2010, Get the Hell Out of Here!

Posted By: Randy GageDecember 30, 2010

Okay kids, it’s that time again.  The time when we take a look back at the important events of the year, and the lessons they provide us.  And since many of you are getting paid at your job this week, with no intentions of actually working, here’s a little diversion to kill the time!

In JANUARY the big story was the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, killing tens of thousands of people.  Preacher Pat Robertson suggested the massive quake was the result of a curse that sprang from a centuries-old deal with Satan.

Of course a few years ago Robertson also said that Orlando would be hit with hurricanes, earthquakes "and possibly a meteor" for allowing Gay groups to display rainbow flags during an event at Disney World.   He later blamed Hurricane Katrina on abortion.

Later in the month, U.S. president Barack Obama gave his first State of the Union address.  He noted that when he took office, the economy was tanking, we were in two wars, and the government was bankrupt.  One year later he was proud to note the economy was tanking, we were in two wars, and the government was bankrupt, but his daughters now had a dog.

FEBRUARY was marked by sporting news.  First up was Super Bowl XLIV.  For those of you outside the United States, this is the big championship football game.   Not real football; but the one played without feet or an actual ball.  It’s an annual tradition requiring eight hours of pre-game analysis and ten hours of post game analysis for one hour of actual activity.   (Interrupted by a halftime show featuring a musical act famous 30 to 40 years ago.)

This year CBS took a stand for morals and decency by refusing to air a commercial promoting a Gay dating site.  This allowed them to sell the time to more socially redeeming advertisers like corn chips, Budweiser, and Go Daddy.

But of course the really big sporting news that month was the Winter Olympics held in the country to the north, “Cold Front.”  Ha ha, just kidding.  The venue is actually called “Canada,” which I believe is a suburb of Seattle.  And I must say, the Canadians seemed a tad defensive when the games did not go off as planned…

They felt the media was nit picking over little details like no snow on the ski runs, melted ice in the skating rinks, the Olympic torch malfunctioning, and an athlete getting killed. However, they finally acknowledged the games were indeed a travesty, when the Canadian hockey team lost to the U.S.

But when their team won the rematch, the games were flawless again.  They also took solace in the fact that they won the most Gold medals.  (If you count the last one they were awarded for Cheesiest Closing Ceremony.  Ever.)

And yes, I will admit to having a "man crush" on snowboarder Shaun White.  Okay, maybe it’s just a crush.

Also in February, Tiger Woods broke his three-month silence and offered an apology for his transgressions.   His press conference was scheduled at the beginning of a golf tournament sponsored by Accenture, the first company to drop him as an endorser.   This was simply a coincidence.

In MARCH the big news in the U.S. was the passage of national health care bill.  At a White House ceremony for the bill’s signing, Vice President Joe Biden introduced the president and was caught on a live microphone saying, “This is a big fucking deal.”  This created an instant YouTube phenomenon, proving once again that the only thing funnier on the Internet than cat videos, are those featuring potty-mouthed elderly people.

In APRIL there were a few more minor things like floods, wars, and plane crashes.  But of course the important news in the world was Tiger Woods’ return to golf.

Meanwhile in Iran, senior cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi stated that women who do not dress modestly increase earthquakes.  Which just goes to show that leaders of fanatical Muslim cults are just as stupid as the leaders of fanatical Christian cults.

And since we’re on the subject of brain-dead, fundamentalists…

We began MAY with the saga of Baptist minister George Rekers, a prominent anti-Gay activist.   Rekers hired an escort from sex site RentBoy.com to accompany him on a European vacation.  Rekers claimed he had no idea the site provided sexual escorts and was renting the boy because he recently had surgery and couldn’t lift luggage.

Kind of curious though, since the home page features pictures of naked escorts with big dicks and video loops with guys rubbing each others' crotches.  But it’s a simple enough mistake to make.

Also that month, Sarah Palin’s exciting new “drill baby, drill” oil exploration program began in the Gulf of Mexico.  This features the new, secure technology that makes it safe to drill close to coastal areas.  At least until it blew up, spilling millions of barrels of crude oil a day to pollute the gulf and coast for months.   Fortunately BP had a fail-safe emergency plan, so no walruses were harmed from the spill.   Buddhist leaders said the spill was caused by Lesbians using strap-on sex toys.

And returning to our topic of putting the mental back in fundamentalists, in MAY, congressman Mark Souder, another professed family values conservative, resigned after it was revealed that he had an affair with a married aid.   Earlier Souder and the aide had made a video promoting abstinence.

The big story of the month was the eruption of a volcano in Iceland, disrupting thousands of flights and leaving millions of people stranded at airports for days.  I mention this now, since customers of United and Delta probably didn’t notice anything unusual.  A Mormon spokesman said the eruption was caused by Scandinavian swingers.

Also in May, Faisal Shahzad hopped on a flight out of New York City, even though he was the prime suspect for planting a car bomb in Times Square.   Which just shows the crack team at the TSA are still protecting us as well as they did last year against the underwear bomber.   They will impound your baby formula, confiscate your nail clippers, and fondle your junk.   But if you’re a wanted terrorist on the no fly list – sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight!

The same week, at least 30 people died in Nashville and thousands of homes were damaged by flash floods.  A Vatican  spokesperson revealed the floods were caused by masturbating faggots.

But of course floods, terrorist bombs and volcanoes couldn’t compare to the top story of the month – the series finale of LOST.

In the final episode, Sayeed entered that diner and did the hit on Tony Soprano.  Ha, ha, I just made that up!    In the real ending, Jack becomes an Amway distributor, Hurley gets drafted by the Yankees, and Locke joins the Jonas Bros.  Ha, ha, I just made that up again!  The real finale was actually much more bizarre…

After five years of subjecting viewers to flashbacks and flash forwards, the last show featured a “sideline.”  This is a technical term in the literary world meaning, “when the writers are too lazy to tie together the loose plot lines.”

