Limitless Possibilities

Posted By: Randy GageNovember 8, 2011

Many use the Bible as a weapon to beat followers into submission.  You can pull out a verse here or there to justify just about anything from sacrifice to murder, and many have distorted the message in an effort to control.  But taken in context and as a whole, the Bible is actually a wonderful prosperity textbook.  (Regardless of your particular religious belief.)

An example is the Gospel of Matthew:  To all those who have, more will be given.  Those words are problematic to many, and you can almost imagine an #OccupyScripture movement forming any minute.  But when you really understand the meaning, you see it for the prosperity consciousness it contains.

It speaks to the underlying principle that you attract what you celebrate.  (Note the distinction between celebrate and worship.)

If you focus on lack – such as all the things you’re missing that you want right now – lack grows.  However, when you live in gratitude and celebrate the blessings you have – you attract yet more blessings.

Shift your focus from limitation to unlimited possibility, because what you put your energy into prospers.

Ain’t it great!

  1. Precisely. My interpretation of Jesus Christ saying;

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

"Love (I) is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to God/ Heaven (Father) except through love (me)."

I will never know if I'm on course or off until I pass on, but this resonates as a quiet truth to me and if God is not pure love, I don't know what is.

    Love you lots. xoxo

  2. Bible as a weapon. Funny you should say it that way - as I just watch the movie Book of Eli this past weekend and one character was trying to find a bible for just that purpose - the ultimate weapon for mind control of the masses.

  3. One of my fave lines of Scripture RG. Focus on your wealth, multiply your wealth. Get into the feeling, and watch the god-like part of you co-create more wealth.

The Bible is a powerful personal development manual when perceived from a high energy perspective.

    Thanks!

    RB

  4. Are you really trying to say something about the occupy wallstreet movement?

I wouldn't think a movement to change something for the better is about celebrating lack. It is about focusing on the HOPE for something better.

I don't know about the interpretation of your bible verse, but I think demonstrations that focus on poverty, war, unethical bussiness practices, tyrannical government stem from a sense of lack and wanting more. However, isn't that good? When you demonstrate and take an activist position you are sending a message of hope, hope that maybe in the future lack in some instances can be obliterated.

Besides, I don't know anyone who celebrates poverty. But, it is a problem for many and at some point has to be focused on.

      1. Yes, I know you are Mr. RG. But, why couldn't they be demonstrating on the basis of limitless possibilities? I kinda think maybe they are.

In my experience, if any group can claim the feeling of limitless possibilities it is our youth. Thank Goodness. I think they are full of hope and gratitude. I bet they are all thankful for the right to speak out.

It just depends on how you look at it Big Guy. 😉

    1. Annie, curious on what your take is on what the "something better" is from this group. My take is that for the most part this group lacks a congruent message. From what I see they are protesting Corporate America. All while they communicate on cell phones / smart phones (thank you Corporate America), use social media as a way to spread their message (thank you Corporate America), and are covered from the weather by their tents (thank you Corporate America). Protests regarding large corporations not paying their "fair share" of taxes can be answered by closing loopholes and creating a flat tax. These people should be camped in front of the White House with a different message.

      1. The mentality of the "Occupy Wall Street" group reminds me of a song by Rush, The Trees. Entitlement (socialism) we saw how that one played out in Europe.

        1. It's very easy to blame someone else for the circumstances of your life, especially if you are hurt by another person or born into bad circumstances.

Like Randy and far too many other people, I sabotaged myself- sacrificing to others, putting their wants and needs first, playing the victim and the savior of the little guy; I was not Selfish.

But, I admit that I manifested a lot of my problems, and I was 25 years old before I became aware of it and started to change my thinking. 30 now, and I hope this year of my life will be a good one.

Want to show the world that musicians can be prosperous and build followings and provide value beyond music itself.

No group of people is easy for a lot of people (and even cool in some circles) to hate than happy, healthy, successful people.

If the Occupy Wall Street people really wanted to make the world better, they would be finding ways to increase their 1% figure.

If you hate what banks and companies are doing, do business elsewhere. Or better yet, be the change you wish to see in the world.

  5. Randy,
One of the best lessons I ever learned was the Golden Rule often said to be stated by Jesus - the rule is sometimes said to be 'Do for others what you want to have done for you'. So by acting prosperously in the service of others we all receive more blessings into our lives.

When you work to help others like you and I and many others too our lives are enriched.

    All the best to all,
    David

  6. Randy, this verse deals with how we handle stewardship of the talents and resources we are given. Those who have are people who took what G-d has entrusted to them and multiplied them, while those who have not went and hid the talent and did nothing to invest and utilize those talents and resources. A vivid commentary of what is happening today. The Bible is spot on!

