Running Toward Your Goal

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 14, 2011

So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step.

Wise words from the Apostle Paul.  Because there will always be distractions.  And all distractions are equal...

You’re too busy, don’t have enough money, weren’t born on the right side of the tracks, don’t have the right education, people tell you it can’t be done…

Remember that person who quit before they reached their goal because of all the challenges?

Neither do I.

  1. If Randy, the road is full of distractions. We must learn to jump over obstacles .. Thanks!
    Happy Holidays and New Year!

  2. Hi Randy in sunny Sydney,

Yes I am running the race and those who are not going where I am going, it is aufwiedersehn for now. Can't afford to waste time.. Thanks again.

  3. Like the idea. When I read this I thought of momentum. Running towards something keeps us going when it gets tough. Too often I see people slowly inch up on their goals. When a tough stretch comes along they don't have the momentum to keep going.

  4. Kurt Cobain. Remember him? Did he really reach Nirvana if he killed himself? But, we do remember him.

It really depends on your goal, not everyone who reaches their goal is famous. And not everyone who is famous has reached their goals.

I feel like your saying fame and wealth is the ultimate goal in life.

What about the quiet unassuming folks who reach their goal?

I don't like thinking I am waste because I am not rich and famous.

I know you are trying to be inspirational, but today it just makes me mad and frustrated. 🙁

    1. where did he say anything about being rich or famous? i don't like goals, i like journeys and adventures. That way the end result is not all that i'm working for! 🙂 If you don't like thinking that way, then don't! i have to constantly remind myself, still, that if i don't like what i am thinking then i need to do something else! dwelling on something that bothers me is like sitting in a garbage can when you could be out enjoying fresh air! I'm not trying to be rude, i trust you can handle my candor.

      1. Thanks for the reply. I am sorry you didn't understand my feelings.

I really never had a garbage can sensation today. Randy's post wasn't that bad! 🙂

    2. Sorry, you brought all that to the table yourself. I didn't say anything about being rich or famous. Although I was quoting Apostle Paul; he is kind of famous.

      1. I am sure the Apostle Paul never said anything about not remembering people who didn't meet their goals, because their challenges were too much for them. I mean really, I am not a big Bible scholar, but ya know?

OHHH! I will never accuse anyone here of being overly sensitive. I guess that's for us bleeding heart liberals....

I felt overwhelmed by my own emotions, and that was not your fault. However, perhaps there is a little flaw in some of that logic concerning rememberances.

    3. (Ughh...) Okay, Randy you did not say anything about rich or famous, I was reading into that last line. You and Nikki were right.

Anyway, I had a my own lttle breakthrough because of it. I was feeling overwhelmed about not reaching my own goals, but I am not anymore!

And, I take back what I said about the sensitivity thing. I wanted someone to be Bill Clinton and say "I feel your pain". But, I think what you said was better, and in your own way you were being sensitive. You and Nikki.

I still like my feelings reflected back to me. But, I'm good. 🙂

      1. Annie,
I understand. We do have to be accountable. After all, what we do with our life is how we define it.

        Randy,
        You rock!!

  5. Randy,
I have to put notes everywhere to keep my mind focused on what I want!! Fear of failure and staying focus are huge challenges I have to over come. Btw, have you seen Failure Club on Yahoo?

  6. Randy! You are truly helping me and inspiring me. Just from reading your blog and listening to a couple of your audio books, my thinking has started to change drastically. Good things are coming into my life every day and my business is taking off. Thank you so much. You are a true blessing 🙂 Happy Christmas!

PS. I love the fact that you quote scripture. It takes me back to my roots and is helping me to go back to my faith.

  7. Distractions are everywhere. Even if you have a goal in mind the odds that you won't encounter a distraction or obstacles along the way are very small.

    It's rarely an easy path.

But what's the quickest way to a point? A straight line.

You will encounter distractions, but the key is (allow me to use a football analogy) to lower your head and literally run over any distraction or obstacle that gets in your way.

Take that mindset and nothing can detour you!

  8. Keeping the momentum going and working to let go of the 'old identity', or distractions as you call them, is important, but so is being in alignment with purpose.

Since I AM working on creating a company that's connected to my purpose, I sometimes drift and fall prey to the distractions. But then I take my mind off of it, listen to some music, get outside and connect with Source again to get inspired.

I wished manifesting would happen overnight, but what's more important is to keep on track and always hold the thought, The Truth, in spite of all appearances (taken from the Science of Getting Rich).

    Thanks for the reminder Randy!

I Know That mean this is in good.
    Thank you ...

I agree with Per ... There is no end station only creating.

And Knowing That every single step that our goal lead.

I dropped a rock from the heart, because I understood that the rush was actually the fear: o) And now I know that I am calm and focused while I go and what I want to achieve. This way come to mind interesting possibilities. I know I'm there: o) This is such a great.

    Take care,