So in the final episode, all the main characters gathered for redemption and closure in a place that appears to be heaven’s waiting room.   All of the main characters except Ecko, Michael and Walt that is.  So apparently living on the island is just like living in the projects:  The whites and Koreans make out okay, and the Black people get screwed.

Finally, we survived to JUNE, where Southwest Airlines made the news when a baggage handler discovered a bag containing human heads.  Turns out the shipment was legitimate medical cargo, but hadn’t been labeled properly.  No word yet if Southwest is changing their tagline, as one of my Twitter followers suggested, to “heads fly free.”

But of course the big news in June was the opening of the World Cup.  (For you American readers, this is the football sport that actually uses both a “foot” and a “ball.”  The highlights of these early rounds were, in no particular order:

•    The French team going on strike;
•    Argentine coach Diego Maradona running onto the pitch, tackling the ball and scoring a goal (Ha, ha, I just made that up); and,
•    FIFA showing tremendous goodwill and compassion with their charitable act of hiring referees from the Helen Keller School for the Blind.

The tournament went mostly without incident, until an enraged fan crammed a vuvuzela up the rectum of the person behind him.   Ok I made that up too.  I just wish it had happened.  (If you’re not familiar with the language, vuvuzela is a Swahili word meaning “really God damned irritating air horn.”)

This led us JULY, where the Cup culminated with the final showdown between the Netherlands and Spain.   The match was an instant classic, which people will still be watching decades from now, whenever they suffer from insomnia.

It was 117 minutes of coma-inducing cautiousness by both teams, finally ending in a 1-0 win by Spain in the waning minutes of overtime, on a spectacular kick by Paul the psychic octopus.

In AUGUST, it was very hot and humid in Miami and I got athlete’s foot and jock itch.

In SEPTEMBER, the Republican party showed how they will restore dignity and responsibility to America when Roberk Burck announced he was running for the presidency in 2012.  Burck is best known in NYC as the naked cowboy, because of his many years busking in his briefs for tourists in Times Square.

In OCTOBER, the world mourned the death of Charlie the smoking chimp at the South African zoo.   Charlie started smoking when a visitor tossed in a lit cigarette in his cage that he picked up and mimicked the humans he saw smoking.  For years the zookeepers tried in vain to keep people from feeding his habit.  In the end Charlie puffed to age 52, which is ten years longer than the lifespan of the average chimp.

In NOVEMBER, Leslie Nielsen joined co-pilot Peter Graves in that big airplane in the sky. “Roger, Roger.  What’s our clearance Clarence?  And stop calling me Shirley!”

And finally in DECEMBER holiday air travel ground to a near standstill with the TSA installing body scanning devices in many airports.   People opting out for radiation reasons slowed down the lines to a crawl.  On a brighter note, the new machines did contribute to the reduction of unemployment.  It seems there were many new job openings in the Los Angeles area.  For fluffers.

So it’s no wonder that we’re all eagerly awaiting the New Year and to put 2010 behind us forever!

Actually, all snarky comments and satire aside, 2010 was my best year ever and hopefully yours as well.

Over the year I got to connect with tens of thousands of you in person.   For the first time I conducted events in Brazil, Indonesia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Romania, and Ecuador.  It also was a chance for return engagements in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Russia, Dubai, Korea, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, Spain, the UK, Netherlands, Colombia, Sweden, Australia, and probably a few other places that slip my mind.

There has never been a more exciting time to be alive, and opportunity to create prosperity for you.   One of my favorite projects of 2010 was the launch of my Prosperity TV channel.  It’s filled with lots of videos to help you manifest health, happiness and prosperity.  Please stop by, subscribe, and share it with your friends: http://www.youtube.com/randygage

Thanks for an amazing 2010.  Best wishes for a Happy New Year…and Happy New You!

  1. Wow, that is awesome, thanks for sharing. 2010 was my best financial year of my life after having back to back lean years as a recovering real estate investor. Bring it on 2011!

  2. Wow ... awesome (long) post, brother! Quite a year it was. Looking forward to an excellent 2011 filled with peace and joy ... and your tongue-in-cheek humor/education of course. 🙂

    Best to you,
    Scott

  3. Randy's lit is the best read on da web!

2010 was the crappiest year financially for me personally. Thanks to Randy, Napoleon Hill, Bob Burg, Eric Worre and many others.. Piss on 2010 cause 2011 is on it's way!

  4. I love your sense of humor! Our area had the biggest flood (SECT) in 100 years, but I don't know who to blame it on.....the Gays? The Swingers? or the Gvt for not building roads and bridges that could survive a massive flood every 100 years??? I will say it was greatly appreciated...all the SIGNS in the area from Obama saying "Reconstructing America- your tax $$ at work" (and yet there was nobody actually doing any work....lol.) A tv station relayed the message that the signs cost us $100,000 on top of the cost of rebuilding the roads.

I AM VERY EXCITED for 2011. It's going to be a great year.:)

  5. New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions. - Mark Twain

  6. Thanks Randy. I appreciate your perspective on the events of the past year. As always you you add humor and insight to the topic. Happy New Year and may 2011 be a great year!

  7. I wish all Healthy, Wealthy, Prosperous New 2011 and to Randy Gage thank you to all the inspirations you have given me throughout the whole years.

MAY GOD SHOWER YOU WITH ALL THE BLESSINGS.

  8. Hey Randy I know you live in Miami, but no Lebron??? Just read the Daily Beast and what a surprise Fox New viewers are the most misinformed and read Robert Ringer's tedious blog and thought, "And Robert Ringer was caught giving Glenn Beck a blowjob at his rally while listening to Neil Sedaka!!!

