Moving toward Fear

Posted By: Randy GageOctober 12, 2012

Maslow famously noted that we are constantly faced with situations that allow us the opportunity to go back toward safety or forward towards growth.   Growth involves overcoming fear.

Here’s the bad news…

You have to choose growth and overcome fear again and again.

Here’s the really good news…

You have to choose growth and overcome fear again and again.

Ain’t it great!  Cause that’s where the breakthroughs live.

  3. I woke up this morning having had a very vivid dream. In my dream a speaker came off stage and came to sit beside me. He had given an outstanding talk and seemed totally at ease during the delivery but as he sat down, I noticed that his heart was racing and that in fact he had been really really nervous. It made me realize just how far outside his comfort zone he had gone to give this great talk, yet he survived the experience and he and the audience were all the better for it.
Maybe it was because I had read yesterdays post just before I went to bed, anyway this morning I woke up and decided I that today I would launch something I have been procrastinating over for far too long.
I phoned the local bookshop which still hadn't received your new book - so I ordered it on Amazon as well. Can't wait to read it - I know the timing is perfect. Thank you again.

  5. Maslow and Carl Rogers are some of my all time favorite psychology theorists.  Maslow's teaching is about seeing the strength of where you are, and progressing from there.  He believed that every human being was equal in his or her humanity, at any given stage of spiritual or psychological growth.  I don't think he would have agreed with statements like mediocrity and being poor as a sin.  He is a Humanist.

Still, I like your lesson here on this post. 🙂
