Chase the Challenge!

Posted By: Randy GageJuly 6, 2011

Challenges, obstacles and problems are the engines that drive progress.  This is true for each of us personally, and for humankind as a whole.

Want to become wealthy?  Find a problem and solve it.  Want to become healthier, happier or stronger?  Seek out a new challenge.

The benefit that any challenge provides is it forces us to think at a higher level to overcome it.  You are overcoming to become.

The compass was developed to overcome the fog.  The first candle was created to overcome the darkness.  Sometimes it takes losing someone we love, to really appreciate all those still left around us.  When you face heartache or hardship, choose to become teachable and watch new vistas open for you.

Here’s an old video from my Prosperity TV channel with some more thoughts on this:

So what challenge will you chase today?

  1. I create energetic music for this very reason..

To bring a good energy into the world.

It's going to be challenging as hell finding a way to connect with people with it, and creating things related to it, but it's worth it just to learn and connect with others.

      1. I agree with you Randy . I now watch what I say so that I do not automatically Affirm things. I will case the new Challenge of searching for the right friends in the New area I will be moving. Like minded people that want to be successful. I will also overcome self doubt about some of my own future success as that tends to be a road block of mine.

I have just got done reading "Excuses Begone" By Dr Wayne Dyer and it really helped me with affirming certain things that we deal with on a day to day basis.. GREAT POST RG

      2. Agreed.

Easy to fall into that trap. But, it is my responsibility to notice errors in my thinking and correct them.

I will connect with people. It's the quality of people that you connect with, not the quantity.

  2. Developing a game changing approach to learning for adults that will result in them having as much fun learning as they do playing! You up for that?

    1. Fun and learning - what more do people want? Sounds like a total recipe for sucess. How long are you going to keep us in suspense? When are you going to spill the beans? Good luck in the meantime.

  3. Randy.
I am a millionaire - I am convinced of it - but my swiss bankers keeps making mistakes because my statement says otherwise. In the meantime I am waiting for the $ to appear but I KNOW they are on their way. Will keep you posted....

  4. You are overcoming to become.

    This, I love!

There is a shift that seems to have taken place at some undefinable moment in my own path of personal growth, and where I once felt 'set-back' from obstacles or challenges, I now experience 'butt-kick' instead!

When things don't go 'my' way, I have decided to believe that there is a better way for them to go ... and my job then becomes to find that way. 🙂

Usually, that means some creativity, diligent work and discipline is required on my part, but when I rise to the occasion, the results are almost always far more amazing than I could have ever imagined.

Life would be nothing but mediocrity if we stopped at every road block and didn't stretch to see exactly what we were really made of. It brings to mind for me a quote from Thomas Carlyle ...

    No pressure, no diamonds.

And I choose to shine! 😉

  5. Hi Randy,

Obstacles are stepping stones. The function of a challenge is to move us higher.

Just as a plane can't take off unless going against resistance, we can't find out what we're capable of unless up against something. Up against some sort of challenge.

Complacency sucks. Complacent people die a little more each moment. As Bob Proctor said, with some folks, when their heart stops beating, it's just gonna be a formality.

A person who challenges himself begins to realize what he is capable of. You don't know what you can reach, until you stretch. The more stretching, the more challenging, the more solutions, the more benefits you provide to others.

Shying away from challenges is a slow, insidious form of dying. Sure, you might be breathing, your heart might be beating, but it's either grow or die, create or disintegrate. If you don't challenge yourself, you don't grow, and if you're not growing, you're dying.

I put myself into uncomfortable situations repeatedly on my current trip, challenging myself, because I know I grow from it. 2 months ago, I hadn't traveled outside New Jersey in 22 years. Now I'm living in Phnom Penh for a few months, after spending time in Bali and Phuket. It was a challenge, and still is at times, but damn worth it, I'd say.

Thanks for sharing your insight Randy!

  6. Jim Rohns closing words when he came to Geneva.
"My wish is for everyone in this room is that you become a millionaire. Not for the money but for the person you become in the making."

  7. My challenge is really to talk to people. It is not only a challenge for today, this is a bigger hurdle for me. So how can I break it down, when I am already struggling to talk to 2 people a day? (I guess I start with one person a day 😉 )
