Hope Springs Eternal

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 25, 2019

Seth Mouton seriously believed that he could become the next president of the United States.  He quit the race Friday.  Eric Swalwell, John Hickenlooper, and Jay Inslee all seriously believed that they were actually going to become the next president of the United States.  They’re out now.

Howard Schultz might or might not still believe he’s going to be the next president.  But William Weld, and 22 other people absolutely still believe they are going to be the new president. Hillary Clinton was already measuring for new drapes in the White House.  There simply was no way she could lose in 2016.  These candidates don’t run because they think they might have a shot.  They absolutely believe in their heart of hearts that once they got out to the people with their message, they will win.

Of course, they’re all delusional and crazy.  But if you think they’re crazy, you should look at some other nut cases…

A peanut farmer from Georgia named Jimmy Carter, actually thought he could become president.   Barack Obama, an upstart community organizer at the beginning of his young political career actually believed he could thread the needle of a longshot candidacy and get elected.  Donald Trump, an egomaniacal, D-List Reality TV star didn’t actually believe he could win.  But his wife Melania actually did.

You know how these last few stories actually ended though. So maybe these crazy, delusional people are not as crazy and delusional as we thought.

Maybe they were just intoxicated with hope.  And maybe, just maybe, that’s a good thing.

What do you think?  Please share your thoughts and in the next post, I’ll give you my two cents.

  1. The Bible says that
As a man thinketh in his heart so is he
I believe that what we think and believe we can achieve
We must see it and believe it and then act upon it............. yes

  2. It is said that if you have a big enough WHY the how will appear, I also think that a big enough WHY allows for NO excuses or distractions whatsoever - also they may have bypassed the fear of failure in whatever form that might take. Making the impossible possible could be a huge WHY. I also believe there is a kind of Universal Intelligence which we do not know is there and sometimes it seems we get the so called Leaders which are necessary ( flight of fancy maybe, but is it?). I do not espouse hope on its own as the desire may be there but it takes a lot more than that to accomplish the seemingly impossible.

  3. what you just said describes my belief towards understanding attaining and enfolding prosperity as you describe it

  4. "So maybe these crazy, delusional people are not as crazy and delusional as we thought."

Oh, yes they are. Just like the people who supporting them. This is why thy can win.
