Spiritual Understanding

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 13, 2011

Spiritual understanding isn’t an intellectual process, but a mystical one.  Continuing our discussion on being prosperity, I believe real spiritual understanding is a revelation.

For you guys that follow the Bible, Jesus gave an example of this when he asked the apostles a question and all but Peter answered with their intellect.  Peter however, answered intuitively, causing Jesus to say, “Blessed are you, Simon, Son of Jonah!  For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.”    (Matthew 16:17)

Now if you are a meta physician as I am, you interpret this to mean that intellectual things can be proven by empirical evidence, but spiritual things must be spiritually discerned.   On an intellectual level you may see that Infinite Intelligence is the giver of all good.  But when you explore it at the metaphysical level, you recognize that not only is Infinite Intelligence the giver of all good, but the giver is the gift.  And you and Infinite Intelligence are one and the same.

This revelation of your true nature is when you experience true spiritual understanding.

  1. Such a deep statement. I love it.
I am an integral piece,an extention of Infinite Intelligence, yet as my children are an extention of myself that has to grow and develope to the same level of maturity, grace, wisdom as myself; so do I have to grow into and become like my Father who created me.
    Interesting stuff.

  2. immediately afterwards when Jesus told them about the sufferings He has to go through, Peter rebukes him saying "Lord this shall never happen to you.." and Jesus calls Peter satan.. just a moment ago Jesus himself had said that Holy Spirit was in Peter.. explains how human mind (Peter) can change and the Divine (Christ) is focused on His purpose.

  3. As soon as you try to identify, intellectualise or label spirituality you have lost it. It is something that you allow to blossom and grow without trying to control it in any way. Those who say they are spiritually realised are the ones who still have a lot of work to do on themselves.

  4. Spirituaj Understanding is the most important because Good understanding giveth favour....understanding makes outstanding Thand Randy G

  5. Hi Randy, I just saw your site after seeing a tweet by you. I failed to fully comprehend your piece but I want to read more of your writings during the coming week. Spiritual understanding is vital but oh,how few there are who are willing to devote any time to it!
I invite you to view and comment on a US site I support and find very interesting.

  6. Spiritual understanding has been my greatest experience! let me see if I can explain.

When I was 14 I entered a darkness that was so dark that dark was comforting because anything else was filled with mind wars. I fought them constantly for about a year or so until my mind burned out. Wouldn't work. It was a tangled mess of frayed electrical cobwebs. But in this no thought place there was something else.

Something that was always there no matter where I went. A calm. I went to it and it became bigger. And as I stayed with it it began to teach show me understanding, not in words but in it's presence. It said I had choices and no matter which choice I made it was always here for me. Which choice did I want? I would be given help with whatever choices I made. And it gave me helpers to sort out impossible questions I had. But I would need to do certain things in order to increase my ability to "hear" the guidance. The guidance I would receive would not be directly from it as any thought outside of it's presence was a form of creation but that there were many forms of creative thought available for healing, guidance and anything I could possibly need and their desire to help filled them with joy.

That I could come home whenever I wanted...but that my experience away was my gift to others and my life itself was given to me to be a gift to bring back. To know that this experience in this loving presence I was having was ultimate truth, eternal reality and that everything else was a step away from truth to see it from an outside perspective for the purpose of creation itself. But even my interpretation of the experience was a form of creation..that this was my understanding of it. And that was why everyone's understanding will be different. But that that is ok. That we would learn how to all be different and when we tuned into this one place it would be like an orchestra all different but playing together as one.

It itself just was. But to remember that it was greater than everything else because it was the ultimate reality that would never end.

From this I was shown how the experience of evil came into existence and and how it would eventually be replaced with love and what my part in that was. That their are no evil people only souls that get caught up in error and whatever they create that is harmful is never greater than what they are experiencing. And how important it is to the greater whole to bring light into the darkest places and how to do that without destroying yourself in the process. How punishment is a misunderstood reaction to evil and how to grow, heal and help each other using protection and good boundaries rather than violence but not to hate violence because hating creates it..SOOO much...but that any special message I came to teach wouldn't be effective until I applied it in my own life. And then through my own life the message would be passed on.

