Changing Your Thoughts

Posted By: Randy GageAugust 17, 2010

I want to clear up something else, before we looked at how you find people of higher consciousness.  In an email I got, a lady said that she and her husband struggled a great deal when they first got married.  And now that they are doing quite well, she said that they are exactly the same people they were back then.

Now I respect her, and I know she believes that.  But I don’t believe that for a second…

Just like I don’t believe I am the same person that I was when I was struggling financially.  I became prosperous because I became a prosperous person.  And I think that is true for everyone.  If that weren’t the case, the Universe would be weak at its most critical juncture.

Broke people think differently than rich people, healthy people think differently than sick people do, and happy people think differently than unhappy people do.

Now do I believe that has the same CHARACTER as they did back when they were broke?  Probably they do.  And I believe it is their character that allowed and caused them to develop into the prosperous people they are today.

So what do you think?  Would you agree that your thought patterns have to dramatically change to manifest prosperity in your life?

  1. - Randy, awesome post.

    You're on my twitter account.

I was pretty much avoiding your website altogether, honestly.

You kept posting about your site, and it just seemed a bit. . .too much.

    But, i guess it worked!

I actually read an article. It happened to be this specific article. I love it.

The best line you have written here is "I became prosperous because I became a prosperous person."

Most people live life from the outside in.

They believe that life just HAPPENS to them.

    This is a fallacy, bro.

"We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are."- The Talmud

It is a fact that every single possible reality we could ever live in surrounds us at every single second of the day.

It is up to us to FOCUS on what we want.

When we believe we have the very thing we desire before we physically manifest it, it sets off skyrockets of vibrations into the atmosphere.

I'd hate to make this sound so. . ."lala-landish", but i can't think of any other way:

We Become What We Think About All Day Long.

It's not that the reality of a wealthy life isn't there.

    - it IS.

    Wealth surrounds the poor too.

But, they just don't see it, because they see themselves as poor.

    We can't change people.

    People can only change themselves.

Trying to make a poor person see wealth is like trying to make a blind person see the color red.

You get EXACTLY what you are looking for out of life. You get what you expect.

And sometimes, when you don't get what you expect, it's only because you were meant for something even more. Maybe karma plays into effect here; however, the laws still stand perfectly well when they say that our thoughts create everything.

  2. Yes, I agree ... My thought patterns have changed dramatically since I started reading this blog and changing my limiting beliefs& memes. Thank you!

    1. And thinking it is learning to be happy in the now... Feel prosperity now... Before it is manifested... I may always have thoughts to change... Work to do on me... But I can have prosperity now... I don't have to wait.

  3. Randy,

I think the couple you are referring to probably think they are the same. I think what they mean is that money has not taken them over and they are still rational nice people. I do think that they had to think differently than what they were doing when they were broke.
In my mind I think I look the same way I did 20 years ago. However pictures from 20 years ago look like I am my son.
Two years ago I thought that this was going to be a horrible recession and it was going to affect me. Try to hold on to your money etc. Well that didn't work and neither did trying to spend my way out to invent a business.
I had to become more. I had to eliminate self limiting beliefs. I also had to allow myself to go through the process and to finally do what I wanted to do all along.
    THanks,
    Jim

  4. An author you know Randy is noted for the phrase "Thoughts Become Things" Going a bit deeper, thoughts seem to me to be founded in our belief system.

Personally I am working on removing all doubt which for me is the source of limiting beliefs.

Love this post Randy and thank you.

  5. Would I agree that my thought patterns need to dramatically change to manifest prosperity? Absolutely. Everything begins in the mind. Our thoughts bend the universe to our will.

  6. Yes, I agree. And your blog helps a great deal. A book that has impacted me tremendously in a favorable way, one that I re-read all the time, is "Spiritual Economics" by Eric Butterworth. Prosperity is an inside job. My "work" everyday is the 5 inches between my ears.

  7. Without an ounce of doubt! Found some of my old diaries when I was broke - I don't recognize that girl at all. Amazing how much growth can happen with focus, intention & learning from those who went before me. I'm looking forward to look back 20 years from now to what I wrote today and having the same revelation. 😉

  8. Hi Randy,

Your experience follows your thinking. As Steve noted above Thoughts Become Things. When your life changes substantially it's in direct response to the thoughts and feelings which you chose.

