Faith it Until You Make It!

Posted By: Randy GageJune 18, 2010

In yesterday’s post I said that I said the most powerful prosperity force in the universe is faith.  With faith, you can manifest abundance in the physical realm.

I also said that prosperity comes because you believe in it, believe you are worthy of it, and finally, expect it to manifest.  When you understand these three truths, you now graduate into the practical application of faith in action.

Your faith in prosperous outcomes is the key that unlocks the power in your mind to manifest it.  Because everything has its origins in mind.  (Ideas are centers of consciousness.  Your health, happiness, relationships, intelligence, and financial situation are all determined by the thoughts you give precedence to; the ideas you birth in your mind.)

Your faith programs your subconscious mind.  And the subconscious mind does not rationalize, analyze or doubt.  It simply does what it is programmed to do.

Last week I talked about the negative subliminal programming I noticed in a song we sang in my church.  Let me share another thing that jumped out at me…

The church is on a prosperity drive so they were promoting an “Unexpected Income” program.  The idea is people hope for unexpected income and then tithe on what manifests.  I threw up all over this.  I called Reverend Chris Jackson and suggested that the very idea of unexpected income was anti prosperity, and not in accord with the Unity principles co-founder Charles Fillmore taught.

I suggested they cross out the “un” part in the brochures, and change the name to the “expected income” program.  Because if you’re not expecting more prosperity, how are you going to manifest it?

Fortunately Chris and the committee loved the idea and enacted the change.  So now they are talking about income that may come from unexpected or unknown sources, but the income itself is expected.

Believe in your prosperity and you will manifest it.   And know it is your natural state; it is what is supposed to happen. True prosperity comes not at your EXPENSE, but at your EXPANSE.

I believe that faith is a superhuman power we possess—a mind power with the ability to shape substance.  Your faith in right outcomes is the only belief you need.

The foundation for every work is an idea.  Faith makes the idea real to you and your subconscious mind.  It even makes it real to others.  Then when others have faith in the thing you are doing, selling or creating, they see it as worthy of their support.  This creates the power of the Mastermind, and greatly expands your prosperity power.

Hebrews 11.1 tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Build your understanding of spiritual laws, know you are worthy, and apply those laws with faith and you will attract the prosperity that is your birthright.  (If you haven’t already, be sure to read my book, “The 7 Spiritual Laws of Prosperity” to make sure you know the laws.)

You’ve probably heard the expression, “Fake it until you make it!”  I don’t believe in that.  But I do believe you can modify it slightly and get the results you want.  You simply:

“Faith it until you make it!”

You up for that?

  1. Great post!

Faith is absolutely essential as it relates to personal success, and definitely as it relates to our ability to create reality.

It is a mindset, and I agree with you (and Jesus) that it is superhuman in power! Moving mountains is the goal!

  2. Randy, You have to stop this (just kidding) I was just reading the faith chapter in Think & Grow Rich. This really caught my attention, "FAITH is the "eternal elixir" which gives life, power, and action to the impulse of thought!" I had to read this one over and over.

Again, CONFIRMATION I am on the right path with lessons of prosperity.
I will definitely get your book on the 7 Laws of Spiritual Prosperity.
    Thank you!

  3. Great inspiration Randy - as usual. Thinking about things I have done or goals I have acchieved in my life. Me believing in myself or believing that I WILL truly reach that goal, has given me energy to persist and focus - and not give up half way there. And it has also been true for the opposite - when not having that faith or really believing in myself being able to do something or reach a goal... it just doesnt happen, I give up.
So, yes, to mix faith with whatever your obsessions are all about - is a powerful combination.