And in every choice I make I always think of this place before making it. And how FRUSTRATING AS HELL it is to hear well meaning people who I see as caught in their own mind boxes of hell try to talk me away from my choices. Frustrating because I can't communicate to them in a way they would understand. (side note: My higher understanding comes in the form of patterns, concepts and geometric shapes and I have to translate them all into language and sometimes I get the translations wrong. Other forms are just in my body as sensations and in my mind as visions. But none are in words..or VERY VERY few). But I am learning and growing. I've experienced soooo much! But really can't share it yet and that makes me sad.

The hardest assignment I have been given was when my guidance said I needed to learn from human teachers and more peer experiences ...to find answers within relationship. That any answer could be given to me instantly but more was to be learned within relationship. This has been the hardest because my ego wants to yell out to everyone what I know...but my heart connection reminds me that living on purpose is more important than shouting. And even with all this experience I have gained, my words are still so inadequate to describe. So most of the time I just keep my mouth shut. But I test the waters here and there as I am doing now.

  7. Hi Randy,

I instinctively knew that the attraction to this blog and your articles where of a higher nature, I have been able to see through your physical appearance and see the true nature of who you are.

I'm often blown away when I view one of your videos because the energy that comes forth from the eyes show me your higher self and I feel humbled by that presence.

I am grateful to have connected in such a way and I often say this but it worth mentioning over, and over gratitude is the highest form of praise to the source of all

When we truly connect in such a way it is such a humbling experience that there leaves no room for doubt.

With Gratitude for your earthly mission.

    1. Olga,

      Thanks for posting this. 🙂

I share both your perspective and your gratitude for the bright being and gift that Randy is.

You said it very well, indeed.

      K

    2. Dear Olga, Dear Kimbralee,

      I'll join you 🙂

I met Randy in person a few months ago. When I came up to him it was after the last session of a three day event with 5,000 people. Anyone would be excused to be tired. But instead I felt such enormous peace and calm around him... He was just there, present to me, with his full attention. I am not admiring the fact that he was present to ME, but that he was completely present to another human being. It was as if I was the first person he saw that day, as if there was no trace of the other 4,999 people clamoring for his attention for three days and the event to run...
And there was also that powerful light from his eyes, pouring like headlights. I had to look away. And the energy, it felt as if 10,000 volt going through me.
Needless to say, I was short of words and mumbled something incoherent and tried to go as fast as I could (yeah, I know, I know).
But the gratitude that Olga mentions resonates strongly with me, although I do not yet possess the poetic eloquence of Kimbralee to express it.

That was a spiritual experience. I have met quite some top spiritual teachers that are available. I don't think any one of them has such an impact. And my measure is the extent that I can feel my Heart and be connected to Love.

The funny part is that the circumstances are the least in which I would have expected to find something like this. 🙂 I must say I am still quite puzzled and am reconciling...

      1. Larissa,

I am equally impressed, but soooo not surprised at your experience! 😉

And all I can say is ... one day soon!

        K♥

P.S. - As for that light in the eyes - I will remember to wear shades! Lol!

  8. Great stuff as always. (And I'm always amazed at how Randy can write four paragraphs to say what it would take me 20 paragraphs! LOL)

I don't want to drag this off-topic but something Randy said about how Peter answered intuitively caused my mind to go in that direction.

That's what the Kingdom of Heaven is about. A lot of people who read the Bible take the position that the Kingdom of Heaven is about the afterlife.

But, the Bible teaches that the the Kingdom of Heaven is within us (Lk 17:20-21) and that it's reached through understanding (Mark 12:34) .

And I think that's why Jesus was so excited over Peter's response that Randy mentioned above. Because he was seeing that Peter was "getting it".

    Love it. Thanks Randy!

  9. Spiritual discernment - I used to think I know everything, then I realized I didn't know much, and now I KNOW I don't know anything. LOL!

The level of my personal joy has increased a thousand-fold now that I am content to just be a conduit for energy/ infinite intelligence to focus and flow towards creating whatever I want.