  9. Oh my God!!! Randy, I think you are missing one of your callings. Stand up comedy. Just be sure that Depends are mandatory upon admission. I wet my pants reading this. The visual created in the August reflect, I am deleting from memory. I am very excited about 2011 and all the opportunities available for wealth transfer. I'm not looking forward to the next printing of the valueless dollar bill with a naked George Washington though or gas and milk at $5 a gallon. I'm hopeful that we have all been reminded, throughout the year, in this blog, that thoughts become things. There is more than enough proof to support this. We need only look at where are lives are to confirm this. It's time to reinvent ourselves, if our present occupations are not supporting our desires. Life is ever changing and evolving. I embrace change with full faith and expectation of a fabulous year of abundant prosperity. I'm already there in my mind and emotions and it is already a great ride. Happy New Year.!!!!!

      1. You are right. Should not have even expressed that. I agree whole heartedly. It's all about a choice and how grateful we should all be to have the gift. And you are right, 2011 is going to be an amazing year for me.

  10. HAPPY NEW YEAR RANDY GAGE!2010 was a year a change my life.2011 will be the best.Love you and thanks you for be an instrument of Jesus love.Gracias.Te quiero. FELIZ 2011!

  11. Brilliant Randy! Thanks for being such an inspiration and keeping us all on track over the past year.
Happy New Year y'all - I am really excited about 2011! It's the year of the big leap as far as I am concerned.

  12. Ok...you caught me at work looking for a diversion to pass the time during this virtual non-work work week. I've always enjoyed your to-the-point rants and lessons over the years and look forward to more of the same via your Prosperity TV Channel. May 2011 be our best year ever!!

    Prosperous regards,

    Derek Hawkins

  13. OMG ... I think my 'water' just broke and I'm not even pregnant. GREAT stuff ... and I, for one, am looking forward to a 'Randy Gage' 2011 🙂

  14. Remember in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", when Hagrid said never insult a Hypogriff or that will be the last thing you do? It seems somehow applicable to my situation.

You know Randy I do appriciate you, because I too rant and rave and call 'em as I see 'em.

So, as 2010 ends I will remember the good advice I got from your book. I will also feel a bit sad thinking that much of it you only espouse and don't really practice. Perhaps in 2011?

Your post for the new year was disturbing, disgusting, and in some cases just plain wrong. Seemed an odd way to come out to your readers. Do you think any of them caught that? I don't know Randy you are truly a puzzle.

Here's hoping in 2011 your consciousness catches up with your cognitions.

      1. Annie,

Today my mobile buzzed with the name "Randy Gage" - and as I cried my heart out to him - he listened, loved, smiled, joked, inspired me... and reminded me of my goodness. He shared his thoughts about me, and got me back on track... He NEVER professes to be perfect, but he always strives to be amazing!

Rather than being sad that HE isn't who YOU want him to be - how about you become who YOU want to be - whether that's gay, straight, bi, rich or poor. None of my or his business!

I often say to my coaching clients: "if you are over there trying to figure HIM out, who's home for YOU?" Happy New Year Annie - and I hope just for fun you engage in some wrongful disturbing and disgusting acts to liberate yourself from judgement! SO much love!!!

        Mark,

I think it might even be $450!!!!

        xox

        1. So my point is why doesn't he just say it. His honesty on that subject would be helpful to lots of people. It doesn't do any good to just keep attacking fundamentalists without being more to the point. People die from their hate, if he has a chance to flat out say thing he should do it. Not because he is gay or whatever he is but because, he is right about the devestation that hate causes. He has a chance to make a more powerful statement, at least that's what I think.

However, I don't blame him if he doesn't. He has lots of judgemental folks following him. Gee, maybe because he is. About a whole other set of people he inspires hate against. They are called the less fortunate, or the economically disadvantaged.
Birds of a feather flock together. If he had his head on straight he would have a blog full of followers like me who actually care about all people.

So, once again his hypocrisy is alive and well. I will keep beating this dead horse, because well, it is worth beating.

Randy, this one is for you big guy. I don't know if my intentions are good and bad concerning you. But, I have made a fool of myself and acted stupidly, but really I did want to give you an insight that I thought was important.

I was a jerk, but I hope something good comes of this. You have had me saying all kinds of mean things to you, and you know really I didn't want to. I was only trying to make an impression. I did. It obviously wasn't a great one. At least not to you or your blogger friends.

As for Natalies' comment I think I have already done wrongful, distrurbing and disgusting things, and lucky you right here on your blog.

Thanks for not taking me off you blog. Murali might have a point you know. Anyway, there is an elephant in the room and I won't give him name. Not here, not now, and maybe not ever. I will just have to know myself, and maybe you too.

I will stop picking on you. I'm not really like that in real life anyway. Besides, I've said everyihing I can say and then some. Of course, I may be critical again, but I will be nice about it anyway.

So here's to the New Year, and I hope you do have a good one. I know I will.

I dished it out and took it. How many of you can say that? (that's for your readers) And I did it all for ideas and people I care very much about. (I'm not gonna check this for errors, so you know just figure it out.)

