Four Ways to Make 2023 Epic!

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 27, 2022

If you want to create an epic New Year, it might take more than simply setting some New Year’s resolutions.  Here are four different suggestions to consider…

1) Replace Resolutions for Resolve

It seems so many resolutions over-index on symptoms, not causes.  (Drink less, work out more, etc.)  Be more interested in the big picture ideas, like how you become the person that makes healthy choices, wants to work out, and lives in harmony. Who do you resolve to become in 2023?

2) Author a Mantra

Choose a word or mantra to summarize what you’re looking to do in the New Year. It’s not so much about really tactics or strategy, but the mindset you want to approach the year with. (For those interested, 2023 the mantra I chose is “Shots on Goal.”) Your mantra doesn’t have to mean anything to anyone except you. You don’t want a phrase that comforts you, but one that challenges you.  Something you can tape up over your monitor or mirror to stare at you every day, driving you to suck it up and try one more time, even when you're at an all-time low.  A mantra that brooks no nonsense, takes no excuses, and refuses to buy into your bullshit.

3) Conduct a Burning Bowl Ceremony

Most of the world will bring in the New Year by getting drunk and making noise to chase away their fears.  Why not conduct a burning bowl ceremony instead, and spend the evening bringing in the New Year in a spiritual connection with your highest good?  It’s a great way to leave behind the things you don’t want in your life, and work to manifest the things you do. This allows you to let go of the limiting beliefs, poor choices, and wrong turns of the past year – and let them fade back into the nothingness from which they came.  You release things that no longer serve you and replace them with things that do.  (And as you do your list of the things you wish to let go, remember this: The change you fight the most is usually the breakthrough you need the most.)

If you’re not familiar with how to do this, I just created a new video and podcast on the subject.  Here's the video:

4) Plan Your Major Failure for 2023

Of course, I don’t actually mean plan to fail, but make a commitment that you will attempt so many bold, daunting, and challenging projects in the New Year – that you are certain to have a major failure with at least one of them.  Because if you’re not willing to fail, you’re not willing to succeed in a big way.  Failure means you have skin in the game, took a risk, and did something that the 99 percent aren't willing to do.  Instead of watching other people live lives on TV and in the movies, you chose to actually go out and live your own.

Just as the walls that protect you from rejection also lock out love – the barriers you erect against failure will prevent you from reaching success.  It’s a corny cliché, but the reason that failing your way to success is a cliché is because there is some truth in it.  If and when you fail in 2023, be proud of it.  It means you’re a warrior, willing to fight the fight.  Pick yourself up, learn the lessons it provides, and move on to the next step.  And if you attract criticism, ridicule or even some haters – you’ll know you’re on the right track.  Because successful people threaten mediocrity.

Instead of wondering what the New Year will bring you – you might want to do some critical thinking on what you will bring to the New Year.  Please allow me to be the first to wish you…

Happy New You!

  1. I have written all four down and really focusing on each one before moving to the next. I'm a bit confused about number 4, I don't want to fail. I have failed enough; I know that's what is holding me back. I had some real struggles the last couple of years, finally surrendered and stopped fighting the denial so that I could heal my Mind, Body and Soul. Now I am focused on manifesting and creating, continued health, wealth, and peace in my soul.

Peace, Love and Hugs! Happy New US! Rena

    1. I understand completely. Don't try to fail, but try enough bold things that you easily could fail at one. And you'll still be way ahead of the game. -RG
