Expanding Your Prosperity Window

By Randy Gage
November 21st, 2008

Last post we looked at developing your prosperity consciousness.  The real process we need to do here is expansion.  Expanding the window through which you see the world.

A lot of you have heard the story where I use shoes as the analogy for this process with me.  I started with a dream to be able to afford $200 Bally loafers.  Then it expanded to $500 Prada sneakers, $1,000 Testoni’s, and ultimately having custom made shoes done at Lobb’s of London.  (When I tried to tell my insurance agent that I had $150,000 worth of shoes in my closet to insure, she started shrieking!)

This can happen in any area of prosperity: health, relationships, the income you earn, etc.  You could start with a belief that people are out to use you in relationships.  Then you could graduate to believing that you can protect your interests, but you need to keep a wall around you to prevent you from being hurt.  Then you can evolve to being able to love someone and risk losing them.  Then you can move into the realm of loving them unconditionally, and attracting someone that loves you the same way.

You could grow up thinking that $50,000 a year is a big income.  Once you reach that, you’d probably decide that $100,000 or $200,000 is a lot.

When someone tells me that they make $100,000, I often respond with an incredulous “A YEAR?”  That’s not to offend them, but to shock their system, and perhaps reconfigure their beliefs so that 100K seems more appropriate for a month or week, instead of a year.

Of course this last trip to Dubai was good to shock my own consciousness!  There are people there that rake in a day what I make in a year.

That doesn’t mean you or I have to compete with others to manifest more.  It’s about the amount that lubricates life and makes it more enjoyable for you.

I watched the movie “Iron Man” on the plane.  And I have to tell you, that private jet he has is the nuclear bomb of cool!  And I would like to have one like that.  So I decided to quit playing so small and make some serious money.

So what about YOU?

Have you done something lately to expand the window you see the world through?  What other things would you like to manifest, to bring more joy into your life?

I caught “Iron Man” at the larger-than-life IMAX theater, and as I watched the General get seduced by the two picture-perfect flight attendants wrapping themselves around the “airplane support beam,” the only thought I had was…

“I bet Gage would dig Robert Downey’s shoes!”

Dear Randy,

Thanks for the post. I recently joined Agel in Venezuela and look to you as an inspiration in this bussiness. Thanks for all you give, that is the secret of your great success.

Randy, Thanks for addressing the concept of “enough money to lubricate life” combined with “no need to compete against each other.”

Also, I expand my window by asking people wealthier than I about their current business projects, and LISTENING carefully to what they describe. Yesterday I did that with one my business mentors. I think of it as if the speaker is an air pump inflating my money tire a few more notches– and all I need to do is be receptive to hearing the idea, whether or not I would choose to adopt it. If my mind jumps to judge him/her negatively, I ask myself, “Do you think that big?” If my answer is “no”, then I know it’s my learned fears and learned limitations speaking.

I leaf through Executive Controller magazine shopping for private jets, I listen to people planning their exotic vacations, and I hang out with entrepreneurs whose businesses are thriving in my geographic area. I applaud the people more successful than I as they acquire and achieve what they want. And, I applaud myself for my own growth.

I would like to see more posts about expanding one’s prosperity window, especially how to deal with self-destructive thoughts and behavior that may arise as one is stretching one’s window.

Randy thanks for making this blog available. I’ve been reading the ants for a couple of years, but I think the blog projects more of
an internal belief system.

So I’m glad I found it and thanks for the inspiration’s. Because I
never realized you can get custom made shoe’s. Here I thought I just need sensible shoe’s.
