Giving Yourself a Fresh Start

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 31, 2010

January 1st is a great time to give yourself a fresh start.  And one of the best ways to do that is to conduct a “burning bowl” ceremony.

This is a process where you figuratively and literally release and burn the things you want to leave behind.  Then you replace them with the things you want instead.  So for example you may release overeating and replace it with exercise, or let go of revenge and replace it with love.  I do this every New Years Eve, and sometimes do it again during the year.  It’s powerful positive programming for your subconscious mind.

If you’re not familiar how to do it, check out the video from Prosperity TV on the subject here:

Happy New Year!

  1. Will do!

Something you said recently created a shift and a remembering in me...an ordering of importance in my priorities...so I am very thankful!

So let’s add this one to the list to achieving prosperity:

    1. Good life habits to promote right thinking
    2. Knowing your purpose
    And
    3. Being open to the influence from teachers and role models you admire...or others that are living out their dreams and spirituality (not just preaching it).

Just as lower influences can pull us down, higher influences can pull us up...it’s not just a passing of knowledge but a real type of resonance/entrainment that moves through you and reorders what you already know. It shifts all the many tiny little priorities that are inside of you and creates either confusion or clarity. You can’t show someone what they don’t already know just as you can’t negatively influence someone who doesn’t have certain inclinations (I think)...but we have so many parts inside us...those are the parts that can be influenced and shifted around...for better or worse...so in the coming of the New Year I would like to thank you for all the hard work you have done to believe in yourself, to achieve your dreams and for your continued growth. I wish you many blessings so that you can continue to be a blessing on others.

    Happy New Year Randy!

  2. Resolutions I Would Be Tempted to Keep...

*Spend more time watching TV / movies.
*Chat more over phone / Internet.
*I want to gain weight. Put on at least 30 pounds.
    *Stop exercising. Waste of time.
    *Procrastinate more.
    *Drink. Drink some more.
    *Start being superstitious.
*Spend more less time at work.
*Stop bringing lunch from home: I should eat out more.
*Take up a new habit: Maybe smoking!

  3. New Year Resolutions:

*I will give up chocolates totally. 100%. Completely. Honestly...
*I will try to figure out why I *really* need nine e-mail addresses.
*Assure my lawyer that I will never again show up drunk at a custody hearing.
*I resolve to work with neglected children -- my own.
*I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet. This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher.
*I will read the manual... just as soon as I can find it.
*I will ring the stewardess button on airplanes just to get her phone number.
*To stop constantly updating Twitter and Facebook.
*To stop shopping and talking on the cell phone simultaneously.
*To refrain from wasting $50 trying to win McDonald's monopoly.
*To never again engage in the endless debate over the Twilight Saga.
    * To stop uploading videos of unknowing people on YouTube.
*Abstinence from my textually active life.

  5. Great message Randy.. I'm feeling so free!! Gorgeous day here in Vancouver... sun shining, snow sparkling on the mountains... just played played Amazing Grace, then the Faces Had Me A Real Good Time to get the blood pumping... think I'll play Vivaldi's Four Season's next... happy new year to all my bros and sisters out there!!

  6. Yeah and it works! I did this a couple of weeks ago. I got the idea from YOU on your Prosperity album series you did years ago. I re-listen to them twice a week. Great meeting you in 2010...Thanks for all the super mentoring this year. Have a Happy New Year!

  7. Hi Randy,

    Awesome practice here.

Bob Proctor is big on burning the negative energies out of your life, I started this ceremony a while back.

Interesting point about manifesting trials and tribulations before the victory. The ego's need for drama creates excess baggage that doesn't serve us at all.

Thanks for sharing and have a Happy New Year 🙂

  9. Randy, I am so happy and grateful that I 'stumbled upon' your FB fan page ... your blog ... and your Prosperity channel. LOVE this 'burning bowl' process and am on my way to building a 'bonfire' in my backyard (lol). Looking forward to all you have to share in 2011.

Today in the Orthodox faith is the celebration of St. Basil the Great who said, "A tree is known by it's fruit; a man by his good deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship and he who plants kindness gathers love."

There is much love here 🙂

  10. Today is my 14th wedding anniversary and I think my bride and I will start doing this on this day from now on. Thanks for the idea. Happy new year!
