Thank God It’s Monday?

Posted By: Randy GageMay 19, 2009

Okay I realize today is actually Tuesday.  But there’s a reason for that title.  Guess what the latest research about the workplace shows?

More than 90% of people spend a huge chunk of their day frustrated by the energy vampires, whiners, and dysfunctional people they work with, and think regularly about quitting their job.  When you read “Dilbert,” you just know that almost everything you see there actually happens in a lot of places.

Managers waste 37% or more of their day dealing with dysfunctional behavior.   It’s a bad situation in the corporate world right now.  But it doesn’t have to be…

My friend Roxanne Emmerich specializes in transforming workplaces from messed up to just plain rocking.  She’s one of the sharpest people I know.  Even in this so-called downturn, she has her clients raising revenues and profits.

And today her new book, "Thank God It’s Monday: How to Create a Workplace You and Your Customers Love" is being released.   If you’re trapped in a cubicle, dealing with office politics, or surrounded by people you’d rather not be working with, you’ll love the book!

Even though the book is just hitting the book stores this week, it has already hit number #1 on Amazon as a business book and held that for the entire week and hit #13 on the Wall Street Journal best seller list.  It’s a "must read" for anybody who has a job or anyone in charge of anything.

If you buy the book today you’ll receive lots of cool gifts from colleagues of Roxanne’s who are helping promote the book by entering your receipt number.  You can get it here.

Get it.  I know you’ll love it, because Roxanne is really good.  And let me know what you think.

  1. Thanks Randy. I just bought my copy on Amazon and the additional gifts are worth way more than the $13.59 I just paid for the book. The title intrigues me. It has been one of my mantras for years which usually irritates my coworkers who have the T.G.I.F. mentality so they usually run the other way when they see me coming on Monday mornings. B.T.W. one of them still hasn't found their car from going out Friday night.

  2. Monday?, what is Monday, another idea with rutine and responsabilities, the show must go on.....Monday will take in loops of tim and space, past and future, think Monday and you will be trap in a box....my star cosmic day is NOW, what now....?Peace. Javier.

  3. I thought you were trying to purposely confuse us with the title of your article. I have been one of those poor frustrated cubicle people and also the frustrated manager that had to deal with other frustrated cubicle people. I am glad to be out of that environment. I have a friend that was just complaining to me last Friday about her current situation (she is the manager) and I think I will pass on this info to her, she would probably enjoy the book.

  4. Hi Randy,

There's no doubt that the typical workplace is full of energy sapping situations. This book looks very interesting, although I'd much rather work on my own and create my own workplace. 🙂

  5. I'VE ALWAYS HAD THE IDEA THAT MONDAY IS THE GREATEST DAY OF THE WEEK...GIVES YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO START OFF FRESH...MONDAYS MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE...THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO DO AND SO LITTLE TIME...I LOVE MONDAYS AND I'M PRETTY SURE THAT I'LL LOVE THIS BOOK AS WELL...
