Live Your Gifts

Posted By: Randy GageJanuary 17, 2019

Let’s continue down the rabbit hole of the last post, where I shared the purpose behind my work.  If you read that, then you know that I am very focused on what I am doing, and not looking for outside validation.  The day that you make that same decision, is a day your possible life paths open up immeasurably.

There’s a lot of societal pressure to live a life that impresses those around you.  As if there is some deeper meaning to those “likes” on Facebook and the hearts on Instagram.  But life is way too short, and goes way too fast, to live that way.

You can only be happy if you are sharing your gifts, whatever they may be, with the world around you.  But when you’re seeking validation or approval from others, you edit, restrict, or hide you true gifts.  And that is a tragedy.  Self-esteem comes from knowing you have something to offer, and offering it.

Let go of self-doubt.  Let go of needing approval.

Live your life.  Live your gifts.

  1. Just watched a Bob Proctor seminar on youtube and he said, he's not too popular with his CEO's family for hiring her away from her banking career but he said life is way too short to worry about what people think of you.

  2. Hamlet said, "To be, or not to be. That is the question." Your post echoes Hamlet's words. That is the main challenge people have always faced. Today, the stakes are even higher. We must stand up to to all the seductive images of who we "should be" that show up 24/7. I find it helpful to ask this question everyday. Who do I really WANT to be? Dan sullivan, founder of Strategic Coach, wrote an inspiring book on the subject. It's called, "Wanting What You Want."