  7. "It is a great thing, this reading of Scriptures! For it is not possible to ever exhaust the mind of the Scriptures. It is a well that has no bottom."

    ~John Chrysostom

    1. 1 Timothy 3

6 But godliness with contentment is a great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into the world,
and we can take nothing out.

8 But if we have food and clothing,
we will be content with these.
9 But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction.

    2. Randy,
Contrast the parable of the Talents with Jesus' words in Matthew 16: "What will it benefit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his life?"

In the context of the whole bible, it soon becomes apparent God is concerned with our eternal prosperity far and above some temporary wealth.

  8. I get this sense of inner calm knowing that i can definately live my life freely...and knowing that God/Love/Life/Freedom mean thesame thing just makes me know that the bible actually has much more revealed in it than we consider....
Thankyou Randy for shedding such light on the path.

  9. So how do you reconcile scriptures such as 1 Timothy 6:9 "People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction".

Do you not become just as guilty of pulling out a verse here or there and distorting the message in an effort to justify becoming rich and to control those with similar desires... using the Bible as a weapon to beat prosperity followers (those who want to get rich)into submission?

Thank God I don't believe the Bible is from God (instead it is just a wonderful collection of mans observations & opinions of God)so I have no problem with picking and choosing scriptures that I feel will benefit my higher good while disregarding the rest... otherwise you'd go nuts.

  10. I'm not here to argue the Occupy movement, what each Bible verse means, or whether corporate America is good or bad (although, I will say, 'it sucks,')...I'm here to agree whole-heartedly that gratitude is a gift that has transformed my own personal life and actions.

When life get's a little challenged, I turn to gratitude...it always straightens me out!

  11. Someone's trying to tell me something. That's the second time in as many days that I seen the same message! (from different authors of course. Lol)

Note to self: Stop looking at what you don't have and be grateful what you've already been blessed with.

    Thank you Mr Gage.

  12. Mr. Randy Gage,

Thank you for the post. I barely woke up (super late.) after a glass of water, before I hit the shower to start my day. I sat at my computer and saw your headline in my Google dashboard.

Glad I stopped by and read.

A lot of my coaching students ask me for the "#1 shift" which changed my business.

In nearly every instant, they are looking for a marketing method, or process/sales funnel.

It never fails - the look which I get when I tell them the TRUTH. They have to take care of the "battle field" in which their success or failure is determined... their mind!

Nearly immediately, I see a shift in their body language. A shift of resistance or rejection.

Thank you again Randy for the reminder and reenforcing this truth.

    Yours in Mastery,
    Antonio Easter

  13. The bible is not a novel, it's truth. If you question anything in it, then you loose the power of the gift of truth. Ask and you shall receive. What's the last word. In Jesus's name. If you are praying for prosperity, submitting your list to the universe and wondering why it doesn't show up? Have you surrendered? Is it not happening on your time clock in your way? wonder why? God has a plan. He knows what we want and desire. He knows where it will bring us if we focus on it. That's why there are so many obstacles. He works a plan, on his time. If we try to short cut it, we don't get the greatest gifts. If we loose faith, we slow the process. God will get us to where we want to go. The ultimate plan happens when we surrender and wait. It's where most of us screw up. We lose patience and put our own plan into effect. Try waiting with total faith and do your part. If you don't live your life, leaving it in Gods hands, you will always end up getting much much less than what he would have given you if you waited in full expectation. We still have to do our part. Follow his example with our lives, Live, Love, Forgive, and be grateful. There are majical moments every day. Simple growth through all the opportunites given, bring ultimate happiness. Don't look for the money, look for the opportunites god gives us every day. He's so anxious to give us the best. Give him the best of you and you will receive it. He will never let you down. " I will never leave you, or forsake you".

  14. Good afternoon Randy respected. I am very happy that I write to you
and believe you me answer my questions consistently. I really want to
    hear your advice. Regards Nasim.

  15. The bible is not a book of parts. it's the book of Life. Anyone can take any book and corrupt passages to suit an agenda, which is as dishonest as the agenda of those who nearly broke the world in what we labelled as the GFC

It was actually the greatest connected acts of financial greed and lust for money, deceit and dishonesty in the history of modern world finance to date.

And the insipid reaction to this illegality by the American authorities is as criminal.

RG, you talk about personal principal, honesty, integrity. The heads of the financial institutions involved are collectively morally bankrupt, as were those in authority who gained through it (until it all collapsed on us) whilst it flourished.

They've mostly retained their corrupt wealth. Where is justice?? Sold to the highest bidder - under the table?

I am a capitalist by the way. Democrats (read Australian Labor Party here) do nothing for me.

Viva a La Free Enterprise and Viva a La Integrity of it.
