How Your Opinions Enslave You

Posted By: Randy GageApril 16, 2019

If you truly seek the truth, drop your opinions.

Sorry to speak like a Zen master, but I believe there is great truth in this message as it applies to self-awareness.  Think back to the post where we discussed memes such as “I’m successful, I’m a doctor, I’m popular,” etc.  Those memes aren’t truth, they are your opinion of the truth.  (Which has been greatly influenced by the memes and environment surrounding you.)  And as long as you cling to those emotional opinions, truth will always be out of your reach.

You lose the truth because you are looking for a label to hang your ‘I’ onto...

Whether you say, “I am a success,” or “I am a failure,” you are making crazy talk.  You – the ‘I’ – are not any element of success or failure.  You are a human being who is experiencing what society has defined as success or failure.  But keep in mind that these definitions continuously change – and are created by a society that is sick.  Those “definitions” are mass culture opinions and have no relationship with the truth.

The truth is simply and elegantly the truth.  It doesn’t require a search.  Release your opinions and it is there, where it has always been.

  1. How magnificently elegant! ~ it's got to be the root of "divine dis-satisfaction".. you're bringing awareness to a whole new level my friend. #PearlsofWisdom #truthexperiencer

  2. What if people's opinions are their religious beliefs? What if they have the opinion that to release the opinions, is a sin?

    1. Actually I believe that is true for a few billion people. And that's what's holding them back from self-awareness and happiness.
