And the Winner Is

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 26, 2010

Wow, as usual, you guys didn’t disappoint.  The entries to this year’s Night Before Christmas contest were inspired, clever and poignant.  And even better than last year, which is hard to believe.  If you haven’t seen all the submissions, see them here

Unfortunately the esteemed panels of judges has to do the difficult task of picking one winner.  Very difficult…

First up, thanks for everyone that played along.  There was LOTS of great work here.  Honorable mentions go out to Volker, Rena, Rocky and Dani for especially worthy efforts.

The ALMOST final cut came down to six entries:  Jim, Will & Jeanne, Jason, Leanne, Hilary, and KimbraLee.   They were all amazing.  From there I went down to three…

Jim Barber, Will & Jeanne Kidd and Leanne Chesser.

They all were brilliant, incorporated many elements of my work that my readers would know, and followed the pattern I like, which was turning lack into prosperity in the end.

I went over and over these three, then finally printed them out and studied them some more, trying to determine a winner.  To pick one, would mean eliminating two.  And in the end, I just couldn’t do it.

So I’m tripling the prize, and you three are the winners!  You each get $1,000 credit for my learning resources or a live seminar this year.  Contact Linda at Prime Concepts on Monday at +1 (305) 791-6880.

Thanks everybody for playing all out, and having some fun along the journey.  I’m already looking forward to next year!

  1. Awesome choices Randy, you were right in your determination, 3 winners (could go along with the 3 wise men parable stories). Each one showed that we are responsible for getting ourselves out of our victimhood thinking and no one can help us without our permission.

Congrats to all submissions and doubly congrats to the three lucky recipients of Randy's awesome works.

  2. I can't believe I didn't win! And after all the cheap tawdry sex too, (I had to consult books for some of those moves) it is really humiliating.

I was going to have you dress as a clown and visit my son's Kindergarten class, if I won.

I would appreciate a condolance prize. My favorite colors are blue-green, and purple.

In fact, it might be just a nice gesture to give all us losers a condolance prize. How about a you tube video of you singing "Shall We Dance" from the "King and I"?

  3. Bravo! And Congrats to all the winners! They were among my favorites and all clever, witty and thoughtful!

It was great to see so many entries come in. The creativity just abounds around this place! 🙂 I love it!!!

  4. Thanks, Randy!!! You're very generous! (Not to mention handsome, wise, and sexy.)

As the day wore on, I was impressed with the quality of all of the entries, and I was absolutely blown away by the wit, creativity, and insights of several of them. (And I can't begin to describe how impressed I am with the entries by those people for whom English isn't their first language. Wow! I'll repeat... WOW!)

Randy, I certainly don't envy your having to choose between all the submissions. And thank you so much for your generosity in awarding three first places.

Since it's getting close to the New Year, I'll go ahead and wish everyone a most healthy and prosperous 2011! This is YOUR year!

    1. Volker, your poem was specifically one of the entries I was thinking of. Very impressive!

      Quick joke:
What do you call someone who speaks 3 languages? Trilingual.
What do you call someone who speaks 2 languages? Bilingual.
What do you call someone who speaks only one language? An American.

But one of my New Year's resolutions is to become "un-American" and learn a second language this year! Wish me luck!
