Take Your Dreams Back!

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 1, 2015

Last post we explored the process of how your environment can tear down your self-esteem, trigger worthiness issues, and cause you to narrow down the window you view the world through. But once you become aware of this negative and destructive process, you can stop it – and begin reversing the trend, building up your self-esteem and expanding your window of prosperity consciousness.

This is when you fight to take your dreams back...

To maintain your confidence and persevere through the challenges this will entail, there are five insights you need to know. Because once you do, you’ll know what you need to do and why it’s so important for you. You guys who follow my daily prosperity Periscope broadcasts will remember this topic from a week back.  Let's break it down a little deeper.  Here are the five insights you should think about:

1) Your Life is Created by the Thoughts You Give Precedence to All Day.

This is the core teaching of James Allen in As a Man Thinketh. You actually construct – or destruct – your life, thought by thought.   When you simply let thoughts “happen,” you fall victim to the thousands of negative memes and limiting beliefs circulating through the datasphere at any given time.

When you become the thinker of the thought – meaning being mindful and choosing what you think about – you are able to build a positive life and move daily toward your dreams.

2) To Change Anything Outside, You Must First Change the Inside.

If you want to change the way people treat you, change you. If you want to change the economy, change you. If you want to change the weather, change you. If you want to change the world, change you. That is the inside work that creates the real breakthroughs.

3) Mindsets are not created in a day. They’re forged in 30-day cycles.

After 30 days of doing anything, it has become a habit for you. And mindsets are also the result of habitual thinking. So don’t take a positive thinking course on Monday and expect to be a multi-millionaire or Olympic gold medalist on Tuesday. Know that when you put together 30 days of a positive mindset it changes your results greatly. And then you build on that mindset, going even higher in the next cycle. And the next and the next…

4) You create a better life by creating a better self-image.

Your self-image is created by the mental pictures you play in your mind all day. How you actually visualize yourself succeeding or not. Which is why insight number one is so important.

5) If you really believe you can achieve something – and you act on that belief – you will achieve it.

The key word in that last one is really. You have to really believe you can do something. You can sing “I believe I can fly,” but you don’t really believe that and thus the law of gravity still applies. And it may be inspiring to suggest you can move a mountain with a mustard seed, but we both know that ain’t happening.

But when you set a goal you really can attain and go to work, it will happen for you. Just make sure you’re doing your daily self-development, keeping your mindset positive and know that your subconscious mind will guide you to taking the steps to making it a reality.

If you understand and act upon these insights, you really can live your dreams. And that is what I wish for you.

  1. I resonate strongly with this, and would like to build on it a step. I always say, rewrite your story, rewrite your life. If you can go back through your past and find the evidence of a different story (just like you've been believing the one of your limitation) you can project that new story forward. Make it easy to believe in the miracle of your future by digging up all the evidence that reveals the miracles of your past. Deeps bows of gratitude for the way you shape the conversation, Randy.

  2. I would add another point that's associated with critical thinking; "How you view your world is how it will show up". The same holds true for our view of people in our lives and how we view THEM. When opening James Allen's book this morning I was guided to the page where he says "we do not attract that which we want, but that which we are". which is good food for thought. And finally a great statement from Alan Cohen, "It's not who you think you are that holds you back, but who you think you're not".. As always I'm deeply grateful for the abundance of wisdom you share with all of us.

  3. Perfect timing for this powerful message! I'm manifesting some pretty awesome things that all have their origin in my beautiful mind. As within, so without!

  4. "If you want to change the weather, change you."
How do you mean? Change where I be, so the weather (for me) is changed? Change how I see or feel about the weather, so I change it from "bad" to "good" because I changed my mind about it?

  5. There is no bad weather, only bad clothers. This is one point.
In India the people really like and enjoy when it starts to rain after a hot period.
I am sure you can imagine now what Randy means.

  6. RainerProksch No bad weather?  I will have to tell all of those that are caught in an F-4 tornado.

  10. What is your plan to take your life back? I am moving to Washington DC in January because it is the best place for women in technology. I also begin my Doctorate in January and will be looking for software development work in DC. I will also need to start a new fitness plan in DC. keep doing personal & professional development. Body, Mind & Spirit.

To take your dreams & life back, change what you are reading & listening to. Don't let someone else write your story that takes your life and dreams, that makes you poor, sick, dumb, sinner, suffering, violence, etc. These are not healthy stories that others have written for you. Write a new story. One that works. This story could be based on a successful story that works.

  11. Life, liberty & happiness.

We have the new story in the US. We just have to change other conflicting sourced that tell a different opposing story. The separation of church and government.
