Can Your Words Keep You Broke?

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 11, 2010

Last post we discussed the emotional attachment you may have about money and things - and how that could keep you broke.  I hope you read through the comments, because it is a fascinating discussion.  Let’s look at another aspect of prosperity:  energy

Everything in the universe has energy.  Even things that you may think are inert matter such as a table, rock, and even currency actually at their core essence are energy vibrations.  And all energy can be attracted or repelled.

And where most people get into trouble in this area is with the words they speak.

When I asked people in my old coaching program how prosperity comes about, here are some of the statements they came back with:

“God, this is so simple if you can get the money out of your greedy heads for one second.”

“Putting it simply, if you attach importance to money (whether you actually have a lot of money or not), you are not prosperous.”

“It’s only money.”

Statements like these actually repel money and other manifestations of prosperity.   And I believe they program your subconscious mind for lack and limitation.   That’s where we’ll pick up on the next post.  In the meantime, please share your thoughts.

  1. Hey Randy!
I feel that money is energy likewise prosperity.
I do have a fear of money but I work with every day to less my fear for doing the energising action to create abundance. Sometimes I look for a easier way but as I said I improve every day and attracts more money.
Since beginning of december when we had a event i Stockholm its getting more and more real and I feel right now that the more energy I put in to money the more it returns in form of paychecks. Thats great. Looking fw to a great event in SFO . Alf

  2. Words have power.

No wonder they are a crucial part to religious ritual, and were used in magical incantations.

There is some truth to ancient mysticism; you could gain control over something or someone by calling its real name.

    Any thoughts on this Randy?

  3. Words are extremely powerful. We work every day to be conscious and mindful of the words we say out loud and to ourselves and to re-write the writing on our inner walls. It seems so much easier to 'go with the flow' of negative words. It's all around us. Companies spend billions to put it in front of us and we gravitate towards the entropy it represents. But ultimately, it only hurts us and drags us down.

My "work" as an EFT Practitioner is all about re-writing the words we have owned as truths. False truths. It's amazing what happens when you can release those and own a new and better truth. Negative words about money are one of the top issues.

A personal thank you to you Randy as well. You have been instrumental in helping us find our way through the thicket of lack thinking with your own bold and empowering words on money, prosperity and happiness. Thanks for the continuing inspiration!

  4. Gain control over something by calling its real name? Haven't really heard that before. I don't really deal much with control, as I'm more concerned with whether energy is positive or negative, and whether I am attracting it or repelling it.

    -RG

  5. My thinking is and some pf experiences suggest that energy is neither positive or negative- energy just is, but it`s our thinking that makes it so. It seems to me that it`s our reactions to the energy which can keep us enslaved to fear.

Love the interaction on your blog Randy and also the fact that you interact too.

  6. So, it has nothing to do with gaining control of your life? It is more about the energy you bring into it?

    Still learning.

  7. Randy,

You have the best blog. Is that true or because I agree with it. It has been written many times what we tell ourselves is what we believe and achieve. It is that annoying little chirping voice that constantly judges and stays in those lack and limitation emotions. In my life I am no saying "STOP IT". I replace any thoughts, words or pictures with the statement the Universe is my constant, instant source of supply and is meeting my every need now. That is from Unity Church. I sometimes have to do it 40 to 50 times an hour. Thanks,
    Jim Story

  8. Randy, as always you hit the nail on the head! Money is energy and people need to treat it well. I grew up with one parent saying broke and the other saying can't afford. (Just imagine the confusion I had!!). Over the years I had to fall off the horse and get back on a few times until I FINALLY got it!

Words are powerful and all of us need to be dilligent about what we say because sometimes you can 'talk up' things rather quickly.

We must remind ourselves that we are deserving of the best and it is our birthright to have prosperity and abundance! Nuff said!

  9. I think sentences like this ones (and the emotions that are attached) are a mirror of the belief one carries.

For instance, if I'm afraid that money will not come my way, I'll create struggle around the word and will attach meaning to it.

    Money = disconfort
    Money = fear
    Money = unhappiness

Everytime the word comes out, so come the emotions and the tightness, and they express through words, sentences and finally manifest that reality.
This memes are so ingrained in the social consciousness that one has to develop a deep understanding and awareness to let go of them. And it CAN be fun!

I'm changing all these paradigms as we speak.

So, money provides material confort, allows me to enjoy the best that life has to offer and provides me with opportunities to further grow, expand and prosper.

    Thanks Randy

  10. WOW, great post. For me, MONEY is FREEDOM! and no I am not in bondage. I simply have more flavors to choose from, a better quality of life to create, more time and the funds to become more of the person I authentically Am.

Randy, words are powerfully energetic. They are alive. The phrase "He spake and it was done." In my opinion, what you say is what you get. You say it you manifest it! One step further, you think it and you experience it.

My mantra: I am a vessel for receiving MONEY NOW, and I am grateful.

    Warning: BEWARE of Words!

    Have an extraordinary day, everyone!
    L.E.E.

  11. I believe this goes back to what you've said before that you can't take advice from broke people. In society we tend to hang around people who are in the same financial boat we row. We speak the same language - lack or prosperity.
It takes changing our mentors and who we take advice from to change our language. Hang around financially prosperous people and you will speak financially prosperous words and get the results. The universe (God, or whatever you want to call it), is really simple: Ask and you shall Receive.
What words you speak (Ask), will bring you the circumstances and things you have (Receive) in life.

  12. A couple of immediate quotes come to mind.. One is from your Principles of Prosperity, " The best thing you can do for the poor, starving and down trodden is not to be one of them".

And another from my "Bible", or 'The Science of Getting Rich', is that being rich is what the formless substance, God, the Universe of whatever you wish to call it wants you to be rich in order that it can experience the Abundance it has created. Those that think otherwise do not understand the Universe.

