Finding Joy in Life

By Randy Gage

Buying a new car, moving into your new home, or getting a promotion are all cause for celebration and we can all find joy in things like that.  But those aren’t the only things that make up prosperity.

Prosperity is also the summer breeze, the gentle touch of a hand, the nuzzle of a puppy’s nose, and the silence that needs no interruption.  Living with joy is a continuous action.  It is a mindset that finds joy in everything around you.  Which attracts even more good to you, bringing you yet still more joy.

So why not look for joy everywhere today?  In the people you meet, the things you learn, and even the mistakes you might make.

Joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea; joy to you and me!

“Jeremiah was a bullfrog …” Great post, though! And those things that cause joy often cost NOTHING!

Finding joy in the mistakes that we make? Randy, that’s a REAL challenge… as is finding joy in our bad choices, or our disappointments, or even our so-called failures. But you’re correct — the joy is there, and if we have the proper mindset, we can experience it. Joy to us all!

This is another interesting subject, Randy. Thank you.

I once heard the speaker talk about our strifes and difficulties in life and how we can overcome and turn the incidents that are negative to our senses to such precious treasures – positive ones – simply by switching our thought pattern.

It is absolutely true that our everyday lives often bring us things that are difficult on us, trouble us, and frustrate us. However, our lives also teach us things to be very grateful for and happy about. I think we need only to find and select these good things, and to learn to separate them from the bad ones – dross. Then, we learn to focus our hearts on the treasures we can find.

If we are to stand before a crowd that will start throwing at us stones and precious jewels at us, wouldn’t we choose to learn how to maneuver to avoid stones and then would try to catch as many precious jewels as we could. Would we be sad and weep because of those stones being thrown at us, or would we be full of joy for those precious jewels that we found.

I believe, the time will come someday when our joy stands steadily in our hearts that we will be able even to turn those stones crossing our paths into diamonds, pearls, gold, into the absolute precious treasures beyond any measure.

I haven’t visited your blog page for a while due to my busy work, but as always, I enjoyed very minute of it. Thank you, Randy.

We have to train ourselves to pause in the midst of a pressure situation, adversity, or just the circumstances that surround us each day. During that pause, take a deep breath, look around for something to appreciate or enjoy, then with a prayer of thanksgiving, allow joy to take the place of whatever your feelings have been. This can become a habit and you will experience joy much more often.

Boy does this come at a good time! I spent most of the day enthralled in a very unpleasant situation with one error after anothe being made and nobody taking responsiblity.

It’s these times where finding Joy can be the most difficult. But once you take that deep breath and step away, you find Joy.

Thanks Randy.

Wow, thanks for this post, as I live most of my days with joy.
Happy to see one doesn’t have to be a rich successful person, which I have known, but most people do not realize.
The saying, when challenges come our way is, if it doesn’t kill you it will make you stronger!! :-)
