A big step towards manifesting prosperity is expanding your consciousness towards it. You can’t be treated for prosperity; you must be open to receiving it. And if you have been raised in an environment of lack, it can be hard to get your mind around abundance.

Well if that’s an issue for you, I suggest you hop over to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in particular Dubai. I’m here doing a speech, and the prosperity is simply astounding!

Now I’ve been following events here for a while, and thought I was prepared for what to expect. But when you get here and see it all for yourself, it’s mind-boggling. Skyscrapers are rising everywhere. And we’re not talking about puny little 60 or 70 story buildings; we’re talking massive towers. They’re currently building the tallest building in the world here, which will be 167 stories. Art Jonak tells me 80 percent of all of the cranes in the world are located in Dubai. Believe it! (And probably 19 of the other 20 percent are in Singapore!)

Dubai is home to the world’s only 7-star hotel, the BURJ AL ARAB. Check it out at:
http://www.burj-al-arab.com/

Even I wouldn’t ask my clients to put me up there, so I’m slumming it at the Monarch Dubai. This five-star property met me at the airplane, whisked me through customs, had a limo waiting, and provided a suite with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of Dubai and the Arabian Gulf. It had a couple 42” high-def TVs, leather topped desk, complimentary clothes pressing, wireless internet, gym membership, welcome drink and refreshments served in the room, buffet breakfast, and a lot of other stuff other hotels hose you for, all included. Plus 24-hour butler service on each floor and a limo back to the airport. The common areas are spectacular, and I bet they spend $100,000 a month just for the fresh flowers in the lobby. You could get used to this!

The UAE is also building the world’s three largest man-made islands, two of which will be in Dubai. The first, The Palm Jumeirah is pretty well along. Talk a look at:
http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/palm_jumeirah.php

If you want an idea of the scope, scale and challenges of the project, watch this video at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WybVe8eXXqw

It was actually done in the very early stages of construction, but it gives you an idea of the magnificence of the project. To give you an idea of the size, the only man made structures you can see from space are the Great Wall of China, Palm Jumeirah Island, and the check-in line at the Delta ticket counter.

I’ll be writing lots more about this in my “Randy’s Rants” e-zine, so if you’re not a subscriber, go back to the homepage and sign up. I’ll also be sharing my experiences on Emirates Airlines, the most luxurious prosperity in the sky. Talk to you then,

Yesterday I mentioned that I like ‘The Secret” because it has introduced people to the law of attraction. The problem comes from all of the people that watch it and think they can just sit on their ass dreaming about a Lamborghini and it’s going to drive itself up to their house.

The Quakers have an expression: “As you pray, move your feet.”

This is true for all areas of prosperity. If you want more friends, you must be a friend. If you want a life of harmony, you must feed your subconscious mind positive thoughts, if you want to be healthy, you need to turn off the TV and exercise once in a while.

Yes we attract what we most think about. But if you’re sitting on the sofa daydreaming about your Lamborghini, you’re also probably thinking quite a bit about your meager surroundings and the ’69 Ford Pinto you’ve currently got parked in the driveway. Whereas if you are working a new business venture to earn enough to get the Lambo, you’re a lot more likely to attract that.

The toys and perks we get by along the way of creating prosperity are great. But the real process of attracting prosperity is about the person you become along the journey. And as your consciousness grows, so does your abundance.

Well since I’m attacking sacred cows like organized religion, I might as well go after another big one these days: “The Secret”

Now don’t get me wrong, I actually like the movie and have a lot of friends appearing in it. A lot of people are looking for it to guide them how to manifest their prosperity. Unfortunately I would rate it as more like “manifestation lite.”

If I have one more person say to me something like, “I’ve watched ‘The Secret’ 27 times and my Bentley still hasn’t driven into my driveway,” I’m going to hurt them!

I believe the Law of Attraction is a real and tangible force or nature, based upon energy vibrations. But so are many other universal laws, such as the vacuum law of prosperity, the creativity law, the law of giving and receiving and others. And you have to be living in accord with all of these to manifest true prosperity in your life. Over the next few weeks we’ll explore these deeper.

Until then, remember that today is a fresh start for prosperity, and yesterday ended last night!

Earlier we spoke about how the crazy fundamentalists in organized religion create so much lack and limitation in the world. Let’s explore that deeper to see just how they do this.

They use a very powerful weapon: Doubt.

They create doubt in their followers by making them feel they are not worthy. Why? Because just like governments, the most dangerous threat they face is a healthy, happy, independent person that is doing well. Because people like that don’t show up that often at the church, temple, mosque, or synagogue. Whereas people that need a job, a healing, or a miracle - are much more likely to turn out. (And put some money in the collection basket.)

They need you to need them…

So they tell you that you’re a sorry sinner needing salvation, and if you say enough “hail Mary’s,” beg for forgiveness enough, attend enough confessions, donate enough money, or grovel before your God enough, you’ll get salvation. And the end result of all this supplication is worthiness issues. Which is the leading cause of self-sabotaging behavior.

