and I hope I bring more value than I did in my past  :))
        Enjoy the weekend!!!!!!

  9. Thanks for answering those questions (which I've been known to ask, lol).  "Decide"  OK.   In my experience, when I've decided to do something, the "journey of 10,000 steps" often include a WHOLE LOT of what we might call personal development.....clearing out whatever false, heavy ideas/beliefs/perceptions are stopping my decision from actually manifesting.
Most recently, I decided to  downsize our home, selling our house  & buying a new home. I did the appropriate outer work ("the plan") and have been awaiting the buyer for 3 1/2 months.  Waiting, and doing the inner work.  The process has gone like this:   I hope...no! I Trust....no!  I am CONFIDENT that I'll soon be moving to our new home.
The decision & the plan....that's the easy part.  The inner work.....that's the fun part.
Once we are moved, I have decided to complete, and publish, my novel.  That's what I've DECIDED today.    Yesterday, I was just hoping I'd complete the novel.  Today it is a Decision.  Thanks for the lil' push, Randy.

  12. Absolutely! It seems a lot more difficult than it actually is, but it's as simple as making a decision. I found that hard at first to come to grips with, but I soon learned that it's the simplest thing to do. Once the decision is made -- action begins to make it a done deal. 🙂 Great answer, Randy!

  14. To me, this is the distinction between wanting and choosing in some ways. If we make a decision, we are consciously 'choosing' it, correct? Of course, the flip side is wanting, so the more we say we 'want this, that or the other thing', the more wanting we get!

I CHOOSE to be successful, prosperous and loved..

    BOOM!

  19. Randy, so often I think of the subject of your latest blog before I even read it. I was thinking today that the things I do successfully in my life are the result of a decision and commitment to do them. Once that decision is made, the rest is relatively easy.

  21. Yes! That is how people evolve! Unlike the animals, we don't need time to do it.
We decide to change our lives, our behavior, our way of thinking or doing things.
And we just do it! It is always a matter of decision.