The unfolding is magical & I am grateful to be alive, continuously learning, opening up to more amazing possibilities and discovering ever deeper & deeper levels of what namaste means.

The most exhilarating revelation I had is that there is ALWAYS MORE to discover! Blessed are we to have been given this gift called life and I want to live forever, there is so much to explore b/c heaven is a place on earth! I love you. Namaste everyone! xoxo

  10. Olga, Tony and KimbraLee, thanks for the wonderful words. I'm honored.

Donal thanks for stopping by. I was tempted to say your appreciation of me may be short-lived, but why should I affirm that? So i guess we'll see how that develops.

  11. Interesting things are being revealed to my these days. I tried to understand everything intellectually, but got confused more. I do not deny the importance of intellect and our conscious mind, but I remember that many things that I achieved before came with the help of trust into something bigger, without any evidence and proof. I just thought that since I believed in some things, it was logical that they are true:))) And then everything that I believed into took place, all my wishes came true, and I could back it up with "real" logic:)))

This is happening now. I can't explain WHAT I understood from this post, I just feel it. I get all the answers I needed these days. And, I'm sure, the of course, I will see the logic and will be able to describe what's happening now a bit later. I just accept it this way, since it works for me.

  12. Spirituality is a belief in the unseen. I loved Randy's quote from the bible about Peter. The way we discover our devineness, is through faith. "We walk by faith, not by sight". The day I realized that there is, inside of us who believe, a gps system that will take us to the correct place we are meant to be every time if we surrender and live our lives with honesty and good will. Whenever we deviate from our true essence, we are made to experience the lesson in order to develop ourselves. There's no getting around it. It's the law of cause and affect. There is no greater confidence builder than waking to each day knowing that you are loved and guided by our holy spirit who is not capable of harming us. "I will never leave you, or forsake you". If you have unwavering faith, fear seizes to exist and it's a lot faster than any subliminal reprograming. It will take you where you are intended to go, not where you have been and we can all thank God for that if we simply believe.

  13. Too deep to stay out of it. As a gulf, which attracts and at the same time scared. If you jump, there is no way to return. You decide.

  14. My spiritual journey has taken me to some great places within and shown me things that I didn't even realize I wanted or even needed to know! I am apart of a womens group and we have been working with the Myth of Psyche and Aphrodite, which in short, is about becoming more aware about the masculine and feminine parts of our selves and all about collapse and surrender. How collapse is really about falling apart, or hitting rock bottom, and the surrender, which is giving into what is. I have collapsed many times and with the learning of this myth, I have learned a few things: Surrendering usually doesn't come until there has been a period or periods of collapse, and over time, the collapsing becomes less and less and the surrendering comes faster and much easier. What was so great about this for me was how connected I felt with it on such a deep, innate, level. The joy and the pleasure I felt adding more peices to the puzzle of the discovery of myself let me know I had taken another step on my journey. I am constantly affirming "Divine Intelligence is working in every area of my life in perfect ways." Then I go and I am able to do this tremendous inner work and bring forth the GIVER and the GIFT!

  15. After the previous post I was trying to really figure out the difference between being and doing. Because the "being" bit seemed to be thinking, which I felt was really doing, as thinking is something you do. But then what is being? But this post has really helped clarify that (as well as raise more questions and uncertainty) and I'll work on increasing my understanding intuitively, rather than just using my intellect.

    1. but ill add u never understand if this 'understanding' just exists in ur head.this is not understanding. u have to become an embodiment of it. You must live it. You must be the living knowledge than you will have understanding. this is true understanding. all else is meaningless. when you walk the path, the path reveals itself, by your walking it is revealed and not by a mystical process.

