In honor of Risky Is the New Safe launching this week, we’re doing a series of posts on some of the multi-million- and multi-billion-dollar ideas either that we explore in the book, or will become apparent as you do some critical thinking and extrapolate forward from other projections in the book.
So welcome to…Who Wants to Be a Billionaire! Part Two…
As we do the series each day, feel free to answer the questions posed with your ideas on the answers. Or keep your answers secret as you plot to how you will quickly bring something to market and become the next most-talked-about episode on Shark Tank!
Also, let me know when you think we’re asking the wrong questions, and suggest any other questions you believe will lead people to new and other multi-million- and multi-billion-dollar ideas!
So having said all that, here are some questions to ponder today….
Social media blows up branding forever. It has dramatically changed the way customers find you, vet you, and buy from you and it eliminates the need for many middlemen (and therefore – the need for those jobs). Billions of people doing social media posts about your product or service makes controlling a brand or image dramatically more problematic. What challenges will that create, and what million- or billion-dollar opportunities will it present?
Retail is dying. The business model for retail hasn’t really changed at all in at least a couple hundred years. In fact, we could really argue it got more cumbersome, as layers of rack jobbers, wholesalers, warehouses and other parasites got involved in the process. What challenges will that create, and what million- or billion-dollar opportunities will it present?
Mobile changes everything! If you were to force most people to chose between giving up their favorite websites versus their favorite apps – most people would lose the websites. Mobile apps are hastening the irrelevance of traditional websites. What challenges will that create, and what million- or billion-dollar opportunities will it present?
Please share your thoughts and let the masterminding and brainstorming begin!
