Blow Up the Status Quo

Posted By: Randy GageFebruary 14, 2013

When I was first releasing excerpts from Risky Is the New Safe, people were shocked.  They thought it odd that a prosperity guy was writing about layoffs, disruption, currencies collapsing and other challenges.   But of course the real message in the book is all the as yet undiscovered opportunities that are hidden in those challenges.

You create wealth by doing two things:  Adding value and/or solving problems.  To do either requires a special mindset…

A mindset that is impatient with the status quo.

So the next time you’re annoyed, irritated, disappointed, piqued, or exasperated with the current state of affairs of something – look for the breakthrough!

  1. I guess 95% think about how they can adjust to the new challenges.
Probably 5% want to change the status quo and go for new things.
And it must be about 0.1 % who finally changes it.

To me, RISKY offers 95% of new possible directions for change!
(Lets give 5% to the others who compete w/.....)

  3. Love this concept "..next time you’re annoyed, irritated, disappointed, piqued, or exasperated with the current state of affairs of something – look for the breakthrough!"
It's not just the current state of affairs in the politic/economic realm, but ANYWHERE in our lives. And oh my goodness, I DO those emotions all too often! Instead of being annoyed irritated disappointed piqued & exasperated with myself when I am feeling annoyed (etc) with some particular circumstance, I WILL look for the breakthrough.
Just now, I'm feeling a bit annoyed about the breakfast dishes piled all over the counter....
The breakthrough is NOT "wash the dishes" but rather...
What can I do so that this is no longer an issue? What new & different system can I implement in this family which will result in something OTHER than the current mess?  Now you might think I'm being frivolous here, but ...
Interestingly enough, my friend Marla, http://www.FlyLady.net took this very situation, the messy sink, and turned it into a valuable and profitable business.
    Go figger!

So now...I'm really looking forwrd to next time I'm annoyed (etc) about ANYTHING. It might be the clue that leads to the breakthrough that leads to the solution of another issue, to whit, how can I leverage a whole bunch of more income....

  5. When I think of things that are annoying and irritate me, I'm reminded of your posts about airlines, which then leads me to the post office, checking out at the 'express line' at the market and a few others.. Seems to me there's a solution in the offing here, though it might also mean eliminating jobs.. But overall, the VALUE that gets added and elimination of the irritation and annoyance is what's important.. Anybody want to Mastermind this?
