Living with Gratitude

Posted By: Randy GageOctober 4, 2010

Sometimes we can begin to take things for granted.  And that is a real mistake.  I can stop hearing the waves crashing on shore when I sleep in my condo in Florida, but they haven’t stopped making that sound.  I have just stopped appreciating it.  And when I get centered in gratitude, I hear that sound again.

I went for a bike ride yesterday and heard the birds singing.  But how often am I busy and don’t notice?

When we get into a meditation of gratitude, we notice the many blessings that surround us.  And by noticing and appreciating them, we attract even more to us.  Doing this strengthens your prosperity consciousness, and prepares you for a life of ongoing fulfillment.

Why not spend a few minutes now, reflecting on the many blessings you have to be grateful for?

I know one of the things I am most grateful for.  And that is YOU, and the other members of this blog community.  It is so rewarding to be in a Mastermind community of people committed to growth and development.  Just know I am grateful for you.

Take a moment, and remember the people who bring goodness to your life.  Why not make it a point to call or email three of them today, and let them know you appreciate them?

  1. Thank you for this great message, Randy!

I am very grateful for YOU and your presence in my life. It's an amazing thing to have someone like you constantly spreading the message of prosperity.

I think that taking a moment and seeing all the blessings that have been given to us is the fastest way toward more amazing and beautiful manifestations. I guess there's no greater power than being grateful now!

    Have an amazing day, Randy!

  2. Hey Randy,

Thanks for this reminder. The busyness of life can sure get in the way sometimes. I am grateful for this community as well that has shown me so many great things and helped me very much. I am making my list and going to talk to at least 3 people every day.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,

  3. Thank you Randy, actually I daily wait for your comments and your videos; they are a great source of nourishment in my life.
Hope to personally meet you some day and again thank you very much,
    Best regards

  4. Such a great post! I'm amazed at all the beautiful things around me and take time everyday to find something I am grateful for. Without gratitude you will never find true prosperity. Just because you have a fat bank account doesn't mean you have real prosperity.

  5. Hi Randy,

I especially liked the ending to your post today where you say

"Take a moment, and remember the people who bring goodness to your life. Why not make it a point to call or email three of them today, and let them know you appreciate them?"

And I'll tell you why, if it's one thing that I have learned through this journey in life is that expressing gratitude, and emotions are essential not just for the person doing the act, but also for the receiver.

I had a conversation with my daughter last night and I mentioned that I will not be attending the wedding of one of her childhood friends she was so taken back by it that she went on to say to me

"Mom, you can't do that, you have impacted her life in such a positive way that you have to be there!"

Now, here is my point, how often do we go through life without letting someone else know how important they have been for us?

How many people take the time to let the significant people in their lives know how much they care and appreciate them?

I think this world would be a better place, don't you?

    In Gratitude

  6. What a nice post. You made me smile. 🙂

I actually do this very much.Once, I was in university and realized I have never noticed the plants and flowers in the yard, from the day on I enjoy watching them whenever I pass near them.

I notice around myself and try to find things to be grateful for, this is a really good thing and gives you pleasure. 2 days ago was my birthday and I am deeply grateful that there were people who congratulate me and wished me the best. That was really nice of them. They gave me tons of positive energy.

AND Randy, I have to say we are grateful for you too, since the time I know you I am so happy for that, I admire your way of thinking, you are GREAT.

Thanks a million for all you have thought us.Thanks for being prosperous. World need guys like you.

    Long Live Randy!

  7. You hit the mother load with this one. Being grateful is bar none the most impactful action in my life. It's where it all begins and ends. Without it, nothing has any real meaning. I am grateful to read that there are people who acknowledge this and no doubt get the joys that acompany it. Glad you are hearing the waves and the birds Randy and thank you for sharing such a beautiful subject.

  8. I work a late shift at work and I was on my last break on Friday walking around just as the sun was setting and it was so lovely I had to call my husband. And as soon as he answered he said " I was just about to call you-- you need to go outside and look at the sunset, it's amazing."

Talk about being blessed with a great husband and a beautiful city to live in.

  9. Last Sunday I went to vote in the parliamentary elections of my country, and I voted for candidates who are working for the prosperity of my country. Thanks for inspire me to look for prosperity in every aspect of my life.

  10. Hi Randy,

A great practice, expressing gratitude is. See the good in things and good things come to you. It's pure action/reaction.

As you note all it takes is a few moments to express your gratitude. It's the best investment I know of.

Thanks for sharing your inspiration each day 🙂

  11. I beliave, that when we are grateful to our family and friends, we feel ourselves more happy.

Lyudmila Kolokolova sais "If we would be grateful to what we have, we would had what we really wantl. But we always dream about things we don't have, because we don't appreciate what we already have".

  12. and thank you randy for today's post... and your wonderful writings and reminders...

    it's interesting...

just yesterday, i was out gardening and did just that... felt much gratitude for the wonderful sound of the birds singing in my yard as i worked on my hands and knees weeding away for hours......

hearing and really noticing them singing really put me a such a place of appreciating their beautiful sounds and so much more through that to the many things i'm grateful for - the work seemed so much quicker and easier...

this i one of my most favourite quotes from abraham/esther hicks that i love and wanted to share with you all....

"Appreciation is the secret to life. Become a person who appreciates, and you will thrive: you will fulfill your reason for being."
    -- Abraham

  13. The highest form of gratitude, and the most powerful, is to be grateful for everything in your life, the good, the bad and the ugly. I challenge all of us to start, right now, giving thanks for all perceived challenges in our life. This is how we learn and grow so that we can "be" someone different (better) tomorrow. It's easy to be thankful for the good stuff. Take it up a notch and try it on the hard stuff.

  14. This is one of the main lessons I got out of the book "The Celestine Prophecy" (which I've read multiple times).

The best part about consciously experiencing more gratitude and seeing the beauty in everything that surrounds you... is that it makes you feel so peaceful it's almost unreal! 🙂

  15. Hi Randy,

Thank you for you stepping down the stairs to my level and appreciating me!
I appreciate you and your brains so much!

  16. This is pretty close to poetry. Nice!

The question I ask people sometimes: If the stars only came out once a decade, how much would you pay to see them? Can you believe it's free? Go look tonight. : )

  17. Hi Randy,
Counting your blessings is a great way to begin & end each day (count your blessings instead of sheep)! 🙂
I am grateful for you and the work you do.
    Thank you for being you.
    Hugs, Ann

  18. Randy,
    thanks for the reminder.
Am grateful for the gift of life! Am grateful that i can type a reply to your wonderful blog.

  19. Hey Randy,

I think I heard you say once that if you grew up in Hawaii, you don't appreciate the Hawaiian summer until you've experienced the bitter cold winters of Maine - or something like that...

Experiencing gratitude, I believe is something that brings us into the present moment, a time where our minds are at peace and we can take in the beauty of everything surrounding us.

    Have a great day,
    Wayne

  20. I am grateful I have discovered this blog! How much more positive than looking at the news website during my breaks!

  21. Patrick William Moore said it wonderfully - It's easy to say thank you, but even easier to forget to. Letting someone know you appreciate their friendship, love, or help is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Write them a note, send a card or make a call. Let them know the value what they did for you. Even if you were a guest of someone's three months ago, tell them you appreciate the hospitality they gave. It's never too late to say thank you. People need to feel appreciated. Saying thank you costs nothing, but is priceless to others.

    Be Well.
    Paul.

  22. Love this Randy!

I'm constantly taking in the sky, trees, birds - it brings such joy, comfort. All we have to do is look up and there is a masterpiece there for us everyday. Thanks for the beautiful reminder.

    Peace,
    Linda