Thanks for sharing the important reminder.

  9. "Now do I believe they have the same CHARACTER as they did back when they were broke? Probably they do. And I believe it is their character that allowed and caused them to develop into the prosperous people they are today."
    --------------------------------

In my opinion, that is one of the most profound paragraphs ever written regarding prosperity and prosperity consciousness. Both of the two sentences in that paragraph speak volumes.

    1. I'm with you on this Bob. Character is the very thing that moves us from broke consciousness into prosperity consciousness.

Without it, in my opinion, we never make the leap!

      Thanks Randy and Bob!

  10. RG,

Just as you mention, I believe it is our character and the desire to a greater degree that allow/cause us to WANT to develop into the prosperity minded people. I am definitely not at the point where you're at, so I really can't speak it for myself at this stage yet, however, as you've been teaching us with unlimiting beliefs and firing us up to follow how you did to have achieved what you have achieved, we can follow and do the same by staying as a prosperous person.

"So what do you think? Would you agree that your thought patterns have to dramatically change to manifest prosperity in your life?"

"I became prosperous because I became a prosperous person." I like the way you put into words. We have to have a prosperous mindset, staying in the positive belief system, not falling off from it, but rejecting and removing all the doubts that may come into our minds at times. It's our conscious decision and the willingness to become a prosperous person to become prosperous.

Although I haven't been adding my comments here as I always did before, due to my limited time/and writing it in the language other than the one that I grew up with which takes me a lot more time, I know that I know I can rest assured that you're always here and that visiting your blog pages and knowing this is where our minds are renewed and stirred up again and again, I know we/I can continue on continuing on to get there someday. RG, thank you for that, and thank you for being there for us and for me. I pray you will be continually blessed with a continued success and the good health. We love you and so do I. Thank you, thank you, thank you! A BIG hug from me. - Saachi

  11. I know that how we have been in the past about our thinking should not have to dictate our present life.

I believe that productive intentions and actions to become prosperous can shift our thinking to align with our dreams and transform us to where we become our authentic selves.

Instead, we can get caught up in fear, lack of confidence, disappointments, inactions and dramas of life resulting in failure to be more of who we are.

It is important to be aware of our thoughts . It is necessary to police our thoughts. When I get, lets say, a negative, haunting thought or a thought I am not interested in entertaining, this is how I address it "Not Now babe (give it any name)" It has become less frequent, but it works.

    Thanks Randy.

  12. I guess I agree, what is implied and may be misconstrued by the statement is the part that bothers me.

My experience has taught me what I think is important, what I do is even more important. In fact you can think what you like, but do something that is congruent with generating money or any outcome you like and you will arrive. Tenacity, resilience, patience, dedication are all necessary ingredients and If you don’t have them then the prize will never be yours. I’m sick to death of people sitting round trying to think them selves wealthy.

I spent years around new age thinkers, years….The only time I every saw these people generate money out of thin air was by selling ways to make money out of thin air to people that wanted to believe you can make money out of thin air by adjusting your thoughts. “Adjust your thoughts, here buy ¬¬¬¬this product and you can be like me”.

The people that I have meet that generate million of dollars have a single focus, money…they get up go to work and make loads of money. They then play hard and then go out and make more money, the math is simple and it’s not esoteric.

Their actions not their thoughts make money.

And maybe I’ve jumped a step maybe Randy is just talking about getting the beliefs lined up then taking some for of congruent action. Personally the believe part is simple the action is the tough one. The tenacity to keep going takes a lot of energy; it can take years, even decades.

    1. MG, you raise some good points. two things come to mind. First, if you watch some of the videos on my YouTube channel you'll see I've repeatedly warned against the "If I watch 'The Secret' 27 times won't my new Ferrari pull itself up into the driveway?" mentality.

Also, when you change your thoughts to prosperity consciousness, you do take action. Once you have programmed your subconscious mind with the right code, it leads you to take the proper actions.

      -RG

      1. MG and RG
Thoughts become things only because It's a belief thing. You are not taking action because you don't believe it will give you the results. You have to change once you change you will have more belief then you will take more action.

People get discouraged in there MLM only to move to a new company they do good for a bit then get discouraged and move again. They do good at the beginning when they first move but the belief stays the same and comes back. It's a pattern.

belief creates action, action creates confidences, confidences creates belief, action, confidences, belief....