  4. A few years back, I didn't believe that I could become prosperous because someone said that to be prosperous you need to be not only whealthy, by healthy and spiritual. Well, I had none of the above and was very discouraged because I associated spiritual with religion and I didnt believe what religion thought us, so I was not at a good start. So, I decided to start on the health part. Without knowing what really was faith, I was practicing it because I saved myself of a lot of very bad health problems. Then I was introduced to a group called the teaching of Abraham and learned what was the real true spirituality. That was a great jump in my life. I went up a few notches in the ladder of prosperity. Now, for me it was more possible to see light at the end of the tunnel. I can have faith in me. I can have faith in what I want to achieve, but here is my question to you? This is where I need help I guess.... I need for people to have faith in me, that they believe that I can achieve it.
I work very hard and just to here people around me saying:"You're crazy, you'll never be able to do this", and this bothers me because they are people very close to me.
Today's writing has opened another door that will definitively help me. The catching phrase is: "Faith it until you make it". My problem was I was "giving up" on my project, on myself. I was not going all the way to make it. And another thing I need to work on .... getting rid of the negativity around me..... having faith that it will change.
    THANK YOU RANDY!!!!

  5. Randy,

Hebrews 11.1 is my favorite bible verse. Hope in this case is believing. It is knowing in your heart that it is going to happen without question. The evidence unseen is that time it takes to manifest.

Your suggestion to Unity reminded me of what someone said about Mother Theresa. She would never go to a war rally, but she would attend a peace rally. How we think and what we say makes a huge difference.

I think very shortly it is going to be common knowledge that we do shape our "substance" and the proof will come from science. It is already happening.

    Thanks for a great post

  6. I LOVE it!!

True prosperity comes not from at your EXPENSE, but at your EXPANSE! (I'm going put that on facebook- credit to you Randy)

I love it when someone says to me "Oh I'll believe it when I see it" and I quickly counter....nono...it's quite the opposite! You must BELIEVE it in order to SEE it. 🙂

  7. Randy,

So glad I found this blog. Everything you say about faith is evident in my life. I always believed things would get better and they did, although not as quickly as I wanted sometimes.
Keep up the good work. You are changing lives!

  8. "Fortunately Chris and the committee loved the idea and enacted the change. So now they are talking about income that may come from unexpected or unknown sources, but the income itself is expected."

    ---------------

A brilliant reframe. The income can come from unexpected or unknown sources...AND still be expected.

    BRILLyint! 🙂

  9. I , too, do not like the "Fake it till you make It"; however "Faith It Until You Make It" is absolutely perfect!! Thank You Randy.

  10. Love this! Thank you!

"Faith it until you make it" makes much more sense. I've been taught to fake it and while I had managed some success, I never really had faith that I would 'make it' and only to really fail in the end.

Like Carole, I'm easily discouraged by those that are close to me, friends, family or even coworkers that I trust and admire, find every angle to put me or my ideas down. They probably believe they are protecting me, but that's far from the truth.

It's easy to not want to pick up the phone after the any number of 'Nos' if you don't have faith - the naysayers creep up in your mind, remind you that you can't 'do this' and you believe them.

  11. Bravo!! Randy.
I love the idea of prosperity comes not at our expense but our expanse. Very insightful and true! Thank you for always expanding my mind.
    Love ya babe,

  12. I find that even when I'm feeling off or that I lose focus of my vision, it's important to fall back and maintain my Faith and Purpose. As my faith increases so does my energy which leads to gratitude, which for me, is THE most important Way.

Wattles says that we must think in a Certain Way and that's to say we must always maintain Faith, Purpose and Gratitude. So yes, Randy, Faith is incredibly important as is understanding that success and prosperity is the natural state and that we must believe in it and believe we are worthy of it..

  13. "So now they are talking about income that may come from unexpected or unknown sources, but the income itself is expected."

    Randy,

I believe there is only ONE source that creates manifestation through channels unknown or unexpected by us.

  14. You rock Randy Gage! This is one of your finest!

I have been meditating on that scripture the last couple of weeks & love the amplified version of Heb 11:1

1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

NOW faith....right now...even before it ever manifests. I expect the unexpected! I anticipate the inevitable.

Thanks for the lack attack & helping others see how to see things before they see things. This is what God has wanted us to do for eons!

    I appreciate you!

  15. Great stuff Randy... you got any spiritual advice for an agnostic leaning towards atheist like me....

    yours,

    David

  16. This is my passion.. This is my vision... to teach this to people - because I think it's probably the most misunderstood principle.

(Shoot, look at the tweak you were able to give your church program)

I've got this blog and many posts bookmarked - but this puppy is getting printed out.