      1. this understanding is there, ready for all to receive. it doesnt play favourites. when you are ready, when you have prepared yourself, through walking the path, then you will receive it. not the other way around. it is all giving, it will not seek you out slowly and signularly and give u the understanding. u must tune in with action, experience and staying in the game. dont worry about this talk of 'only through grace and not good works'

  16. My dear Randy, I think the problem that arises when one tries to change things, again and again, but nothing happens, and it seems that you are the only "crazy" to create new opportunities. It's like people in my city, and are resigned to live their lives depending on government handouts or a company. I refuse to that, I think I deserve something better, how hard is when the results are not what one would expect. I am a spiritual person, I am a pastor in a Christian community. But I often feel I'm alone and no one believes in what can be achieved. Perhaps lacking faith, but as believing in something that still do not know? Listen to many people who went through situations like this and achieved their goals after a while. You're one of them. I read your comment hacerca cmabio genes and you can give to the future. But how to know if I'm on the right path, doing things right. My mentors, who have achieved success, they are very far from my city, I can not get their energy and contagious optimism. Most people in my team have resigned or directly trbajao not cooperate. Perhaps someday this will change and I may be prepared to make that opotunidad! What often causes concern and anxiety is when you see others in other parts of the world with the same company have much success.
Am I doing so wrong? I need much personal preparation? Will I am not fit for this business even though I like the philosophy of work and help people? Just I do not know ......

    1. Gabesuarez, i think RG's advice is good.
you know, my committment with my business is with my life, my entire life. nothing short. i have been with my company 6 years, 10 months, 15 days. i know it will become 60 years, 10 months, 15 days. i havent a shadow of a doubt because ive made this decision. u have to make that decision. if u dont u will always be second guessing urself and ur people will as well. and u will be subcosnciously be looking for problems etc instead of solutions
re: changing things -----> teach mindset 80%; not strategy, thats only 20%. strategy should be layed on top of the good mindsets
re: lack of faith. Always speak vision. always paint the big picture, the compelling vision.
also if there arent any leaders where you are, then your it. you need to become the leader, no matter what. no mucking around, no soft talk. there will never be a great team without a great leader. u must spend all ur time on this and lead by example. thats the true leadership, leadership by example. if u failed, admit to ur team, they will know any1, better to be honest. the most downlines i had in one meeting room at an event was 17, but when i started it was just me. yesterday i had 3 and last week 6. but these are small meetings thats why.
u must committ ur efforts and if u cant ask y not

  17. Everytime we get an intuitive word from our heavenly father,we feel it.Some people do it often. We create it, even though it seams to be easily done,it cost a whole world to come into that kingdom at first.More and more people has to prepare themselfes for it.What they get will be so much bigger then that they loose..

  18. Hi Randy,

    The giver is the gift.....excellent!

We search for things on an intellectual level but tapping into our divine nature is where it's all that. Literally.

This makes me think of the Apostle Paul's order to not waste the gift of God in you.

Thanks for sharing RG and have a powerful week!

    RB

  19. Well, I am not ready to wash your feet with my hair, although I think their are definitly some on this blog that would. I won't ruin the love fest either. I really love this post, even though Sister Ruth said pretty much the same thing in our philosophy and theology courses twenty years ago. She never was able to gather groupies quite the way you do. And she had eyes that gave off lots of energy too. I remember she had blue eyes, and they sparkled and danced when she talked, like they were smiling at you.

I suppose it is the lovely way you say things that attracts so many(yeah right):)
No, it really is the truth, your wording is on this topic is perfect.

I would only say that what applies to spirituality also applies in the emotional/mental realm of our life too. Just as God is best understood through mystical experience, intellectual understanding of our thought process will not neccesarily make it connect to our heart and emotions. EMOTIONS!

So, I paid you a compliment on this comment, my little gift to you on this holiday.

    1. Annie -

I just wanted to say that I love you, too.

... and I would gladly wash your feet with my hair.

      Really, really.

      K♥

      1. Oh my goodness Kimbralee, I am laughing so hard. I love you too. Come on over lady, I got lots of hair, I will wash yours too! 🙂

        Annie

  20. Hey Randy! I really appreciated your thoughts here, and you are really onto something! I'd even take it a step farther and say that forming spiritual beliefs inside your mind can strengthen the ego and make it even more difficult to have those metaphysical experiences. Many of the most open-minded people I know are spiritual but do not cling to many beliefs.

    Take care Randy!