Which is where we will pick up next time…

So I was fifteen years old and sitting in a jail cell charged with armed robbery. Even at this young age, my life seemed destined for a quick and ugly end. Then a visit from a complete stranger started a chain of events that would transform my life forever…

He was a teacher, and the father of a friend I went to school with. He told me that he had been studying my files, and talking to others about me, and that I was capable of great things. That one simple statement he made to me changed the way I felt about myself.

And when that changed – everything changed…

It’s amazing how the way you think about yourself changes the way you think about the world. You begin to understand that the only way to change the world is to change yourself.

This was a lesson I was to learn again, at a much deeper level, 15 years later when my business failed. It was that business failure – and the introspection it caused me – that led me to the extraordinary levels of success I have since attained.

It also began a 15-year journey of research and study in the areas of self-development, human potential, and how we shatter self-limiting beliefs that hold us back. Or more specifically – how we can tap into the power of our subconscious mind to achieve success and prosperity.

Along the way, I’ve discovered some fascinating insights into the “lack” and limiting beliefs you are programmed with, beginning as a toddler, and continuing until five minutes ago.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, you’re being assaulted with messages. These messages from friends, family, TV, radio, Internet, your government, and even your place of worship are mostly negative programming at the subconscious level. Programming which holds you back from achieving or sometimes even attempting success.

Until you uncover and counteract this programming, it exists on the subconscious level, causing you to sabotage the success you are seeking. This subconscious programming also infects the way you feel about money, sex, relationships, and your body. It affects whether you get sick and how fast you heal if you do get ill.

So that’s the topic I want to explore together on this blog. Of course I won’t mince words, pander to what’s politically correct, or tell you what you want to hear. You can expect a blunt, candid and spirited look into the beliefs, mindset and actions that keep you broke, or allow you to manifest true prosperity.

Enjoy the journey!

As I counsel people on creating wealth and developing prosperity consciousness, there is one issue that comes up again, and again. The pervasive, all-encompassing and lack-centered beliefs they developed as a result of their exposure to organized religion. It’s the single biggest issue I see.

Of course I’ve talked about this a lot here, in my “Randy’s Rants” newsletter, and my last book, “Why You’re Dumb, Sick and Broke.” But it’s hard to make a dent in this, because organized religion is such big business, and their fundamentalist followers are so brainwashed they can’t even think for themselves any longer.

If you want some great homework, here’s your assignment: Go see Bill Maher’s documentary, “Religulous.” Like pretty much everything he does, it’s funny, thought provoking, and brilliant.

I will admit, the flick is certainly not made to be fair and balanced. Bill has strong opinions and this film is his soapbox. But what a soapbox it is! Critics will say that he made the faithful look ridiculous. Not true. They did that all by themselves. Go out and see it. Love it or hate it, it’s a great vehicle to foster critical thinking if you’re open to it.

If you’ve read my books, or followed my “Rants” for a while, then you know I’m a big believer in the power of programming your subconscious mind. Personally I think this was one of the most helpful things I did to turn my life around.

I did this through affirmations, prosperity mind maps, subliminal CD’s, meditation and other things. Now there is a great new resource out to make programming your own subconscious mind even more powerful.

It’s called MindMaster, and it’s a program that will flash positive affirmations at lightning speed on your computer screen while you are working. Most people spend hours a day in front of their monitors, so this has the potential to really do you some serious good.

With MindMaster, you get to choose the areas you want affirmations, in, you can customize them, and you can even add images (which makes them more powerful).

Unfortunately the version for Macs isn’t available yet, but then again, you poor schlubs still on PCs need all the help you can get! Get all the details at http://www.mindmaster.tv/

This is the most important thing you will do today.

Long time readers know I am not crazy about “The Secret.” I’m glad that it has introduced the Law of Attraction to many people. But the film took a pretty simplistic view of how to apply it. There’s lots of people sitting home watching the video, wondering when their Lamborghini is going to drive itself into their driveway.

It will be a long wait.

Obviously we need to take action to manifest prosperity. One of the people who gets that is my friend James Arthur Ray (who was featured in the video.) And I’m excited that he has a new book out about exactly this process. James understands that we all must be co-creators of our prosperity and breaks in into five key areas: Financial, relationships, mental, physical, and spiritual.

The book is called “Harmonic Wealth.” I just ordered my copy and I’m looking forward to reading it. I suggest you get on Amazon.com or your local bookstore and get your own copy.

Well Hillary & Obama seem hopelessly deadlocked on who can give away more free health care, prescriptions and goodies. And John McCain seems like a nice guy to have at your family reunion, but we’re talking about electing the leader of the (kind of) free world here.

So I’ve done the only logical thing and answered the call of my country. I am officially announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America.

Now I reserve the right to modify the campaign later, and go for benevolent dictator of the world, but for now I’ll settle for the presidency. As there may be a few of you not familiar with my positions on the issues, here’s a synopsis of my campaign platform:

When I’m President…all trendy yuppie restaurants have to come up with a new dish to replace Chilean Sea bass.

When I’m President…all presidents who want to invade (or “liberate”) other countries must lead the charge on horseback.