          1. Annie,
I hear your point – and what’s it to do with YOU? What I’d love is for you to go home to YOU.
As he’s someone I dearly love and adore in my life, I have to just challenge/clarify something...
I’ve known Randy for a while. I know few as loving (and in my face) as him. He has amazing integrity – and teaches what he lives. He uses his humour frequently to rub my face in stuff to get me to think about what’s going on.
This blog is about PROSPERITY. I wonder what gives and why you want to call him a hypocrite – his blog is about PROSPERITY, and he LIVES a prosperous life. His honesty about abundance DOES serve a lot of people. He speaks out for things daily – like YOUR and MY right to be prosperous rather than a drama queen/victim/poor. For me, it does a lot of good pocking fun at fundamentalists – it gifts me the chance to laugh, smile and find a better space about them than I did before. I get to giggle at how ridiculous they are rather than it infuriating my day and overwhelming me with their pigheadedness. I get that his style and way doesn’t fit YOUR preference. You have the choice not to read the blog. Tho I don’t feel you have the right to tell him how he SHOULD be, or what he SHOULD be saying. That’s YOUR issue. If you want to fly a flag for a group – go ahead. He flies the flag of prosperity! And does it with glorious shining integrity.
Maybe YOU feel that *YOU* SHOULD speak out for things in a certain way – with power, honesty, in your face shouting... That you can control who listens and who comes to a blog... And maybe you think you’d have your head straight on if you could control everyone to care/think/be like you want them to be. Randy has the view that “we’re human” and that he shares his message for those who want to learn. Maybe it’s not a big one for Randy... maybe it’s big for YOU. Check your judgements/thought –for some aren’t true, eh?
Like this statement you say is false: “I was a jerk, but I hope something good comes of this. You have had me saying all kinds of mean things to you, and you know really I didn’t want to.” If you didn’t REALLY want to – you wouldn’t. But there’s some payoff you get from saying it. So the truth may be more like “I am being a jerk, I’m saying mean things to you, and I want to because it makes me feel righteous, strong, powerful (fill in the blank).... “
You also say: “Anyway, there is an elephant in the room and I won’t give him name. Not here, not now, and maybe not ever. I will just have to know myself, and maybe you too.”
Uhm – I think you shouted loud and clear what YOU see an elephant to be. As I said before – it’s nothing to do with you or me. I think for Randy/me/most of us here it’s a NON ISSUE. Totally not important. You gave it a LOUD name. And said it here... I’m just wondering about that hypocrisy comment and who’s shoe it fits? What’s the payoff for you Annie in being this way? How does it serve your learning and growing dear soul?
Randy lives a life of glorious integrity – his relationship life blows me away with his honour, respect and care. Your judgments may well be projections. You may do well to check your premises, eh?
I personally find MOSTLY that there are people who care DEEPLY who come here. And a few who rage when he triggers them – yet he has such heart and dignity to allow them the time to grow, open, and see anew with grace and dignity.
            Much love
            Natalie
            xX

          2. This is an interesting conversation. Yes! I am glad you have seen and experienced those things. You do know what I am talking about. I am liking you more and more.

Here is the thing though Natalie, you are right about me 100 percent. I always believed to be worthy and loveable I had to help others. Yes, I needed to help myself first. I did leave social work, because I was not really mature enough to handle such difficult work. It only made me as crazy as the people I was helping. Except at times it was very rewarding, yes times I was able to separate myself from my work.

Here is why, I still will try to poke holes in Randy's philosophy and still try to work on myself at the same time. I am an advocate, I believe one of my purposes here on this earth is to be an advocate. I will not stop doing that. I do it to Randy, so he will think more gently about those who need entitlement programs. Why? Because I like him and his message. Anyone with such a great message should get it all straight, not just some of it.

You don't have to be a millionaire either to do some of what you are talking about. There is a young woman from a college in my town that started an orphanage, sorry can't remember where right now, think it might have been Africa. She had no money, only passion. You can change yourself, change the world and never make more that $20, 000 a year. Some people that make such a huge diffference are volunteers who don't make any money. They are not all neurotic, like me. They are just people.

Normal people. Everybody is different. Not everyone wants the same things thank god. Being amillionaire and helping is great too. Just be sure you know what the people you are helping really need. Also, when you do make your millions, think about giving to a project that works on making water safe for infants to drink in third world countries. That is the biggest social problem facing the world today. Thanks again. Enjoy the discussion.

        2. I'm sure Randy is very flattered to have friends like you. It is very nice to stand up for him like that.

My truth is not your truth. I'm actually honest, in your face, and funny too. It often depends on what side of the message your on.

I have passed a judgement on Randy. It isn't about his sexual orientation, and while I sometimes think when it comes to changing the minds of the fundamentalists he would be better off to do it more gently. I don't agree with fundamentalist thought either, but I live on the buckle of the bible belt and some of them are my friends and family. Yes, I have challenged them. Sometimes in your face too. It didn't work out so well, and now I just try to respect where they are. I treat them with respect and now they hear me a lot better.

I was disrespectful to Randy. I know why I was too. That is the elephant in the room. In my position I really don't want to talk about it. I will only leave you with a quote for that one "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much". I try so hard to be cryptic and I just have to keep giving more hints.

I should take my own advice. I do not deny my own hypocrisy. I wish too for Randy to see something my way, so I should have been more sweet to him. It is true, I think you will always catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

So Natalie, I don't agree with all you say, however, I will say it was offensive at times, but you said what you wanted to say. I won't be hypocritical there, because obviously I have done the same thing.

Truth is truth, and I haven't been honest always on this blog. The thing is though I have always been aware of it.

          1. Annie,

I doubt Randy is flattered I'm writing here. I think he'd rather I just go read the Magic of Thinking Big. Or go do some work on my business.

I'm the lucky one to have him a mentor... One of the first things he ever said to me is "I promise I will not lie to you" ~ I adore this in him, and our connection.

I wonder if being aware that you are lying and STILL doing it, makes it okay for you?

I realise you mentioned Games People Play the other day... I wonder if you see the games you play for attention?

Like hinting about things to get people interested in you - like what's the elephant, or why am I Liberterian...

Annie... I've found over the years of of reading this blog that there are some who fight Randy/attack him/challenge him - about NOTHING to do with the blog topic. And it usually comes from people who are NOT prosperous, and not achieving their dreams.... I sometimes think they are angry with themselves and take it out on Randy rather than use that powerful energy to break through the stuff that holds them back.

