The Empire Avenue Manifesto
by Randy Gage
Color it however you want. EA is still a game. It is another way that people are trying to rank companies and people to determine their value. Call it Klout. Call it EA. People are desperately trying to come with ways to measure their influence. EA is just another game to do that.
People should stop spending so much time playing games and use that time to improve their own company or help create solutions to help other. At the end of the day the only person who is going to care about your Empire Avenue score is other EA users.
patrickallmond patrick - to me it´s pure training and a "keep going" which is comparable to a new programming. it´s a fun way and doesn´t hurt but rather motivates to start a business and get into the real game.
Yes, I am a woman and mother nature did not install a rational program in my brain. :))
Leeloo I'd never question your female. And there are plenty of people on both sides of the chromosome that are not rational.
Keep up the good blog :)
patrickallmond you mean, being rational as a man isn´t a natural thing/gift for all men? well, that explains a lot.....that´s new to me. thanks for the "secret" ;)
interesting, so there are only a few elopers ... THANKS. That´s really interesting!
...and YES I will.
Wow: you really took time to set up this article, thanks for the great info!!
I understand EAve the same: learning how to grow into prosperity. And how to do deal with money - its not really what women learned during their childhood ;)
I myself have trouble "understanding" abstracts when not having a picture of what happens to numbers e.g. how they´re connected and how they feed each other to be push "up" from one another - so I will have to sit down again over this article and draw your hidden messages until it´s visually clear to me -
Damn good job!!!!
thx. ******
Great review of Empire Avenue, Randy.
Love the way you started the post, LOL.
I have found that I have been able to save for the pie upgrades to buy up 600 now, so you don't even need real cash for that.
Thank you for sharing this!
I pretty much agree with the whole story; I gave up on Mafia Wars, The Fish Tank, and ALL of The Games... Sticking with Empire Avenue for the long term!
Best and "most funnest" description and inspirational piece I've read so far on EA.
Thanks, Randy. May the Schwartz be with you.
Cheers,
Rich at EARTHPM. Looking forward to your guilted buyback....
Hi Randy
Thanks for v helpful post. Why does EA reward peeps with cashflow for buying luxury items? If it's teaching us real investing surely that's not helpful?
True. But also true in real life, sometimes you reward yourself with something because it's the prosperous thing to do.

I have to ask where you discovered the 3 Cs? I first used the phrase in a speaking tour back in 1998 and I'm delighted to see it someone making use of it today.
Great article! Empire Avenue is such a powerful social media tool. I was surprised to learn it'd been around for many months. More people need to jump on the bandwagon!
I like using it more to build contacts and keep track of peers in my niche, but yours looks like rock solid advice for maximizing ROI!
Empire Avenue has been amazing for me, I have met some really wonderful people and learned so much from them. I absolutely agree with everything you stated in this post. As soon as I get some eaves, I am most certainly going to be investing in (e)rgage! :D
Ive been on about a month. The problem with this model is that it gets boring. It's kind of up there with Foursquare for me but it's more time-consuming. What are the rewards? Fake status symbols? I know some people are into it but to really succeed in this game, and it is a game, you have spend a lot of time on it (which I don;t have) and do quite a bit of self-promotion (which is uncomfortable) to get fake status symbols (which don;t really interest me). Having a hard tom with the real benefit but appreciate this view!
To me the rewards are the extra traffic and connections. Which leads to more sales. But for someone that doesn't have ways to monetize their site, it would be more of a game.

Never heard of it until you mentioned it now, but I'm not interested, didn't like Monopoly or Risk games so this isn't something I'll pursue.
Thanks for such a helpful article. I joined EA about 3 weeks ago and have spent a few minutes on the site here and there but wasn't really sure exactly how to use it.
Great post and explanation.
Where did you get your version of the share the love buttons.. That's the coolest set up I've seen.
Here's to your continued success.
John
It's a little cut throat is it not? (your example) So, tomorrow you will be talking love again? Well are you for making love or money, that is the question? Business games like that make me uncomfortable. I like games where everybody wins. Is their something like that? Or what can you learn if your really not a business person at all?
Hope your soft ball game went well or goes well. Catholics believe heaven is all around us, everywhere. I believe then, that your coach will be with you or was with you at your game. Hope you can feel his love and presence all around you.
I only started playing this thanks to you - and I'm amazed how it works. It really shows up my weaknesses and strengths, and helps me to see how to imrpove my social media presence and develop my message. It's made me more aware of what is touching people or not!
It's got me to see where I need to step up in service - for instance doing video, and blogging. I USED to write a blog a day on facebook - and stopped. And have so many things going down around doing videos - tho do this I will probably start doing video's... so a full embodied approach to get the message out about Love - a luscious love!

Great post, Randy. You explain this as well as I have seen anyone do it yet, and provide excellent reasons for getting involved. I'm thrilled I got in early and it's definitely showed me how to close the gaps in my social media program. Cheers -
Great tips Randy! One thing I don't understand though is how do you know when to sell a stock? What is the average it should be paying you?
Like I say, I don;t even know about all the dividend formulas. But if someone isn't really interacting on social media then their stock will go down.

Epic "I don’t blog and do social media well so I get a good score on EA. I get a good score on EA because I blog and do social media well."
I agree with most of what you said. I think a lot of "gurus" and marketing people are shying away from it because they tend to put their focus in one social media network/blog rather than being balanced. EA - when it comes down to it - is about making sure you have balance in your online marketing efforts.
Since EA only considers your top 5 scores - it doesn't mean you need to be a wonder-person who is extremely active on every network and blogging. One solid score, 2-3 medium ones and 1-2 low ones are enough to get a great share price.
Randy! This was a fun post and you nailed all the key points for getting started or maintaining. Your shareholder mail is also inspiring and I see why you are in the business model of prosperity. Kudos!
Nice piece Randy, well done. One correction though - your share price and dividends won't drop if you hold on to your stock in your 97 y.o. mammie. But, you won't make as many eaves as those who drop her for a better deal.
Very good post Randy, I totaly agree on your first lines: "Because its about your prosperity" and "It can actually help you monitor your brand, and cultivate business." ! :)
I enjoyed this post Randy. It was very well thought out and I agree with you that more and more people will be joining Empire Avenue in the droves, especially professionals/entrepreneurs/technology folks.
I have been on board for just under 2 weeks now and I was able to generate 2.5m of net wealth, and cross the 100e/share mark and become part of the Century Club. (Can you tell I got addicted?)
I can proudly say that I am a shareholder of (e)RGAGE and I look forward to continuing to get great ROI over the next several months.
See you at the top of the EAv Leaderboards!
