Building Your Tribe…
by Randy Gage
Don’t work to build more followers and fans. Work to perfect your craft.
Do work that you’re immensely proud of. The work will attract the tribe. The right tribe, for you and them.
The only things that achieve universal acclaim are pap and mediocrity. If you’re not pissing some people off – you’re probably not doing relevant work. Everyone is not supposed to be in your tribe.
Don’t pander. Be dangerous. Don’t water the work down to attract more. Make the work challenging to attract better.
P.S. And if you haven’t read Tribes by Seth Godin yet, what are you waiting for!
Another good blog post. It's really ok when people "unsubscribe" you. It is not serving to worry about losing Fans. You will attract the people that are looking for what you have to offer them in the long run.
I am midway to my first 6 months in business. Well, this advice comes to me at the right time. You'll get my report to compare when my test is complete.
Thanks a lot for the post.
@BobBurg Thanks as always my friend.
Hi @SteveGrim. Remember you used to tweet me music? Sorry so serious, lately. Either politics make me anxious or anxiety makes me political
The TRIBE you attract and allow to go into (mess) your life is a perfect reflection of who you have become. If you don't like who you are seeing and they are still around, there's a big chance that you're not doing something great! Ain't that right, Mr. R.G.? :)
RG I found you because of your excellence.
You did an audio with Joe Vitale. You rocked. I was a fan from that day on.
Do what you do in a phenomenal way and your tribe finds you. Fans find you. People who vibe with you find you because of your dedication and clarity.
@Steve Siebold Thanks, always great to see a guest appearance by you here!