It may not be true for you - but it is for me!

Wishing you an honest, authentic, prosperous, effective, aligned year of Integrity!

            Joy to you!

          2. Oh Natalie you are being so mean. Just stop. I get it I get it. Good lord, Randy can take some heat, I son't imagine he is truly suffering somewhere. Do you think? He is a mentor to all of us, wether we know him or not. I have agreed with much of his message, if you read earlier, I even said it helped me.

I can take some heat it stings, but hey you know, there you have it. I shouldn't spend so much time on this blog either, I probably would be more prosperous if I didn't. Although it is a good writing excercise and I do enjoy debate. Not this one though it is getting way to personal, I am guilty of that myself. But, let's stop okay?

I am jealous you know him. I would like to know him too. I would love to have a real conversation with him. I don't know now though, I am sure we need some kind of mediator present.

As for lying and feeling good about it. Nope, never said that. Might even be worse than not knowing, I am not sure about that. I will ask some of those fundamentalists I know. I am sure they will tell me. And yes I do enjoy attention, especially from Randy. I have a theatre degree and yes I also like big stars with my name on them(so the diva part is true too). I love it!! No shame, just one diva that loves, loves attention. (I sing too) My college drama instructor knew this about me and when I was in a show she would put my name on the bathroom door in a big gold star. Great, great stuff. Me a drama queen, yep you called it.

About Randy's not lying. To be honest, I never trust anyone who says they won't lie to me. Mostly, I find that to be a lot of BS. Most people lie from time to time, and the honest ones will tell you this.

I am not really sure if you actually love me and wish me joy. If you do. Hey, Thanks. In all honesty, though,(and you will just have to decide if I am tellling you the truth here) I am not sure I love you yet. I will honestly wish you joy too though.

So, not with love, not yet. But with respect,
            Annie

          3. Annie,

I have found that jealousy pushes away that which you want to have. Honey may be more effective?

I simply fed your words back to you to offer a mirror of what you've been doing for a while over the last few days now on this blog. How does it feel? Is the game working? You getting what you want? But what is it that you really NEED Annie? Cos sometimes what we WANT doesn’t serve what we NEED.

He has said he won’t respond to your attention seeking, but will discuss relevant thought/challenges. Rather than changing your style to discuss Prosperity your attacks have just escalated. Hmmm....

If you find what I’ve said mean, it may simply be that you’re finally seeing a reflection of who you’ve been on the blog. I don’t know. I didn’t feel mean – I felt like a mama bear. Strong and caring for someone I adore. Sometimes mirrors do burn, eh? I hope you are gentle and kind to you, and give YOURSELF the attention, love and trust you are worthy and deserving of.

Maybe the answer is spending less time FIGHTING him and trying to be a drama queen to get attention, and more time LEARNING from him and taking action to achieve what you need? If you reached for the stars and sparkled, I’m sure he’d come to congratulate you on your golden glow! I bet when you have no need for the teacher putting stars out for you – you could shine from within and allow yourself to beam light to your Greatness. Katie Perry’s Firework song may just be what the drama teacher wished for you... 

I DO wish you a wonderful New Year with love and joy - opening in trust, unconditional love, ears that are willing to listen and learn, opening to being honest... and integrity...

          4. Okay, so Natalie you have made a good point. It doesn't feel good to be judged or attacked personally. I did reflect on that, because of your comments. And for just a moment, I felt bad that I had done that to Randy, and still do a little.

However, juge not unless you wished to be judged. I don't know something like that. So, I stepped out and Judged Randy. Did I do it well? No, not really, for that I am sorry. Also, because I judged Randy, I was judged. Your judgement of me was fair. I even told Randy, all those things he said were true. Sometimes, we have to judge. Using judgement is a part of critical thinking.

I read Randy's book, that should say something about me right there. So, of course if someone is reading self-help books, they are looking for self-improvement. I think your comments are mean, because of course that's true, why else would I be here? I also really liked his book, again, why else would I be here? It did help me, at least part of it. I thought it was just nice to find a self-help book written by someone who wasn't a mental health specialist. They sometimes get clinical and preachy and make you feel worse. Randy's book didn't.

However, Natalie, as I started to read the section of his book on ways to become wealthy and what politics one should follow to be this way, I started to feel, I don't know twitchy. Not, at first though, because this guy had me hooked, I started to question my beliefs. I questioned, I thought about it, I read about his theories, and I started to read his blogs. And much to my dismay, I felt something is rotten in the state of Denmark, if you catch my drift.

I found Randy, to be not so positive in his rantings, and his philosophies as I started to question them seemed strangely incongruent. How does everyone in the world achieve infinite prospertity? I s there infinite prosperity? Is everyone equal enough in talent and abilities to do the things Randy has done? Is being poor really a sin? Most disturbing is that if you follow his argument as a logical sylogism, you come up with this: People who are economically poor are sinners who just allow themselves to live without abundance because they are lazy and entitled and furthermore anyone economically poor hasn't anything to offer of value until they are prosperous enough to feel their self-worth.

It sounds good? Right? Yes. Because, some of it is true. But, there is a huge fallacy in his thinking. First off he has based this theory mainly through his own experience and perspective. He is a very intelligent white male, who cleary had some clever and kind mentors. I wonder how much thinking Randy does about the truly severly mentally ill and the developmentally and physically disabled populations. Not to mention people with inferior intelligence and talent. I wonder if he truly believes that all poor people are just lazy codependents liveng off the goodness of others. Some people will never be able to do the things Randy does, some people will not want to. Are they not prosperous?

