Co-Creating Your World

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 17, 2009

Congratulations to so many of you that worked on the questions in yesterday’s post about what you attract.  I know it couldn’t have been fun for some of you, but this is where the real breakthroughs are made.

In order to raise our consciousness, change our results, and become the person we want to be, we must learn lessons from the challenges we all must go through.

This understanding will resolve why we are getting the results we are manifesting, and only then can we change our way of thinking and co-create the future we desire.

Now some of you related some pretty horrific things that had taken place in your lives.  First let me acknowledge those and offer my condolences.  Second, I will tell you now that I won’t be answering the questions many asked about whether I thought they were responsible or attracted such horrible things, or other calamities such as the 9/11 attacks, and natural disasters.

This blog is not about me judging you, and I certainly don’t have all of the answers for everything in your lives.  I have more than enough on my plate managing my own life!  What I do see this blog as, is a forum where I can start the dialogue, ask the tough questions, and get you doing the critical thinking that allows you to produce your own breakthroughs.

In the cases of you losing a loved one, that’s not really the kind of situation I was thinking of.  I’m looking for things that were almost all about you.  The examples in my own life...

Getting shot in a robbery, having my business seized by the tax authorities, a number of failed businesses, dysfunctional relationships, etc.

Now in each case, an argument could be made that I was just collateral damage as things happened around me.  And there was a time I believed that.  But no longer…

Some of you still think that as well.  Someone wrote me to say, “I did a list of the worst moments of my life and they all were things I had no control over.”  Sorry, but I don’t buy that either.

I happen to believe that everything that happens to me is manifested by me in some way, and I am a co-creator.  And that’s where we’ll pick up on the next post…

  1. I want to remember the einstein quotation.
he said: Imagination is more important than khowledge.

I think we must think of creating new facts instead of buring ourselves in the facts currently surronded us.

we must imagine the possibilities. and act in the way that leads us to make these images become reality.

it is the diffrence between two choice. each of us have a story. this is not the case. it is our choices. do you want to let the situation determine your life, or do you want to change it to what you desire? it could be difficult. difficult. I really mean it. but the CHANGE is still POSSIBLE. for me the answer is simple: I prefer to die, if I know I am going to give up and let my dreams, my aims, my images of my desired life die. for any person, there are obstacles and there are desires. which of them are more powerful?

  2. Hi Randy,

Thanks for the thought provoking mentoring. Like you I used to blame my issues on the environment around me, made me feel better that I wasn't responsible, until I noticed the excuses weren't moving me forward in a positive direction.

your mentoring is inspirational, when things get tough I can imagine you encouraging me to continue (I suppose a victim would see you as nagging).

Anyway, you have made a difference in this persons life. The way of self improvement isn't always easy but when I look back now I can see substantial gains and I'm sure continued improvement into the future will bring me closer and closer to the life that was meant for me. It is nice to be more in control of my future and managing my life instead of just letting life happen to me.

    Cheers, Steve

  3. Getting shot in a robbery, having my business seized by the tax authorities, a number of failed businesses, dysfunctional relationships, etc
The common denominator is that You were in the middle of the creation. I can see how I created my limiting beliefs but to say that I bring everthing into existence. Well, only if life was that simple.
I also agree that how we are in control on how we react to what happens to us depending on our awareness as human BEING.
Thanks for the questions. Can you please talk about core beliefs? What are core beliefs? and How did you changed yours?
    thanks

  4. Once again, to quote Alan Cohen who wrote amongst other books, "Relax into Wealth"..

"Conditions do not create consciousness. Consciousness creates conditions"

My understanding of this is that to the degree we surround ourselves with people that have limiting beliefs, think thoughts that are unproductive or negative and make choices that are inconsistent with what we 'say' we want, we reap the conditions. Change you thoughts, change your life.

    Thanks Randy..

