Everything that happens, happen for a reason! When I looked back to all upsets from the past, and started to join the dots, it all make sense.

God has a sense of humor. If you don’t believe me, you’ve never hired a contractor to remodel your home. Never made a business plan. Or never had your life all figured out.
Because once you make your plans, life has a way of altering them. And the universe reveals answers at its own pace.
A while back, Garth Brooks had a great song titled, “Unanswered Prayers.” It’s a typical country ditty, but offers an insightful lesson.
If all my prayers had been answered, my restaurant would have been saved, and I’d still be slaving away 18 hours a day in a dead-end job.
If all my prayers had been answered, I’d have never got on a plane, changed jobs, or met some of the most amazing people in the world.
If all my prayers had been answered, I’d have been worth $100 million by the time I was 20, and probably been dead by 21.
Yes it’s important to dream, set goals, and make plans. But then be open to the messages the universe sends you to correct course. Always affirm, “this or something better.” And you’ll always end up with the better!
P.S. I’m back in Riga, Latvia where I did an event tonight. Standing room only, with people spilling into the hallway. Amazing things are going to happen in this part of the world. Next stop is Moscow. I’ll check in from there.
I felt it was important to share this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlZqaXd0uRg America is one of the wealthiest countries on Earth, and poverty is unacceptable. It's an episode of the BBC Panorama series on the poor in America. It's only going to get worse since so many on both sides of the fence believe in entitlement for special groups, and no one wants to let people with passion, heart, and dedication to their dreams solve anything- so much effort is being put into supporting a status quo which doesn't work. Less wealth is created because either it is too difficult to build an enterprise due to organizations infringing upon individual rights, or successful individuals are punished for their success and often outright labelled as evil/shallow. Poverty is only possible because of apathy on all sides. My generation is considered the first which will make less than our parents. While many of you Boomers are kind people who want to see those who come after you thrive, a great deal of your generation has cultivated a self-centered "Me" oriented mindset, where you can do whatever you wish without consequence, even if it harms others. I myself, in good conscience cannot leave behind a world of "me me me me me", in which people are taught to sacrifice their lives to others. Increasingly, due to this "Me" oriented mindset, one must be born into the "right" family , have the "right" career, or attend the "right" schools. Such a mindset is a mindset of evil and seeks to enforce old British class definitions, rather than enabling the true creative, entrepreneurial mindset which made America one of the best countries on the planet. We cannot wait for your generation to vacate the governments and boardrooms of the world. You must understand that we need a world of "you" and "I": where people pursue what they value without infringing upon the rights of others. The sense of entitlement and self-centered attitude has to end- otherwise many young people will live subpar lives of poverty and unhappiness. Is that what you want your legacy to be? One of poverty and a world where people cannot build something? A world where truly only a tiny percent owns it all? New wealth = new growth New growth = a better future for all Why does your generation hoard the future and expect mine to sacrifice our lives to you?
I like using this approach to live when it comes to unanswered prayers. When I was a kid I would get upset if I didn't get what I want, when I don't get what I want now I know that there is a higher purpose for me.
is there any "typical" example from your life....i.e. when life altered your plan "x"?
And when the universe came up with an answer "y" months or years later?
I have trouble understanding the universe ´cuz I often figure out/think that some people try to take away my pen with which I am writing my life story to change my direction so I don´t think THIS IS a universal touch....
You're absolutely right, RG! I think about this often. Case and point - I used to be a flight attendant for Airtran, but when I got laid off, a series of events were set off, to land me exactly where I am today. I would even apply with Delta Airlines, get all the way through three extensive interviews, and not get the position. I was sure I was going to land it. I had the experience, the devilish good looks, and professionalism that I know is impossible not to notice. :D (OK, perhaps I'm painting it on too thick here) But, my point is this - had I gotten that position, I would not have written my first eBook, have the time and opportunity to work on my first novel, or experience the incredible changes that's taken place in my life. What we often mistake as the Universe working against us, more often than not, is the Universe delivering us a blessing in disguise. I've learned over the last 3 years to put my trust in the process that life has for me. In doing so, my life continues to unfold and surprise the heck out of me. I've learned to expect the best, even when the best seems to be the least likeliest thing to happen. :) Thanks for the inspiration and confirmation, mate! Glad to hear things are going exceptionally well on your end. Blessings.
Thank you Sir for this great reminder! Sometimes we get too caught up in specific plans and how things should be and play out, and it sure narrows our perspective. Thinking like you so delicately stated above every once in a while makes us break away from the static. Very cool and it's an amazing reminder of something that most of us probably tend to forget. I know I sure have :) Onwards!
It's this or something better ... that's where I am right now in my life! Too many business related deals have changed direction. Yet better ones are coming to me now.
Safe travels, Randy.
Thank God that he sees a better plan than we do. I recall praying SO HARD for an outcome, that mercifully did not happen...thank the Lord! This was well written Randy...thank you
This or something AMAZING!! This or something REMARKABLE! This or something EPIC!
How true! People think and expect their prayers to be answered but you always have to remember - when one door closes another one is open. Always seek for the open door.
