Are You Woke?

Posted By: Randy GageOctober 16, 2018

Legendary writer Henry Miller had some fascinating thoughts about what it takes to become an artist.  He famously said, “First you have to be crushed, to have your conflicting points of view annihilated.  You have to be wiped out as a human being, in order to be born again as an individual.”

Youch!  Tough words.  But I’m feeling what he’s saying.  And I think it applies in a similar way to what it takes to be successful and prosperous in the world today.

The millions of memes sweeping the world, and the new technology which allows them to spread faster – have caused humanity to evolve much deeper into the herd mentality.

The result is you have literally billions of people who have been programed to think money is evil, rich people are bad, and it’s somehow spiritual to be poor. They believe work is something to be endured.  And they think a good life is one in which you keep your head below the cubicle and reward yourself with Netflix on the evenings and weekends.

And for many people, they need to be wiped out, with a wake up call of divorce, disease, poverty, or other symptoms of a life of quiet desperation – until they’re woke enough to leave the herd and take the risk of living a prosperous life.

How about you? Are you woke?

  1. I am woke. Being woke, you know how great it is to be woke. You also know how not great it is to not be woke. You also know that there are people who choose darkness.
Not being woke is not the same as sleep. I would like to sleep at night (without abuse). It is best for health, weight-loss, happiness, prosperity, etc if you get the sleep you need each day.
Crushing people is not a good idea. We are born in the light, we learn darkness, we can relearn light.
I don't think you have to crush everyone to do this. I think people will want to be in the light again without going through the pain and suffering.

I really do not think it is good to wipe people out, We have to find a way to help people wake up that is more humane, kind, loving etc.

I think we limit ourselves with specific groups vs "ALL"
    We are all created equal.

  3. Prosperity is our birthright if we are born eternally. Prosperity is for us what it defines. If it defines money, objects, power, ect… then it will become that for us. There's nothing wrong with THINGS, so to speak. It's what they mean to us that shapes our character. If you think the stuff is what it's all about, then that you will be. If it's substance you are after, then you will learn the difference between joy and happiness. Our emotions can take us anywhere. If emotion takes you to a place of just wanting the pleasure in the moment, then that is what you will get. If you have been taught to believe that truth is lived in lies, then that is what you will get. Nothing just happens. We think it into existence. Until you understand they true meaning of this life, you will constantly search for a substitute.

  4. You have to believe in life for yourself and others to have Living wages. Or you can choose living wages and change beliefs to living. It is faster to choose living wages and let beliefs catch up while living.
It is prosperous for all to have living wages.

Not prosperous to need others to earn less than living wages .

Underlying beliefs of living and equality are broken. Change those.