  5. We all have control, but many people find it comforting to believe they don't control things that don't go their way... probably because control is related to responsibility and if you accept responsibility...you cannot blame anyone or anything else for the unwanted results, and you would have to give up being a victim of circumstances...control (which is basicly our focus of attention) over a situation can be negative and positive, that's exactly how law of attraction works, ...and as sad and unfair it may seem to many, it works whether people know about it or not, believe in it or not and use it deliberately to their advantage or not.
So it would definitely serve people to find out more about how to direct their own control (focus) over things and create/co-create deliberately, instead of by default... a lot more satisfied and happy people would be running around in this world :o)

    Great topic Mr.Gage

  6. Yes - i believe this and see how it plays out in my own life.

I am uncomfortable looking at the situation of somethings to know I had a hand in them.

    Hummmmm ~

    Thanks Randy

  7. Very TRUE !!! I like this sentence "I happen to believe that everything that happens to me is manifested by me in some w done in ay, and I am a co-creator" ... the result we have today is what we have done in the past ...

  8. My first post!
While it may be true that we do not attract the specific manifestations of failure / disaster / wealth / abundance, we create the framework within which it can occur.
The secret of success and the secret of failure is the same thing: we become what we think about.
Great post, Randy, great comments all you people.
Going back - a car can and should be so much more than a means to get from A to B

  9. "In order to raise our consciousness, change our results, and become the person we want to be, we must learn lessons from the challenges we all must go through.
This understanding will resolve why we are getting the results we are manifesting, and only then can we change our way of thinking and co-create the future we desire."

I look at my failures and what went wrong.
For example, if a relationship failed I try to figure out the reasons why it failed to avoid repeating the same mistakes. If it failed because of conditions in the relationship or communication problems, I try to learn from those mistakes. I invest in myself to learn more about the failures. This could be by reading or self development. I try to be more aware of those issues.

I also look at what is currently going on in my life. If something was positive but it now is attracting some chaos, I ask myself what changed and figure out how to resolve it. It is a process.

  10. Randy:
You are the real deal to me. I am not interested in dogmas, philosophies, treasies, someone's opinion or what somebody said. They are dead anyways.
I am only interest in direct experience. I am where you were 20 years ago.
This is what happened and this is what I did to get out of the my self-made hole.
thanks, I appreciated you taking the time to answers my questions or disagreements.
It would be very helpful for us to see how you made positive changes over time. and the drawbacks you had.
This is what I did wrong, and why You wouldn't do it that way today.
If somebody is not living the quote they are quotating,It is another intellectual self-denial trip.

  11. Randy,
As I've read thru the latest blogs, I have really appreciated the directness and accountability. I completely own the info on a personal basis too. My circle of friends has completely changed as I have grown and my life now includes mentors that are way ahead of me and always growing themselves as to keep me on my toes.
I now believe that the thoughts that I have had, choices made, people hung out with far in the past have carved my path and created the reality that I deal with today. So to have a brilliant future, I have to sow positive thoughts/behaviors and create nurturing friend/mentor circles. This will attract opportunity when needed the most. I'm excited.
The painful part is having to sever relationships that are intimate yet ultimately harmful.

  12. Well, to go back to yesterday for a minute, the worst thing that ever happened to me was living out on the streets. For years, I said that I drank and did drugs because of all of the other influence in my life. Simply put, I refused to take responsibility for my life. I lived an "if only" life...If only my wife wasn't a...If only my boss wasn't a ...If only these people would get off my case and on and on. I spiraled down to the point where I was living in an abyss of drugs and alcohol and yet I felt it was "the other people and circumstances" in my life that caused my situation.

The day that I could finally say "I am responsible" for this mess and it is my repsonsibility to get out of it, that was the day my life made a significant turn. I learned how ask for help, I learned how to take responsibilty, I focused on change.

So, what happened? I went from living on the streets with a daily drug and booze habit, to living a sober life for the past 24 years now. I went from driving a truck in a bad ass section in East New York (Brooklyn), to heading up the sales effort for my company. But alas, I still have work to do. As my friend always says "More will be revealed"! I am the co-creator...good or bad.

  13. Randy you are so right!!! It has taken me years to see that I am a co-creator. Thanks to you, I am finally pulling away from this crap. I am now working to co-creat successes and I look forward to reading more entries about this concept. Doing a 180 is tough after 44 years of negative programing. Thanks for your help!!!

  14. I do agree I am a co-creator of my lifer and I am taking full responsibility of my life, both that I like and not which I both make...
    Merry christmas Randy!!!!
    thank you...

    Gene