  17. It's kind of as with affirmations. They might sound uncomfortable or unreachable, but that thinking was also the problem in the first place, which is why you want to change it.

On a higher level, you always know what to do, and not to do, but we experiment and create, also with "mistakes".

In reality, there are no accidents or mistakes.

We are Creator-Gods. There is a book titled "God Games: What Do You Do Forever?" What a perfect title that really says it all.

A Course In Miracles and also the Edgar Cayce stuff is simply communication with their own Oversoul. Everyone has an Oversoul that is connected to a lot of existences for a lot of people. It's also the connection to God-Mind. Start getting connected yourself! Pull the plug in and download from your true source!

It's not Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's God-Mind, Oversoul and Soul Personalities (and yes, you are also far more than just one, more like infinite ones).

    THE DIFFERENCE IS HUGE!

  18. ask them to stop their negativity and if they don't listen then be ready to defend yourself each time. Also minimize your contact if they don't change

  19. "FAITH it until you make it... remembering that we need to continue expanding all our lives... FAITH it for life

Actually I am working on letting go of the "How" and focusing on my top 5 passions...what I love. I realized my passion is not to be a millionaire or to own my own business but I was trying to make those my focus on how I would achieve/manifest what I am passionate about. By having FAITH... expecting...but not specifying the source... not specifying the how. And money can come as a result of our passions... we just need to tune into what we love (which is also what God wants for us). God wants us to be happy, fulfilled, loved, healthy, wealthy...prosperous.

  20. Semantics and obfuscation...

There are meanings and there are distinctions. What you are describing I hold as a distinction intention. Some say faith is a noun for the verb believes, making belief and faith the same, as belief is faith in action. This is collapsing distinctions like making doors and windows the same objects. To arrive there one must go through a number of permutations from the original context, distinction and meanings; copying a copy of a copy of a copy of the original.

There is a certain kind of power in this. Black cats are unlucky. This statement as a belief puts a lot of power with black cats. Held as superstition black cats have less power and viewed as myth almost none. Then they are cats. [Also notice one did not jump out from your screen reading this.]

The ‘trick’ is aligning your ‘intention’ with Truth [not yours the real deal] generating every possibility you may choose along the alignment. Prosperity is a function of intention.

In my world 'faith' is obedience to Another's will without any doubt. Reread Hebrews from the middle of chapter 10 through 11 and see if it changes anything.

  21. Ha I know.... I'm too much of a good person. I sit them with them, hold their hands and say: "Poor, Poor pityful you" and when they do not support me I clam up.
I took care of others for the past 50 years. Now, I'm going to take care of "ME" for the next 50 years.
    Carole

  22. Tried that, Eddie. Works for a while and then it gets to where it was and sometime worst. Now, here is the big question: "what am I doing that is making this happening to me?"
You are right I should defend myself, but I am the kind of person that bites the lower lip instead of just telling them to "stop".
    Carole
P.S.: I've done a lot of progress, and I am willing to do all it takes. So maybe, I will have to take the boxing gloves out.... hahah.

  23. Hi Randy
Love, love this post! You are always so right on. I attend Unity in San Diego under the guidance of the awesome Rev Wendy Craig-Purcell, who recently covered Eric Butterworth's book Spiritual Economics. Such an amazing book! Everyone should read it. (And your book too, of course 🙂

One of the huge lightbulb moments for me during the course was the literal root of the word prosperity, meaning "to move forward hopefully". I took it one step further and looked up the word hopeful, which is defined as "expecting to get what one wants." So literally, prosperity is living in a constant state of "moving forward expecting to get what one wants."

I see people getting stuck on both sides of this idea. First is the getting unstuck and start moving. Of course it's Faith that gets us to that "moving forward" part. And then there is truly expecting to get what we want. It's the positivity that keeps us always expecting the outcome we're looking for. Your post hit both of these points so beautifully!