Even suggesting a political stance in a self help book seems all kinds of wrong to me. You are influencing people who are looking to you as a mentor and healer. He is calling himself an authority figure and many people follow such teachings without question. As a student of social work and psychology I know this to be wrong. He is persuading people looking to him for advice on spiritual and psychological issues and tying it to a political agenda. If he had a licsence to practice therapy it would probably be revoked for such an infraction of professionalism.

I have been a social worker Natalie. I have seen lots. The truth is that poverty is a very complex social problem, and calling being poor a sin will never make it easier for those who are truly improvished. It will only make becoming prosperous harder for them. My opinion.

The thing is I am not even sure Randy buys the things he is saying. Furthermore, he doesn't want to really engage me. Unlike you and I am not sure he is ready to deal with such harsh judgements. Still you are right it would have been better to be nicer about it. I have a truly bad temper at times, and he pushed my buttons. Most assuredly without realizing it.

I really just wanted him to hear what I had to say. Instead he treated me with patronizing comments. He talked to me from his parent place(transactional analysis, Eric Bernes), and I responded with my naughty child. Some games are hard to stop playing. Everyone plays games though, it is partly how we as humans communicate, it is just some games are effective and some are not. Ours, clearly was not.

I don't know what he can teach me now or if he can. I don't know if he will ever hear me now, my fault too. I really like him too or I actually wouldn't be taking this time. I just want Randy to have a congruent message. Maybe he never will, and I will just have to take the good things he has to offer and let go of the rest.

I don't want to fight with you or him anymore. I'm sure I do not want to be treated like I am some unprosperous mess. I don't wish to be told again that this well meaning but truly flawed man is the answer to my problems. Nor do I wish to be told by anyone that they wish me more prosperity in my future, because right now, right here I have all I need. I am sure that Randy doesn't want to hear me anymore either, so I will shut up. I may still comment but I won't go off topic or be disrespectful. I will probably still challenng him though.

I think you are standing up for Randy, just as I am standing up for people, I know don't always have a voice, and myself too.

It is difficult for some of you who follow Randy or love Randy or whatever to hear what I am saying. I understand that. No one wants to

          5. I hear what you're saying. And if you're happy with your level of prosperity then I don't understand why you come here. This place is for those who want to put their own star on the door to their dreams. Who want to believe in themselves and strive for the greatest they can be.

If you're happy - I'm thrilled for you. But your tone, aggression, frustration suggest otherwise - a yearning for more, a wish to achieve your best, and a frustration that you aren't living all you want to.

Maybe rather than face THAT - you attack him and his philosophy. His views are working for him. Are yours working for you? DO you love and like who you are and what you have? Does it get you out of bed delighted and excited?

I just wanted to say two more things

            1. YOU are the answer to your unprosperous mess. No one else. Randy can teach - but you and you alone are the only one who can change it. IF you want to. If you don't - that's perfect too. No need to attack him for not sharing your poverty, average, acceptance of a comfortable life.

            2. If you read enough of Randy's stuff you'd see that he shares a lot that prosperity is NOT just about money. It's about an ATTITUDE of openness, warmth, generosity, appreciation, being in the moment, living your highest truth, relishing in God's gifts of life. You'd ALSO see that he's EXTREMELY generous and gives over a hundred thousand a year to various charities and churches. So those those less fortunate and in need get a hand up. He's reknowned for being thoughtful, caring and accepting of those going through challenges. AND he challenges those you are being victims when they actually could be living their dreams, but choose to blame him/life/others for their failures.

I think you're not quite getting Randy - he's speaking a voice for YOU - for YOU to open to your greatness. To not be petty, vindictive and small. He's speaking to the best in ALL of us.

He believes in everyone's ability - and for those who can't take care of themselves, he believes in the worlds goodness to lend a hand. Because he's prosperous!

          6. I think we are just having a misunderstanding. Sure, I am looking to find some more prosperity. I believe that at every moment we are always enough and full of everything we need. Right? Maybe Randy thinks so too, is just saying it in a different way.

My anger and frustration come from just this, trying to be understood. Maybe, there is not so much difference in what Randy and I believe. Maybe it is just different how we think about the path to getting there. This is the point where I am no longer talking about psychological/spiritual healing. I agree with what he says about those things, almost all of it. He also says it in a way that it is better than anything I have ever heard. Here is my frustration: You cannot believe that goodness of the world is going to solve these major social problems. It isn't going to happen that way. There is too much hate, intolerance, apathy, and oppression. These things will not go away just by saying stop being a victim. It is far more complicated than that. I know Randy cares about people and does philanthropic deeds. Lots of well meaning people give money and time and helps but doesn't really solve anything.

The people Randy calls crazy, the ones who dedicate their lives to helping others are often the ones making the difference, along with the people they serve. Victims as Randy likes to call them, have many complex complicated problems that take time perservance, faith, and money to solve. Taxpayers money. It also takes victims working along with these helpers (social workers, teachers, community workers, etc.) to make it better. People living in poverty need grass roots leaders (selfless souls who believe in their cause, and feel prosperous by seeing others prosper), and the grass roots leaders need to be payed, yeah taxpayers money. After lots of hard work and money, those who feel victimized and truly are in many cases, will be able to take charge of their communities and take charge of their lives. Yes, by taking responsibililty and taking charge of their communities, voting etc., having a real steak in their own accomplishments. But, this takes time, love, adn people, and yes most of those people are going to have to be paid government people.

Is Randy interested in being a grass roots leader? Teaching people how to take care of themselves on a hands on basis? He could, he would be great. He would also not make much money, he would only gain love, appreciation, respect, and deep fulfillment that comes from serving others.

I have to say, maybe I misunderstand Randy, but what I hear him saying is essentially it doesn't even make sense to have social workers and people that spend other people that spend their lives serving others.

