Opportunity...

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 24, 2012

Funny how people think about and approach opportunity.  They see it as something that “happens” to them.  Or doesn’t.

When it doesn’t, they talk about bad luck, wrong place, wrong time, or destiny.  I actually believe for most people the “opportunity of a lifetime” comes around every couple of weeks or months. Most people simply don’t recognize those opportunities, because their programming prevents them from seeing them.

And here’s the other key thing…

Broke people look for opportunities.  Successful people create them!

  1. Here's another way to look at "opportunities." First ALL opportunities are "of a life time." All success can be traced back to a very small and at the time incidental fork in the road. ie If you had or hadn't stopped for a coffee this or that wouldn't have happened. If you're spending your time looking for the big lightening bolt from the Universe you might as well wait for the next lottery drawing.

Second, ALL opportunities or possibilities (the word I prefer) exist already. No one creates them. EVERYTHING that will ever be possible for you is already possible. We have all been given the capability to see and act on those possibilities it's just that so few bother. Most wait for a possibility to be spoon-fed to them.  Tragic but true.

We all live in a "possibility soup" surrounded by a constant stream of these 'opportunities' just like we're constantly surrounded by radio waves. Our subconscious is our 'tuner' and many more of us need pay attention. I'm not sure this is actually true, but I've got a feeling that the Universe reaches a point with some inattentive people where it says, "To heck with you!" Everything in nature takes full advantage of everything brought to it...except humans.

  3. Something epic is happening to me...last one year my personal prosperity graph has been constantly going up. Last August I was broke, jobless, super stressed and had no clue. The only thing different from last year to this year is ME-- coincidentally I subscribed to this blog about 11 months ago.

Tomorrow I am flying to Beijing on a fully paid 9 day trip doing business with Chinese on behalf of Americans. Isn't that epic RG??

    1.  @Hersh Bhardwaj that is wonderful! what do you think was the biggest shift in you? and what a gift that has to be for RG to hear...makng that kind of difference!

      1. Yes, it is a quantum shift...the greatest difference is the 'attitude of gratitude' that ever so slowly led me to be constantly aware of the the things I should be thankful and happy about., which was the opposite of what I was doing.( My daughter was in nursery as a premature born fr 4 months and I had no money no job) And RG hammered out the 'victim' mindset which comes from lack mindset.

Initially it was hard to focus on only the good and happy things, people, memories. But I kept at it. I stared to believe in the possibility. Out of 24 hours I started to find more smiling seconds, than minutes, and than entire hours. I became more 'accepting and 'resistance-free'. I lived moment after moment. Only to jump forward, or, backward to fetch or manifest a happy moment. Not to revisit lack or anticipate worry.
Today I work from home, my kids, including my pre-term daughter is beautiful and healthy, I manage an international unit of a company in India and most of all I fee a victor. Most of all I can say 'thanks' with trues feelings involved.!

  7. That's a great distinction Randy...And it goes hand in hand with stepping from our comfort zone. When we do this and leave the familiar we open up ourselves to possibility and that's really the goal. Life is about what's possible and as we've seen for centuries, anything is possible!!

  9. Great post RG! I've been quiet for a while in the comments department, due to the fact that I'm so busy because I now have so many amazing things cookin! 🙂 Like Hersh, it has been a fairly mind blowing transformation, with the reading of this blog, your books, and all of the other self development work I do and study being the prime reason it has all occurred! 🙂 Frankly, I'm still in shock about what my internal and external now looks like. (I'm waiting on a few really giant projects to be finalized, and when they do I will share

  10. I always tell people that prosperity consciousness/mind-set is the decoding device that allows you to see/be aware of all of the possibilities that surround us every day. Without this mind-set we bump into countless life changing opportinities/pissibilities

  14. So, how do you develop the kind of positive expectation that allows you to take
advantage of opportunities? How to create
the conditions that make opportunities arise consistently. That is the question to answer for every area of your life.

  16. Hi Randy,

    Super points here 😉

Opportunity screams at us...since we create opportunities in consciousness first...and there is no limit to consciousness...we can seize the opportunity of a lifetime whenever we so chose.

Bringing the opportunity to completion might take time - or it might not, since only Now exists - but the idea seed is within, and can be accessed whenever we choose to.

Each moment provides us with infinite lessons. Do you seize at least a few, during the normal course of a day?

Example: like an impatient, silly head, I stopped commenting on this blog for a bit, because you changed over to lifefyre...and I had trouble setting up an LF account for whatever reason...yeah I own the silliness RG 😉

But the other day I received an impulse to stop by your blog, set up an LF account, and start commenting again. I seized the opportunity, and feeling better about this step, I engaged you on twitter for the first time in a bit. I then, all of a sudden, established greater clarity in my marketing campaign....observing how you do things....thank you Jedi Master 🙂

Switched up my capture page, blog, marketing approach....because I felt the impulse after connecting with you, and received a few subtle nudges from other pros in the marketing arena,,..all because of one little opportunity I seized the other day, which helped change my vibe.

    Thanks!

  18. Thanks, Randy! That's the true!Very ofter broke people even don't look for opportunities, but the successful people create & look at the same time - with their open mind, ready to take action.

    14. So, how do you develop the kind of positive expectation that allows you to take
advantage of opportunities? How to create
the conditions that make opportunities arise consistently. That is the question to answer for every area of your life.
