Seek Greater Challenges

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 13, 2012

A question I get asked a lot is how I stay positive, focused and keep the right mindset.  There’s been many different answers over the years, but I’ll share what it is now…

The one single thing that keeps you positive and moving forward, is a belief that your greatest days are still ahead of you.

It’s pretty hard to be optimistic if you think your best days are behind you.  If you think it’s downhill from here on out, what would excite you to get out of bed in the morning?

So how do you create the expectation of even greater things in the years ahead?

Challenge.

Always giving yourself new challenges – challenges that force you to grow.  And like an athlete, sometimes your physical skills will decline with age.  But you counteract that with wisdom, experience and savvy.

I’ve accomplished some amazing things.  But they’re nothing compared to what’s ahead.

So, what about YOU?

  1. That's a great, clear simple answer. It crystallizes the fact that I do indeed always just accept that cooler things are in the future. I like your distinction that even greater days/experiences are ahead because that clarifies that they are building on what you are doing now. I often find people who are living FOR the future...the present is never satisfying, they always want what they do not yet have. That does indeed drive them forward, but it also robs them of enjoying the accomplishments they achieve.

  3. My best years are ahead of me! I've just started, I feel more energetic today than ten years ago. I would not read your posts every day if I was not convinced that this is better than the shit that is on TV right now. I thought from the beginning that I did not have to follow your example to abolish the news, but God how wrong I was. I was much more influenced by the crap than I thought. Thanks for the tip.

  5. I was challenged way enough in my past-life and there still is this naive thinking left, a survivor, something that tells me, I will accomplish great things - due to all those challenges and my various lessons learned. it must be my self motivation, the teenager who has hunger for positive challenges!

right here, again I am with you - you´re right.

    ENJOY!

  7. When I'm going to do something I fear. It is a challenge. I recently found out I am unemployable. The whole time I was an employee and, recently, I doing steps into the unknown. What helps me go forward? Vision.

  9. I have no doubt that my greatest days are ahead of me.

I like how you mentioned you've had many answers to the question over the years. If I'm asked today how I stay positive I have to say it's because I know that "this" (whatever this is) is for me, for my highest good and I want it. Even at times when I may not see the good in a situation right away, I still believe there's good in everything, every happenstance, every experience.

Maybe it's an opportunity to learn/grow/expand. Maybe I'm utilizing the Vacuum Law of Prosperity on a higher level than my conscious mind is recognizing in a particular moment. Whatever the case, it is, in Truth, "for me."

As for being questioned on how I stay focused.... well, I haven't given anyone a reason to be asking me that one. But I'm working on that.

    1. @Matt Shorty Wells Having been around you a few times at events, it is impossible not to be happy in your company. You seem to be cut out to be positive-I know you will harness that in a focused way whenever you decide.

  11. I'm doing greater things now than I was 5 years ago, 10 years or 20 years ago. I don't doubt that this year will be better than last year or that 5 years ahead are so unbelievable that I can't wait to get there sometimes. Dreams, Vision, Belief...they are all so powerful. It would be so awful to have such a myopic view on life that all my good times were behind me. I will say the age thing IS a challenge, but that too I'm trying to keep in check and relish the growth in the other areas as you mentioned. Thanks for the daily messages, they really help keep me on the right track.

  13. In my experiance, and I think long about it, for me all this messages for me are a lie. Sorry to say that and it´s destroy a lot of hopes I know. To stay positiv is for me only "to work really on my dreams". That means to do every day something what is a little part of them.

  20. I started a FB challenge this week that lasts 14 days and it is to limit sugar intake to 15 grams or below. So far it is a learning experience as I always checked fat and ingredients.

  22. 30 in 3....that was my personal challenge this week. 30 contacts in 3 days. I had a few rules for myself, but it was a "get out of the comfort zone" type of personal challenge.

  24. My life is a challenge itself. A new challenge now is to build a new business from scratch after I've crashed the last. To bring it up to a million dollar mark in its first year. Another challenge is to publish a new book in 4 months. This really stretch me. But I am totally excited.
