The Power of Manifesting…
Send to Kindleby Randy Gage
As you guys know, I have a new book coming out. I thought I knew why I wrote it. But after a conversation I had with my close friend Joshua Shafran, I realized why I REALLY wrote it…
I believe an amazing woman I recently met, was really the catalyst for why I wrote the book – even though we had never met before I wrote it! I believe she manifested it.
You may think it’s crazy or woo-woo, but I really believe that. Here’s the story behind the story…
I went out to Silicon Valley in California to mastermind with some bright people in Brendon Burchard ’s posse. One of the people I met was an author and remarkable lady named JJ Virgin. (You may know her from the Dr. Phil show, Finicky Eaters or her other television appearances.) I’d never seen her shows, but we had an immediate connection and asked each other for galley proofs of the other’s upcoming new book.
I loved hers and will definitely be telling you about it when it becomes available. She got mine and it has a deep effect on her. She emailed me to ask if it was alright to share with her teenage son Grant. He was facing some school and college issues in his future, much along the lines I discuss in one chapter. Of course I was honored and agreed to this.
Then the unthinkable happened…
Grant was walking along the road when he was struck by a car traveling at 40 mph. The woman driving stopped, took one look at how bad he was mangled and fled the scene, leaving Grant for dead. Which, by all accounts, he should have been. The doctors gave him a 1.5 percent chance of surviving and recommended a certain course of treatment.
Take a look at what JJ wrote in a letter to her tribe:

As I reread the title of my new pal Randy Gage’s latest book, Risky is the New Safe, I couldn’t help but think:
Wow, if I had “played it safe” and “followed the rules”, my son would have died Sept 11th at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
Instead, we took a risk and went against the doctors’ opinions there and flew our son out to Harbor UCLA trauma center where they saved his life.
Ironically, I had just—literally just—finished reviewing my preview copy of the book. I had met Randy the past week at a very small mastermind event led by Brendon Burchard. I thought he was uber cool the moment I met him, but little did I know then what a major impact he would have on my life.
At the mastermind, he had talked about his upcoming book and I said, “I want to read that!” So he had a copy overnighted to the hotel where I was staying and I read it on the flight home. In a bizarre twist, I remember thinking to myself “My son Grant needs to read this.”
The book is really about thinking differently. Randy says that if you fail to think in a new way—if you follow the party line, so to speak—you will be left behind.
This resonates with me because I have always been a rebel in my industry. (For example, I am sure I will be attacked big time for my upcoming book The Virgin Diet for going against the grain, but I will help millions while I do).
Randy’s message is that it’s not only okay to go against the grain, it’s necessary. He ultimately encourages you to discover the personal path that you are meant to walk.
So I am sharing Randy and his book with you. Over the past few weeks, Randy has shown me he is the real deal. I spent only one afternoon in group with him and this man has been staying in touch, offering resources to help my son, and even offered to fly Grant out to Miami when he’s stable to see one of Randy’s amazing docs.
Our world will be a better place if everyone reads this book. Grab your copy today and share it with someone you love.
Blessings,
- JJ

Here’s what she shared with me in a follow up email: “Honestly, thinking the same can KILL YOU and btw, I am seeing it daily at the hospital nowhere is this worse than politics and medicine.” Obviously there are a lot of lessons here on being a critical thinker, and questioning authority, but the really fascinating thing to me is how all this came about.
Because obviously, the real reason I wrote the book was for JJ and Grant – even though I hadn’t met them yet!
You may think that’s crazy, but I’m crazy enough to believe it! So maybe the real lesson is how we manifest things. I’ll have to see what my friend Joe Vitale thinks about this.
Anyway, that’s the lesson, but here’s your homework. Send some love and support to JJ and Grant. Grant is out of ICU now and semi conscious, but not able to speak yet. But his brother Bryce told him if he could understand him, to touch his shoulder. That’s the pic you see here! Drop by her Facebook page here. And please send them thoughts of hope, healing, and highest good