    Blessings,
    Nancy

  24. I just read this tonight:

"Discovering your unique gifts, your special talents, your deeply felt passions leads you to deeper and deeper realizations that in turn bring more and more fulfillment. Soon you will discover that this is the whole purpose of life- to experience ever-expanding joy. That''s why we say, "What you love and God's will for you are one and the same." God's will is for you to experience more and more delight in your life.
This is true whether you believe in God or not. The structure of the laws of Nature work in just this way, bringing you more and more delight the more aligned you are with that you love." Janet & Chris Attwood from their book "The Passion Test"

  25. Bernice,

Thank you for the time adding the above. I love that. And I believe that, and I receive that. Thank you for being you. 🙂 A hug from me. -Saachi

“...Discovering your unique gifts, your special talents, your deeply felt passions leads you to deeper and deeper realizations that in turn bring more and more fulfillment. Soon you will discover that this is the whole purpose of life- to experience ever-expanding joy...."

    Randy,

Thank you for today's post. I just can't help telling God 'thank you' for you... coz you truly are being used of God in many different ways and a blessing to many of us. . As high as you are in your position having achieved what you've achieved so far in the physical realm, and you are as highly inspirational and motivational God-given human being (creature) who is loving enough and has the mental/emotional capacity to come down, being able to relate to all levels of people - from the level of the beggars on the streeet (meaning those who are in poverty) to the level of people who are in the process of climbing up in the prosperity journey with an positive attitude. There is something about you to make people so comfortable and comforted just by your presence, when you're such a big rockstar, whereas some people whose achievements are such a minor like a mere tear drop of a sparrow when compared to your achievement and yet their energy is spent so much in hunger just to get the world's recognition, acting like and making themselves look like so-called movie stars when they are not, by self-promotion after self-promotion, making loud noises all the time all day as seen in a hierarchical military school in the World War II. I don't know how to put what I'm trying to say here in words, but you truly are awesome. You and your difficult past experiences are actually the gift from God to us and are one the of the best humble servants of God who can stirs us up and the world in the correct and positive ways. And..humble but very powerful. I don't really want to embarrass you by saying such a thing like this and saying more than enough, really, but I can't help it. Thanks so much for such an inspirational post which reminds us of the fact of life - FAITH - yes, faith alone can change things. May God continue to bless with both prosperity and super good health, I pray. Love you, Randy. I'm sending you a big hug::: Saachi

  26. Dear Randy,

When I read your post today... It really hit me... Recently I join Network Marketing , and I just started make money... I am totally NEWBIE in this industries. I have accumulated more than 10K, within couple of month, however... less than few weeks... The money all gone... A lot things came up at one time... My sister have to borrow money from me to maintain her company, my car broke down, my girlfriend need money from me too.. And I left only few hundreds in my bank account...

I dont even have any money to eat with my prospects...

So "FAITH" is the final resource i have... To be frank when I dont have money, it does affecting my performance in the business... I need to begin all over again.... Eat Instant noodles.... And Hot Dog...

I listen your audio "What You Need To Know First", i have the FAITH again... So this week I begin all over again, build up my network and income...

Will share with you the outcome after few weeks... By using only FAITH.... You can Convert it into "PROSPERITY"

    Best Regards,
    E_MAN

  27. I have learned from experience that Faith is so important...when you have choices, always choose in favor of your passions... and to do this, know your passions & your purpose-

I read this in the book "The Passion Test" (about keeping your attention on your passions)

Janet Attwood was at a conference with Bob Proctor ("The Secret")..."One of the first things Bob said was, 'do you know how easy it is to be wealthy?...
He reached into his coat, withdrew a file card, and showed it to the group, It said,

"I am thankful and happy for the following..." and it listed his five goals in order of priority.

Bob explained that the mind is like a computer: Whatever you input into the mind has to get printed out or show up in your universe sooner or later. Most people spend their time putting their attention on what they lack instead of what they choose to create, and so they get more lack.
...'One of the most important parts of my day is spent looking at this little card.' ..As soon as one goal was fulfilled, he replaced it with a new one."

  28. I heard a church service a while ago that was about faith...

The sermon said we all have FAITH- but asked what are you focusing your FAITH on?

    Matthew 17:20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Hebrews 11.1 tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

    > I am sure of what I hope for and I am certain of what I don't see.

