One thing you can count on if you want to be a leader in any field: sports, the arts, business or anything else. You will face some challenges and adversity. Some will be threatened by you. Don’t be deterred by this.
In fact, know this: If you really are doing something worthy, you're going to piss some people off. And if you're not pissing some people off, you're probably mired in mediocrity.
Know the difference between the people who care about you and want the best for you - and those that have petty jealousy and would tear you down. And process the feedback accordingly.
One more thing to know: Real leaders are like kites. A headwind takes them higher.