      2. Hi Guys,Read all the comments, yeah look I know what I said was very set and maybe not congruent the general thrust of the site and what Randy is trying to achieve.

I think Randy kind of got to the root of what I was getting at with “If I watch ‘The Secret’ 27 times won’t my new Ferrari pull itself up into the driveway?” mentality. And that is it right there.

If half those people that bought the secret bought a simple course for example in real-estate and then got in their car and drove down to the real-estate agent and bought a cheap house and renovated it, then put it up for rent or waited a little and resold it they would be closer to that Ferrari then trying to think it into reality. I know because I just did it. It was actually pretty straight forward.

I think everyone here gets that point, I realize I am “assuming” that ones internal beliefs would say its o.k to buy a house renovate it and turn a profit.

And I think that may be that's what RG is talking about…My question is why would you not want to turn a profit?, isn’t that what we do?

    2. MG, I don’t agree with the following: “In fact you can think what you like, but do something that is congruent with generating money or any outcome you like and you will arrive.” I believe that your thoughts and actions must be congruent otherwise the actions will not produce the desired results.

    3. You have given yourself the answer already without realizing it: “In fact you can think what you like, but do something that is congruent with generating money or any outcome you like and you will arrive.”
Read this sentence again and again and you will come to see that you indeed don't think correctly and then they old saying comes to mind: "Whatever you think, you are right".

  13. Randy, I absolutely believe your thougts have to change dramatically, and I also believe that it is a never ending process...

Thanks for your great posts, they are in my 15 minutes of personal developmemt in the morning.

  14. Randy,
Thank you for all of the time, energy and effort you put into your blog-and for the honest way you approach some very difficult subjects.
Regarding prosperous mindsets leading to prosperity. My opinion is that people are either prosperous people or they are not, let me explain.I think people who have prosperous mindsets have them in riches and in poverty. It is a mindset born of contentment and/or financial freedom-not wealth. Not all rich people THINK differently than poor people, but they do act differently, because they are able to.
I know many people who can clearly speak about what they would do with $10M, even though they are sweating the end of the month-but they are not able to act on it.
I have known both riches and struggles - but over both, will choose financial freedom everytime! I know plenty of very wealthy people who are slaves to money, and they are very sad case studies in my opinion.

  15. Randy, I agree with you 100%.

BTW, are you coming out with any new products soon?

Thanks for your time and wisdom...

    1. I have a short new book in final editing just for people in the network marketing profession. I am next planning to do another audio album on prosperity principles.

      -RG

  16. You keep it simple and profound. Thanks for explaining the difference between thought patterns and character.

Yes, changing one's thought patterns changes one's ability to attract and cultivate prosperity.

  17. These are very good points as everyone has shown here. Changing our thoughts, the words we choose when spoken or written and of course, eliminating the limiting beliefs in conjunction with taking action will bring us to prosperity.

The process is challenging though. I find myself experiencing the limiting thoughts and then doing my best to change them. It's an ongoing process but I'm committed to change. Part of me is still clinging to the old ways which is part of the process. I preach these methods but as the saying goes, the preacher must live them too!

    Thanks Randy.

  18. You have to police your thoughts at all times.

You simply can not afford the luxuary of a negative thought.

You will have to experience every thought, here or elsewhere.

Free will can never be violated.

However, you can still be deceived, and that is what is happening on a grand scale on this planet.

That sounds negative for some, but as far as I know it is a true statement, and that is a big difference.

It is not only true but also vital to understand.

You have to know who and what you are and what is happening in order to move forward.

    You need a baseline.

"Even if you are in a minority of one, the truth is still the truth."
    Gandhi

  19. By mostly focusing on what you want...Your mind has to change.

If a person went trough The Midas Mentality program ...their mind would change.

Do that again in six months..your mind would change even more.

    Mine did..:)
Thank You Randy Gage for such a powerful program.

I m now working on the 4-hour work week book.

  20. So very true - and even with the character defects that people will have, growing and accepting the prosperity is a result of educating oneself; like rings on the tree - adding to and amending the core - building on existing character. I deal with a lot of people in a wide variety of economic levels. I can see how they carry their character and issues - some like an incredible burden and some without a sign of burden - yet both of them without much prosperity in their lives. Time reveals to me those able to displace that sense of burden improve and evolve so much more quickly - others are stuck with it. Change is good. Embrace it.