When I’m President…Christmas songs cannot be played on the radio before December 15th or after noon on December 25. And people who don’t take down the Christmas lights by January 1st will be interned in special trailer parks in West Virginia.

When I’m President…Each night on the graveyard shift, the DJs on all oldies stations have to play “The Load Out/Stay” by Jackson Browne, and the long version of “American Pie.” And during the same hours each classic rock station must play “Silent Lucidity” by Queensryche and “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd. Naturally all country stations must play the live version of Garth Brooks doing “Friends in Low Places” and David Allen Coe singing that positive country classic about him being drunk the day his mom got out of prison and got run over by a train.

When I’m President…Rush Limbaugh will be required to go back on drugs. And Paula Abdul must get off them.

When I’m President…The death penalty shall be abolished, except for cases of extreme transgressions such as drive through window clerks who give you the wrong order. Or people who lick their fingers when going through a salad bar. Or drivers who creep out and then are blocking the intersection when your light is green.

When I’m President…It will be illegal to manufacture nylon bicycle shorts in waist sizes larger than 34 inches. And finally,

When I’m President…The writers for the “CSI” and “Law & Order” TV shows will be required to write story lines more believable than the ridiculous ones they give us now. Something much more plausible to actually happen, like the plot of “Alien vs. Predator.”

I can’t save this country alone. I need your support. Unfortunately the campaign website where you can contribute isn’t ready yet. So in the meantime, feel free to send me PRADA gift certificates!

You’ve heard me talk a lot about the negative programming you are subjected to on a daily basis, and the harmful effect it can have on all areas of your life. Of course the three biggest culprits are organized religion, government, and the mass media.

It would be tough to determine who does the most harm. Religion is insidious, because it is so emotionally charged and brainwashed into people at such an early age. Thus by the time people grow up, they are so incapable of rational thought about the subject they often can’t be helped. (Case in point, many of the hopeless, hapless, and helpless fundamentalists that write me every time I suggest they do some critical thinking about whether their core beliefs serve them.)

But of course a strong case could be made that government does the most harm. Governments maintain their power base by making promises to people to take care of them, and stealing resources from the most productive members of society to offer goodies to the much larger voting block of less productive people. (Case in point: the current election here in the States. The candidates are practically falling all over each other to promise more goodies to the masses.) This creates an entitlement mentality, which further erodes self-esteem.

But how can we forget the mass media? It may be the worst offender, because we’ve now reached a stage where the average person in the “herd” is watching five hours of television a day! And spending even more of their waking hours surfing popular culture websites. Almost all of the subliminal programming in these channels is anti-prosperity and negative.

Take the new breakout hit for this season on the FOX network called, “The Moment of Truth.”

Now before I go further, I must admit I am conflicted. Because I have to give FOX credit, because they have probably shown more creative talent and originality in program development than anyone for the last 20 years. When it was just the big three networks, the amount of bland, incestuous copycat stuff was mind-boggling. FOX really went out and took chances, and brought some very fresh programming to the air. Whether you liked them or not, shows like 21 Jump Street, The Simpsons, Married with Children, America’s Most Wanted, and COPS were like nothing that anyone had done before.

Today I must admit that American Idol is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. “House” (filled with negative programming by the way) provides a daring approach to the hero protagonist and sensational acting and writing. And the new “Terminator” show is simply sublime, if you are a Sci-Fi fan as I am. I could never have imagined a TV show capturing the power of the movies, but this show has certainly done that. It actually motivated me to learn how to use my DVR and I didn’t miss an episode all season.

But for every superior show FOX develops, they seem to balance the equation with some of the most crude, vulgar, and vapid shit that has ever been presented on a network. Which brings us back to, “The Moment of Truth”…

I haven’t watched it and certainly never will. But just seeing the clips for it is enough to make my skin crawl. The premise is that they hook people up to a lie-detector test and surround them with friends and family, then ask them questions. If they tell the truth, they can win $500,000. Then they ask questions such as if a wife would leave her husband for her ex-boyfriend, if someone would cheat on their spouse if they knew they wouldn’t get caught, or if they have any secrets that could end their marriage. Then of course they zoom in on the injured party and let people rubber neck at their distress.

<noembed>http://youtube.com/watch?v=4ZTkr7u2pI4</noembed>

A show like this is so demeaning and de-humanizing, that it can’t help but lower your opinion of humankind in general, and your own self-esteem as a result. Of course the show is a huge success. And proved yet again that FOX is crazy like a fox.

It seems there are two markets out there.

One is the thinking person, interested in thought-provoking, fresh new shows. And then there is the larger market: brain-dead morons, who want to salaciously peep into the misfortunes of other people’s train wrecks, take things down to the lowest common denominator, and relinquish their need to think.

FOX has figured out they don’t have to have one or the other. They’re programming to both, and their escalating ratings prove it.

So what about YOU?

Which demographic are you in? Now more than ever, it is critical to be discerning in the programming you allow yourself to be infected with. And to be counter programming yourself with positive stuff every single morning before you go out into the world. You can program your subconscious mind. Or you can let other people do it. But you will get programmed.

Give it some thought and post your comments below.