  13. Great post.

What I have learned is that money will make one neither happy or unhappy. Money does nothing. We do! How we respond, interpret, react, decide about money has nothing to do with money. It has to do with us and our reactions.

The notion that money in and of itself is possessed of some intrinsic power is more likely the root of all evil than money itself. The notion that money will make one happy or unhappy is laughable.

Does this mean I don't want money and lots of it? Does this mean that living in poverty is some sort of noble way of being? Absolutely not. It means that I have separated the idea that my happiness or unhappiness is independent of money.

    John Santello

  14. I have heard this thought as well. However I do think energy can be skewed negative or positive. As an example when you enter a room where people have been arguing and you pick up the negative vibrations.

And when you say, "money isn't important" or "it's just things" I believe that creates negative energy around them. More on the next post...

    -RG

  15. One of the books I am reading is "Awakening: Fulfilling Your Soul's Purpose on Earth" by Ping Li.

In her book, Ping Li says about our illusions of truth:
"Your parents did the best they could. They gave you the best education they could offer . They gave you all their love and hope for you, but they also passed on the misunderstanding and suffering of their heart and soul. They also passed on to you their beliefs and values (consciously or unconsciously) through their behavior patterns and interactions with you and others. Their personal opinions , perceptions and attitudes toward life and the world were implanted in you as well. (Challenges you face in your personal relationships may mirror those in your relationship you have with your parents.) From your parents you also learned how to perceive and deal with money, job and career. Your self-image and self-worth, and your ability to deal with the world outside yourself were developed in the early years of your life."

So, besides the news, movies, TV shows, books, etc.,
we also get negative programming from the people around us.
And they also got the same programming from similar sources.

I believe we can change our programming. We can let go of the negative programming and replace it with positive programming.
It takes work though. I saw this quote today:

"The way is simple, but not easy." ~A Course in Miracles

  16. I think I'm going to copy - past and put this on my mirror right next to my front door to read everyday before heading out! Great post L.E.E.!!

I am grateful for an accountability partner/mentor who always tells me when something I'm saying isn't aligned with my goals of achieving greater and greater abundance out of life.

It helps to partner with someone who can help reflect what you are saying that may not be helpful to you. It works for me.

  17. I'm feeling confused about this statement:
“Putting it simply, if you attach importance to money (whether you actually have a lot of money or not), you are not prosperous.”

Randy, you have implied this is a non-prosperous way of thinking.

Do you mean "If I think having lots of money makes me prosperous, then that is a limiting belief". If so I agree.

    Your feedback is welcome.

  18. Yes, a lot of programming gets revealed in words as well as thoughts used.

People should record themselves for a whole day and analyze it. Seriously. Too bad we can't record our thoughts in the same way yet. 🙂

And remember there's another side to this as in "all talk and no action".

Talking "too much" about something can also take the energy out of it. In many cases that is the desired outcome and should be used a lot more!

  19. Thanks Randy. By bringing energy to these sentences brought up in the time of your coaching program, you just reminded me of the transformation of my socialistic beliefs to ownership of the dynamics in capitalism that your coaching program provided.

In one of the last weeks topics, Who's Going to Save the World?, you wrote:

"We save the world by saving ourselves. And we save ourselves by growth. Moving forward, not backward. PROGRESS is the answer for the world. Learning new ways to grow crops. Biospheres, hydroponics and growing food on other planets. Harnessing the power of the sun, the air and the oceans. Turning salt water into drinking water, deserts into farmland, and garbage into fuel. Transforming lack consciousness for prosperity consciousness."

I couldn't agree with you more. It was a knot I had to untie myself. I just couldn't read what you'd written, though it was all there in your post. I was so preoccupied in the lack notion that senseless accelerated human consumption was the cause of the threads you mentioned we must take care of. But I got the connection finally, that expansion always is the answer. You really had my head spin there.
The outcome of that thread was I stand for being and becoming a radical Green-tech Guy. However that will unfold in the future to come. I foresee that those not reading this trend will perish - this is our time.

  22. As always, thanks Randy. Great Blog, great group of folks sharing their thoughts. No competition here, just sharing love and respect. Gratitude to all of you.

Words are excellent ways to move energy. They can be used to perform acts of kindness, express gratitude, and convey information. Words can also be used to make you rich. That's a good one. Ask any successful motivational speaker (Randy Gage, for instance) if words are powerful ways to manifest money. Obvious answer.

Words can be used to make you broke. Words can also be used to make you rich. I think I'll go with rich.

My hope is that all of you make money today in a way you've never thought of before. Thank you for your words.

  23. The words we use, the thoughts we think ,the actions we take and the company we keep all have an impact. We can keep saying and thinking the right things but when the company we keep is not congruent with that thought and flow, the company disrupts the energy. Being capable of recognising the blocks and taking correct action to ensure continuity of the abundance in your life.

  24. "I had a vision of a way we could have no enemies ever again, if you're interested in this. Anybody interested in hearing this?

It's kind of an interesting theory, and all we have to do is make one decisive act and we can rid the world of all our enemies at once.

    Here's what we do.

You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense every year? Trillions of dollars.

Instead, if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded ... not one ... we could as one race explore inner and outer space together in peace, for ever."

  25. This comment is really interesting.......Joao, I have the same issues with my mindset when it comes to money. I never put it into words until now, just based on past experience and the feeling, the ENERGY--when I have money, the fear is there, when I don't have it, the fear is there. I am going to spend some time reflecting on all the ways having money will make my life better, and work on replacing the fear, discomfort, and unhappiness, with words that are in service to me and to attract the prosperity and the money that I desire.