The sermon said most people have a sorta-kinda faith.

Mark 9:23 "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."

Why do we have tension when it comes to our belief- what I put my faith in?

the sermon said there are 3 types of faith:

1.) Zero FAITH: Our Focus is on the outcome rather than the one who gives the outcome... it zeros out our faith...we look for signs that God is really there... people don't get the outcome & sign they are looking for and are tempted to zero out.

2.) Formula FAITH: we try to follow a formula of what worked yesterday or in the past..."been there done that"...

What God did yesterday isn't a formula for today.
What got you here today won't get you to tomorrow

3.) Growing FAITH: ask for help..." help me with my doubts"...
Faith and doubts are not opposite...Faith & unbelief are opposite.

Faith is not a destination... Faith is a journey of growth that we are always on... connect & focus...Jesus grows our Faith:

    Hebrews 12:2
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

  29. Thank you Randy. This is one of the best posts that I have ever read on any site. Thank you for all of your training and mentoring.

    God Bless,

    Helen

  30. The discourse on Faith in Hebrews 11.1 - end is one of the most eye opening I have come across.

It starts with the fundamental definition of faith: the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen and then says that by this faith, the elders (for that, read anyone who has faith) were set above the common multitude.

Then in verse 3: by faith we understand that the things that are were created from things that do not exist. The wording of this has so often been a stumbling block, but now I see that our faith brings things into physical reality from the unseen substance that permeates and fills the interstitial spaces (I think Wallace Wattles put it this way) - could it be dark matter / energy?

Then, we are treated to verse upon verse of heroes of faith; men and women who lived by their faith.

Truly, faith is the most powerful force in obtaining our greatest good.

    Randy, keep the flow coming.

  31. I may be going off the subject but this just came up again today...

God says, "Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don't let anyone put you down because you're young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. 1 Timothy 4:12

I heard in a prayer church "we know we are not worthy"... This bothered me because I am reprogramming my beliefs that I am worthy...worthy of love, health, wealth, abundance, joy, life...prosperity...which is what God wants for me.

    2 Thessalonians 1:11
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.

I have been doing a lot of self development and watched a Tony Robbins video where a man did not think he was worthy to live.

    Colossians 1:10
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

    1 Thessalonians 2:12
encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

I heard in a Chip Ingram video, "Divine Design", that someone did not think they were worthy of receiving their gift yet.

    Ephesians 4:1
[ Unity in the Body of Christ ]1As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. of the calling you have received.

Why do people think they are not worthy? Why do they deny themselves of everything that God wants for them?

  32. just read this in "Jesus Life Coach" by Laurie Beth Jones (I have had this book but just looked at it tonight):
"Jesus gave us his statement when he said, "I have come that you might have life, and have it abundantly" (my paraphrase of John 10:10). Just for a moment repeat those words, adding your name in the sentence as if Jesus was talking to you."

In my case it would be, "Bernice, I have come that you might have life, and have it abundantly."

  33. I used to be just like you---bite my lower lip....but something happened when I started getting more and more spiritual---the higher I went, more was "required" of me--I would get into more and more episodes of being in situations where I was being put with people who showed negativity towards me, non-supportive....Why are you being put in situations like this?? because you're not doing anything about it, you're "taking it", and the #1 requirement of moving up on the spiritual ladder is that YOU BE YOURSELF---Your True Self.....and you're not doing that.....I wasn't either.....One day I spoke up---talked back---I thought the world would end, I thought everyone would hate me, I thought the situation was going to fall apart........Guess what, It didn't---everything got better......I had created a miracle in my life when I spoke up for myself and showed my true self.......Everytime I am confronted with a situation where I am afraid to speak up, where I just let things go, it always goes badly----then I summon up my courage, speak up and things miracously turn around....
You don't need boxing gloves---you just need COURAGE to speak your truth........It is very common that you will lose some people around you when you do this---but you know what, the ones that stay are true friends, the ones that leave you because you showed your true self, were holding you back from your glory.....
    Blessings....

"You will only be able to see the rainbow, when you stop looking down at the muddy puddles" Heather

      I appreciate you!
      g