Natalie, I use to work at a community mental health center as a crisis case management worker. I helped people who were having mental health problems find housing and other government entitlement programs, like medicaid, foodstamps, tanf, etc. These people were heroes, in my opinion because they truly were trying to change their situation, and they needed those programs so much. And there wasn't even enough money in those programs to help everyone.

Do you know what it is like to go to bed at night knowing that a family, a family with young children are going hungry and without housing and your the person who is suppose to help them, but you can't because sorry, there just isn't enough resources out their to help them. And they work, yes these people work, and they work hard, they do the jobs Natalie, that you and I would never dream of wanting to do. So, yeah, I'm pissed, I'm angry, and I am frustrated by anyone that suggests these folks are just a bunch of couch potatoes who take responsibility for themselves and they just leach of all the rest of us. Yeah, I am frustrated, and no matter how prosperous I get these will always frustrate me.

You know what else frustrates me? I have a friend who was a social worker who was murdered by one of her schizophrenic clients. Why? Lots of reasons. Some of them being more funding is needed in mental health care to make ensure the safety of it's workers. You know what it will take. Yep, taxpayer money. Was my friend crazy for making a meager living and risking her lives to help others, well I choose to believe she is a hero.

And I will never. Repeat never get off my righteous hhigh horse about helping others, and as you now know, I have my very special reasons.

          7. PS Sorry for all the typos and stuff, I am trying to type fast, and well that's what happens when I try to type fast. Also, thank you for the conversation, it is just nice to get to say all these things.

I also loved the idea that my drama teacher wanted the Katy Perry song for me. Thanks for that. I bet you are so right!:)

          8. Annie,

I've been the counsellor who had to get support in so I wouldnt be raped. I've been the one who took in suicidal teen otherwise he'd be institutionalised and kill himself. I've been the one taking into my home violent emotion depraved boys and autistic kids that no one else wanted. I've been the counsellor working with the kids who would be sent to prison next for drug selling at 12.

AND - it all came out of a victim mentality. That within ME there was a need to heal myself, and if only I could spend enough time and change enough lives then I would be great.

Yes I was a hero to many lives I changed. But I was in poverty - I was struggling because they paid me so little because I would have done it for nothing - I was so devoted to my 90 clients I was a week for group, individual and family therapy.

I recall my psychology elcturer saying to me "you have such drive and urgency to help, but ask yourself the question "Who is it you are really trying to help?"

It's taken working with Randy to see that my desire to help in this way has come out of the trauma I experienced as a child and feeling a victim in MYSELF.

As I let go of MY past - I become more devoted to transforming ME.

What Randy teaches is this: FIRST transform YOURSELF, and THEN you can give from flourishing and overflow.

I believe that when I earn over a million a year I can give away half of that at least into project that call my heart. But MOST projects fail from being underfunded. So I want to be abundantly rich, and then free to give both my TIME and MONEY and SKILLS and LOVE to those in need. Until then I have to focused on ME.

And healing this desperation to fix/change/heal - knowing that it's because there's a part in ME that's calling me to change ME.

What is upsetting us on the outside is only a reflection or mirror of the upset within us. When we deal with the upset within us we can think clearly and lovingly about how to change the issues outside of us.

Once I am a millionaire I'll have the resources to set up, and pay for an orphange for kids who have lost their parents, or rehome kids taken away for prostitution, or schools to educate those in Africa... But from little resources there's little I can do.

When I raise myself up I can inspire others to do the same. As Randy says "the best thing you can do for the poor is not be one of them"

Likewise the best thing you can be for the mentally ill, the victims, the people who are raving mad and not doing something proactive about it and just talking about it... is not be one of them!

Staying stuck in pocking holes in Randy's philosophy won't get you riches - it will only keep you stuck in "poor me he doesn't listen" or frustrated as a drama queen trying to up the anit. It won't work with Randy.

What does work with him is changing your life, and becoming the best you can be. You could be a socialist bisexual repulican - if there could be one - and he still wouldn't care. All he wants is for those who can, who are willing, who are able to get off their lazy butts... and out of their limiting minds... and into their flow of flourishing. Fun!

Whatever your philosophy is about it, it doesn't really matter. What's essential is that you develop the belief that you can change and become who you want to be, that you get yourself into a system that will help you break through with the right tools and education, that you have friends who inspire you to be amazing, and you take the right action to attain your dreams.

          9. Natalie, this is getting confusing. I replied to your last message, but under the wrong comment. So the reply is actually above the last comment you wrote. Anyways, we may have to respectfully disagree on some points. But, I have enjoyed the intercourse immensely. So, thank you so much for that! I have done lots of thinking lately. Very helpful.

            Annie

PS I hope thi lands in the right place!

    1. Annie, The last couple of posts I have looked through all the replies just to see if you have posted on it ( pretty sad that :>) ) and this proves my theory that you are indeed part of Randy gage`s staff, posting replies just to keep the momentum of replies going :>) Happy New Year

          1. Thanks Murali. I am obsessed, compulsed, and repulsed by this conversation (my comments included). So, as I said once before on this post "What we ought to do now is freak the freak out." Happy New Year. I have to go check on some hatching sea monkeys now.

  15. Happy New year to Randy Gage and all the blog readers! On top of what Randy already said, remember, bed bugs are they way to bite you 🙂

  16. RG,

that was comedy to the bone!!!!! Comedy central should be calling you soon.

Thanks for inspiring me through out 2010 and reminding me that my thinking creates my reality. Cheers Randy...Happy New Year!!

  17. Hey rocksta, I laughed throughout the entire post!

You forgot to mention that you caused the riots in Bangkok in May btw.

