I have been learning Ancient History for a while now. I really didn't know about Ancient History and I just thought the Bible was the History of the World and the Universe. Well, maybe I really didn't because I took the issue to a Nun in Catholic grade school. Probably around 7th or 8th grade. They said I could believe history if I believed it was God creating it.
I was busy with school and life and didn't do a lot of research. The past few years I started doing more research on it. I wish I had done it sooner.
Ancient History:
I found interesting stories from Ancient Mesopotamia and the beginning of patriarchal society and religion. They also had stories about a flood and a story similar to the story of Moses floating down a river. They had other stories too.
I also found Ancient Egypt and their belief in eternal Life and Equality for ALL. I think Moses was Egyptian.
Then I read about:
*the Herodian Dynasty,
*Herod, the King of the Jews
* Bernice the daughter of Herod Agrippa,
*The Jewish-Roman Wars,
*the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE by Roman Emperor Titus,
"The beginning of Christianity by Jews during this time,
Second Temple Judaism was centered not on synagogues, which began to appear only in the 3rd century BCE, and the reading and study of scripture, but on the Temple itself,
and on a cycle of continual blood sacrifice (meaning the sacrifice of live animals).
Torah, or ritual law, was also important, and the Temple priests were responsible for teaching it, but the concept of scripture developed only slowly
While on one hand Jesus and the early Christians had all been ethnically Jewish, the Jews by and large continued to reject Jesus as the Messiah. This was a source of embarrassment for the Church and affected early Christianity's relationship with Judaism and the surrounding pagan traditions."
*Christianity banned in Ancient Rome for several centuries,
*The Pax Romana
*The 5 good Roman Emperors
*the Acceptance and spread of Christianity,
In Deuteronomy 14 New International Version (NIV):
"Clean and Unclean Food
You (Jews) are the children of the Lord your God. Do not cut yourselves or shave the front of your heads for the dead, for you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession."
Do you think Jews are God's chosen people?
I do not think they are the chosen people. I think ALL people are chosen. All are born connected to Spirit/Love. People learn to sin and to turn away from God/Spirit/Love. We learn to hate and discriminate. People learn that they are better than others or that others are better than them. We learn to be poor and poor in Spirit/God.
Babies are connected. This I know. They do not need to be baptized or to believe in Jesus for their connection to Spirit/Heaven.
In conclusion, Ancient History is interesting. There are some clues in the Bible that appear to be connected to different times, people, and places. I think we have to learn how to tell the story of life. Eternal life.
Tell stories that say we did not sin. We are triumphant. We have to own our story. Don't let your salvation be dependent on someone else's life, suffering, and crucifixion. You have the power to stop sinning and go to heaven. We were born that way. People can learn to love again.

Pray tell - how do you know babies are connected to Heaven? Please provide proof - no gut feelings allowed.