  21. MG, I don't agree with the following: "In fact you can think what you like, but do something that is congruent with generating money or any outcome you like and you will arrive." I believe that your thoughts and actions must be congruent otherwise the actions will not produce the desired results.

  22. Of course!Your thoughts that you own for real make your life. And the way you absorb the world arround you, how you look at yourself.
I have always looked at myself as "a very healthy person":And I am!I have said I am struggling with money, and I always did.But there also have to be something in your childhood that includes your thoughts in your character.Right? You can change it, that is true. But if you were the opposite of me in the childhood allergic to everything, sick all the times and had astma too, you wouldn´t automatically get the thoughts of "I am a very healthy person".
we are always the same charactermbut we use it differently, right?

  23. Yes I agree that my thought patterns has to dramatically change to manifest prosperity in my life.

Maybe here you are pointing at my deepest dilemma. My resistance to identify with what most people call 'my person'. If who I am is the consciousness behind my person and my caracter my purpose is to refine inner stillness. But who I am is also this person who want's to expand and be rich.

How can "who I am" be both? That is my dilemma.

Please answer me Randy: ARE you your thoughts? I hope your answer is no.

I was again touched, this time even deeper when I read Atlas Shrugged. By reading Ain Rand I was reinforced in that you must think. In dramatic scenes I've oposed teachers in spirituallity who foolishly claimed that the mind is limited. They are foolish in that they against better knowing teach that the mind is limited. It's their thaught that the mind is limited that limit their mind. Everything will fall apart if we don't think - there even wouldn't be anybody left to tell us not to think.

The aim of meditation is to experience I who experience it all. Also the thoughts.
Some call something else meditation which is isn't.

Freedom comes by expanding ones consciousness. Without solving my dilemma my probable almost certain future is that I will still struggle in attracting wealth 10 years from now. I am not up for that.

Love and respect, Pierre Leyssac, CPH

  24. I find it hard to think differently. So many people behaving such a way everyday, making me to become depressed and think negatively.

I took many years to change my thinking and i really don't know how to............. Went i change my Personality, those toxic people don't like change and they bring me down.

How To Change My Whole Character To Positive?

  25. Even Bob Proctor says that you can manifest prosperity, when you make a little change in your character or personality.

  26. I agree 100%. While we cannot change our upbringing & instilled character, we certainly change as people during the varying stages of our lives.

Case in point: I am a born & bred Texan, but after 4 years in Miami, have little in common with my Texas friends. We still have the same character & love one another, but our lifestyles are quite different...

      1. We definitly can!It is more difficult than to change the thoughts, or at least the everyday thoughts, but It can be done-OVER TIME!My idea right now about it is:You look at a part of your life where you have challenges, where you are not 100% "in".It doesn´t work the way you really want to.And then you change that part dramatically!Probably your wrong ways of thinking is especially mirrored in that part. Me, for example, who have always been more of a philosopher than a "social life maker",I have problems to make my home as nice and beautiful as I want.I always buy the wrong things, do wrong priorities etc, and it never looks as I want it to look, and that can keep me from inviting people. It is obvious that it has not only to do with how it looks, but there is certainly a problem in this part of my life and has been since childhood.Lack of money, lack of self confidence, lack of trust in other people and their judgements and behaviours etc etc.My ideanow is that I have to do it completely different, if I am going to have success in my home area. And I know that when I work it out, my life will change dramatically and so will my subconsious mind who will start to tell me that I am worthy of having all that I never had until now.
When people come to your home you want them to say Oh, how lovely, how beautiful, how friendly it looks here! But it also have to do with the fact that you are able to accept that you are GOOD.This problem has grown into almost a trauma for me over the years and the only way to change is to start from zero.It will change my character. But today it makes me depressed.I am not going to ask for your advice but I guess all your blog posts has given me the answer!Love ya Randy

  27. i believe that how one feels and resonates vibrationally (overall) has a big impact on what we manifest and create...... more and more and the older i get reveals this to me... (((o)))

  28. Absolutely Randy. I have been on a 10 1/2 year transformation process that is really just getting ramped up. I totally agree about the character part also. What is it they about a fool who wins the lottery... he is now just a rich fool?

    Great article RG!