YOU rocked 2010 for me and many of us here in SEA. Thank you for being DA BOMB!!! xoxo

PS: I'm truly sorry about the earthquakes. Bought more pant suits as you suggested. 😉

  18. Randy Thanks for the 2010 summary! Very good one! For you and for all the people in this blog: Feliz y Prospero 2011! Happy New year! Waitng to share 2011 with all these nice people. Regards Gabriel 🙂

  19. Randy, you are ridiculously humorous!!!
Can I book you for a comedy act here in NYC.
I'll take a percentage as your agent (Haha, just kidding...)

Thank you for your dedication in providing us with exceptional advice, practical tools, humor, and kindness.

May everyone have a more empowering year,
    Leslie

  20. Thanks for helping 2010 one of my best years ever, and 2011 is set up and has the makings of an even better one. To your success and a happy new year to all.

    Steve.

PS: If you're speaking in Aussie this year I'd love to make the trip across from NZ to hear you in person.

  21. After a disastrous (financially) 2009 and a slightly better 2010 when I levelled off, my mantra for the new year is, Thank Heaven it's twenty eleven. Think it may even rhyme.
Happy new year to one and all. LIve long and prosper.

    Jean

  22. Ah, we're still working, but on a higher level!

    Go Robertson! LOL!

Gay is of course OK. On a higher level we are all androgynous.

I thought the unelected Obama had enough dogs in the White House, or maybe they're still in Kenya.

Big sports events are really staged rituals, as was the Haiti quake and the BP oil spill. Time to wake up!

Now we know why Canada is not a leading nation.

The health care bill is only a bill if you spend your money in the wrong place.

The Iceland volcano was probably rigged to go off by visitors now in the Kuipers Belt. Luckily, they don't fly United or Delta.

I think the Mormon spokesperson was wrong, but programming icon Tiger Woods must have been interested.

Google this: "Los Alamos Scientists: TSA Scanners Shred Human DNA."

The Vatican should know about the masturbating faggots.

As with so many things, LOST is to a large extent inspired by the heinous Montauk Project. Read the books about it.

Highly programmed people should get group discounts on airlines anyway. There are a lot of programmed personalities in a lot of people's heads, not least on Southwest Airlines. And by the way, airplanes symbolize going from one program to another. Think about that the next time you travel or have a programming dream on an airplane.

And it's not enough to know you're programmed.

You have to deprogram, which is not the same as doing affirmations. You really think they made it that easy?

But, yes, changing your mind pattern, or thought bands, will help, but also requires deep knowledge about yourself and your "past".

All opportunities and possibilities are now opening like never before.

    Choose wisely.

  23. OMG- LMAO!!

Referees from the Helen Keller School for the Blind!

Fluffers! [I think that there are some openings for some in the LA's San Fernando Valley]

Glad that you're bringing some sane-talk to the world. Keep on wearing your Superman cape and saving my world and sanity, one blog post at a time, Randy.

  24. Superb round up of 2010 however I must protest. You went wayyyyy tooooo easy on the ref's of the World Cup and failed to mention the fact that although Cricket has heat sensors to determine whether the ball touched the wicket...FIFA refuses to have instant reply which would prove the ref's are indeed hired from Helen's famous school for the blind.

    Cheers Randy!

Love to see you in England...that is, if you can get here:)

Looking forward to a wowfabgroovy 2011!

  25. Hilarious!!!

You spent a lot of time on this one. 🙂

    "One of your Twitter Followers?"

I guess that's what I get for being so scarce this year...

    *SIGH*

    J/K - glad you liked it!!! 🙂

    -DF

  26. Snarky is a language I speak fluently. Loved it!

2010 was a huge improvement over 2009. 2011 will be better then 2010. I am looking forward to what this year will bring! 🙂 Let's get it started!

Oh, and for all the things that happened in 2010, I see my Vikings didn't make the list. So they haven't been that bad! 🙂

    Ready to celebrate in 2011!

  27. I lost ya on that one??? oh well.. I thought we did a great job on the Olympics... we had a ball, beat the Yanks in the final, that's all we care about, ha ha!!not to be too jingoistic.. unlike some country I know... how many times have I seen some Yank moron tell us they're the best country in the world and they've never been outside their city...
I was making fun of Robert Ringer and his hero Glenn Beck.. and that evil, communist, racist guy in the White House etc... read RR's blog and you'll see what I mean...

  28. Randy, thanks for the barrel of laughs and for being you. 2010 was a good year for me - definitely uphill and I've laid the groundwork for an even better 2011. I'm looking forward to it. Happy New Year to you!

  29. ....One year later he was proud to note the economy was tanking, we were in two wars, and the government was bankrupt, but his daughters now had a dog....

Thanks for making me laugh, Randy.

  30. a few more minor things like floods, wars, and plane crashes.

Kind of curious though, since the home page features pictures of naked escorts with big dicks and video loops with guys rubbing each others’ crotches. But it’s a simple enough mistake to make.

But if you’re a wanted terrorist on the no fly list – sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight!

    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  31. The energy has already shifted.

That is how powerful it is.

The new paradigm is giving birth to humankind.

    The NEW version.

    Breaking through the oppression.

That is why Earth is attracting so much attention
    from all points in creation.

    No need to be afraid.

This is the ride for which we have tickets.

We wanted to be here now.

    We paid dearly for it.

It is never going to happen again.

    This is your time.

    Make everything out of it.

When the ball drops on New Year's Eve, the ride will have left the gate.

    Fastening my seat belt.

We can do everything we want.

  32. Hey Randy-
    That was classic!!
You left me to wonder which natural disaster will be blamed on your "man crush" however, and by whom?

I am grateful everyday that you are one of my "five" and for the many years that has been true.

Happy New Year to you and all your readers.
    Love,
    Jeanne
PS. I for one am very ready for 2011!!
